Wow. Given the post you have replied to, I’m amazed you think it’s @Foxin_Mad who isn’t getting it. That post pretty much nails it whilst yours respectfully misses the mark. One, incompetence is incompetence at whatever level. Things change and the fact you think it’s ok that the club has done what they have due to the past is seemingly an attitude shared with the club. Have you not heard the saying if you’re standing still you’re going backwards? You’re living in the past with those comments. As for the latter part, we aren’t building to come back are we? There is no strategic approach and we continue to waste money on has beens that are neither improving us now, nor likely to make us revenue from sales. We are not getting ourselves out the PSR loop or building a squad for the future. I honestly don’t care if we go down to league 1 or 2. As long as we have a hungry squad who I can get behind and take pride in.
-
It does seem a moot topic really as like said, there will one of two or the few players we’d want keep who have to be sold so we can waste funds elsewhere and cry about PSR. Personally happy for Hermansen to go as Stolarcryk is waiting to take over. Would be good to keep BEK though. Hopefuly Fatawu on account of his injury will stay and I’d like to keep Okoli around. Ndidi perhaps as well. Others like Souttar and Mavididi I’d happy keep. Problem will be not being able to shift a load that are a waste of wages. Looking at Vestergard, Coady, Winks and Skipp amongst others. Ward as long as we don’t offer him a new contract (we probably will) out the door will be great. If we can offload Faes that’d be also fab.

Things I have not done: participated in protests contributed towards the van Directly stated anyone out Things I have done: Supported the idea of the club doing better and questioning those who think everything is rosy. I won’t lower myself to your petty and juvenile insults but will just leave these facts here.

Stolarcryk? Nelson? Mavididi at that level?
-
I’d add Mavididi to that as well. He’s not been good this season but we know what he can do. If it was possible to keep a 3 behind the striker as Fatawu, BEK, Mavididi, that’d be great. Agree that Okoli (if he stays), Nelson and Souttar if the latter two come back well from injury would be good. I can’t see us shifting JJ and Ricardo so likely one of them plus Coulibaly at right back. Left back is tricky. Kristiansen and Thomas would be suitable for the league if we aren’t doing Enzo style this time. But the fan base is largely beyond giving either of them the time of day. Stolarcryk plus reinforcements for GKs. Central midfielders who knows who will stay and who will go. I likely Ndidi but he might have interest. Cant see us shifting Winks and Skipp but would like to just because the weak minded Spursyness is something we don’t need. Soumare would probably smash it if he was interested but a year on his contract he probably heads to Europe somewhere. Stikers who the hell knows.

Whey not just me on the Wellens hype -
What’s interesting. Pro-KP lot, ‘you’re all entitled for being frustrated and wanting better. We are little Leicester etc etc. Careful what you wish for and what do you want’? The answer to that. To make sensible decisions, have accountability, build an exciting squad of players who want to be here, not be constantly pursued by the authorities for financial breaches, communication from the club, fans not to be treated with contempt. And much more. But nobody who is frustrated and demanding change ever have the motive that it’s because we aren’t in the top 6. That is a narrative pushed by the KPFC lot. When you point to clubs like Brighton, Brentford and Bournemouth doing things right and sensibly and doing well. The reply is ‘well they lost 7-0 to Forest’ or ‘what have they won’. So really, it’s the KPFC lot who think it is all about winning, ironic given the direction we are heading. Whereas the ones pushing for change are likely to be those who will be there in League 1 or 2 if it came to it, if the club was one that they could have faith in and relate to.

I agree with the second paragraph about just going back to a passionate fan base even if it is smaller. You’re likely right in your first paragraph. I just wonder whether the disconnect and how we have got here will drive away loyal fans that stuck around in the era you mentioned. To be fair, I was a bit young when it went wrong before. My first season going was when we were promoted under Adams and then obviously a relegation later we spent a decade in the wilderness so that was my upbringing if you like as a fan! I can’t recall what the feeling was like form the fan base back then as I was only about 8! It can’t have been as divided as it is now?
-
I looked and it felt they were more unhappy with Wilder using the partnership of Choudhury and Souza more so than a criticism of either player individually. Unless I have not seen that you have.
-
Yep. No doubt the route is multiple loans to League 2 or maybe 1 then releasing him though. The club is just rotten. That goes for the fan base too. The problem is, most of those in the stadium will be straight on the back of young players is they don’t look like world beaters on their debut. Luke Thomas for example. He was thrown in without any loans and is he such an awful player? I don’t think so. I think he had his good moments that showed there could have been a player in there and bad moments as a young player coming into the environment he did would. But he got pelters, was written off and never seemed to come back from it mentally.
-
You think? I’d have thought once it is clear we are not coming back up and stagnate, they will surely get bored watching the likes of Cardiff and Preston all the time. The risk for me is, those types drift away and those who would normally stick through thick and thin will have been driven away by the running of the club, not the mere fact we have gone down. Which could lead to lower crowds than we even had last time we were outside the top flight for a sustained period of time.

I suspect you’re correct. What gives me that bit of hope is that somehow we are still less of a basket case than where he is now. But I’m sure he could get a better off if and when he wants to move on from Sheff Weds. I doubt we’ll get anyone unless they are really unproven or are washed up and in it for the pay off. I’d rather go with the former which is why I have an eye on Wellens and the job he has been doing and would be likely to jump at the step up for the right reasons. We know it’ll be Russell Martin though. -

Rohl is my first choice. If not, look at the job Wellens is doing at Orient. Both doing their time in the EFL and are working within tight budgets and in Rohl’s case, a mad and incompetent owner. Rohl obviously already doing a great job in the Championship whereas like with anyone, the risk with Wellens would be a step up. But sometimes it just doesn’t work for a manager at a club so there’s always a risk like when it didn’t work for Howe at Burnley. -
True! To be fair, that is based on us often conceding 2 (though the occasions we have been thumped by more has gone up under RVN). But those games where we have conceded just 2 (Man City, Arsenal and Villa come to mind), the common theme was those opponents being poor by their own standards. So yeah, if Brentford turn up, and don’t take their foot off the gas once they are a couple up, you’d expect a bigger defeat so it is quite an optimistic prediction!
-
The big question is where we can break our run of failing to score at home. That will be the deciding factor in whether Brentford win 2-0 or 2-1.
-
There’s on particular account, I won’t say it but it’s not an individual persons name but does have a clue they are not local as refers to an Australian city. Anyway, this account I see crop up on loads of posts on FB, aggressively defending the club at every turn, attacking anyone questioning them. The interesting bit is they constantly use the turn ‘non believers’ against people who criticise the club. I know we joke about KPFC being a cult but come on, ‘non believers’ is quite literally the sort of terminology you’d expect in a cult….

I mean it’s already 3 from 4. Quite early in the season for that to be the case. Wolves will pull away soon with Ipswich putting up a fight but a lack of quality from them. Us and Southampton are gone already.

Nice to see some unexpected results in the Championship like Burnley drawing 0-0 -
Probably, but then we are probably the only club who consistently signs players who are worse than we have.
