  1. If Ruud was Top's choice, sacking him would require Top to admit he made a mistake in appointing him. Don't think Top would be keen on doing that - would mean him losing 'face'.
  2. For me, the Frank McLintock season without doubt!!
  3. Man sitting next to me in the East Stand - also a season ticket holder - turned to me on 14 minutes and said " what on earth are they protesting about?" !!
  4. If Top hears that a protest is being planned, I cannot imagine for one moment that he will be at the game to witness it. Same for Susan most probably, neither are known for courageously facing criticism are they?
  5. I rather think that you've answered your own question there and if that isn't EPL's intention, it would certainly be the intention of some of their members.
  6. I can't say that I'm looking forward to the Championship exactly but there did seem to be a better 'feeling / atmosphere around the games somehow and of course no VAR which makes a lot of difference
  7. It's gone 10am, why haven't we signed anyone yet????? Bit extreme I know but you will understand the frustration!
  8. Thought about it some more since my posting a few minutes ago and I've realised that it's not the on-field performance or even the results that's really passed me off, it's the Boardroom incompetence that's really got to me!
  9. Not quite to that extent yet but I'm definitely heading in that direction. For one reason or another today's game is the first I've been able to go to since Forest, haven't really missed going and can barely be bothered to go today. But I will and hope that I can somehow get the 'buzz' back.
  10. Strange, I just don't remember Ricardo at all. When did he play for us?
  11. Not surprisingly, brilliant fish and chips from the chippy just outside the away entrance at Fleetwood Town
  12. Agreed, I thought he was quite good in comparison with some we've seen which just goes to show how low that bar currently is!
  13. I honestly don't think we'll concede 10 goals so long as we have Mads playing in goal but losing by 5 or 6 goals is more than possible based on yesterday's performance. But I hope not, I don't like to think what effect that might have on team morale even if it might just serve to concentrate a few minds in the Boardroom.
  14. I think it was a totally different club with Vichai in charge but just out of interest, how many matches did Sousa last before getting the push?
  15. How long 'til the second tin?
  16. I think though that such decisive action at this early stage - no matter how well merited - would require a level of involvement, decisiveness and clear thinking that is seemingly entirely beyond the capability of any of the senior management currently at the club.
  17. I've got a feeling we might just lose this one
  18. I understand the point you are making but exactly the same could be said about a number of our younger players regarding the lack of opportunities being given to them, are we intending to sell them all?
  19. Really don't agree with this at all, I think we should keep and develop him as one for the future. If he really was showing as little promise as is being suggested, why would so many others seemingly be interested in him?
  20. I've said before on this site so apologies if I repeat myself but it has always seemed to me that the first requirement of management is to ensure that you get the very best that you can out of your staff - as a football manager, that primarily means your players. Apart from perhaps 25 minutes during the second half of the Spurs game, I'm not convinced that SC is currently doing that in terms of team selection, positional play or overall tactics. Then there is the separate question of his role in player recruitment. And as regards yesterday's post-match comments, if he honestly believes we were unlucky in not winning against Fulham I can only think that he wasn't watching the same match as everyone else. Encouraging and supporting the players is one thing but sometimes a bit of clear thinking is needed. Yes we are only two games into the new season but still ..........
  21. It may well be that Steve Cooper is insisting only on more experienced players and ideally those with experience of the Premier League
  22. If we shipped out Soumare I'd be delighted, never mind anything else.....
  23. Quite honestly, when it's LCFC we're talking about, it's never too soon to hit the panic button.....
  24. I would be farm more excited by our signing this guy and Fotis the Greek than ever I would about Wilf Zaha signing. Is that just me being picky?
