  1. The fundraising link: Skaiste Singh is fundraising for AMMF
  2. How is everyone getting there that's not on the bus? I'm staying over tomorrow night so gonna be there Saturday morning. I've been told you can get the bus, similar to Everton/Liverpool I''m guessing. I'd have thought a taxi might be too expensive considering there's only two of us.
  3. I know yeah, but if you follow on what I posted, I meant it's interesting people posting about it being tough considering Oxford haven't won a game this season. Typical football pessimism.
  4. Coventry still should have won that game. Interesting how people comment "no pushovers", "tough game", considering they've lost 3 out of 4 games. I like Rowett but he has generally been at clubs where he's needed to be defensive minded first and that's what I got from a couple of Oxford fans I know through work. Given their budget though he did well to keep them up last season. I think it'll be a similar game to Charlton for us, but we should be beating Oxford. Granted they pulled off many a shock home win last season.
  5. Agreed.
  6. Good compilation album as well, Diamonds, so nice to see that colour in the kit. Absolute legend is Elton.
  7. I didn't go last time for £36, or whatever daft price it was, definitely not going for £45. Shame as it's a massive game but we shouldn't take any fans at that price. People moan about ticket prices and then still go.
  8. At some point he has to be given a go. Vestergaard/Faes have proved to be fine at this level before but not good enough in the Premier League. Nelson has played well at this level too, so no issue there, but now needs to play otherwise his progress will stall.
  9. Izzet v Grimsby. The best ever. Close thread.
  10. It's a shame when you see genuine friendships, not just bands, end up like this. Johnny Marr must look at the news and roll his eyes nowadays. Morrissey is proper weird. Yet again talks as if the rest are out to get him. Disassociating from those who "wish him "ill-will and destruction". I think he self destructed more than anything else.
  11. Hermansen away at Arsenal last season. Conceded 4 but should been double that.
  12. Will be a good game that. Be interesting to see how it goes.
  13. Shame. Not bothered about the owner or board, just be nice to get a squad photo of players and staff. I used to enjoy getting the squad photos from magazines or sometimes the club.
  14. Fair point, that's true.
  15. Yes. I thought I recall seeing it last year.
  16. I thought there was an email last year with detailed where it all went? Absolute joke about that £25 in the first place, mind.
  17. Do chief executives need a legacy? I don't ever put our success alongside our owners. Everything is manager and players to me.
  18. Out of the managers I've seen (I started going regular around the Adams era) I would say Van Nistelrooy and Holloway. Van Nistelrooy broke a football league record. The amount of games we went without scoring was criminal. I missed so many games last season and it was because of him. Holloway for leading us to our worse ever position. The squad he had wasn't even that bad too, plus he signed two good Championship players in Howard and Oakley. Criminal he got us relegated with that team and for the first time in our history too. Clown. Can't stand either of them. Understand why the main answer would be Taylor though.
  19. Do we not get squad photos anymore?
  20. Lineker is the player I wish I'd have been able to see for us. Obviously I know he is regarded as one of the Countries greatest ever strikers, but his goalscoring record is unbelievable. In the top flight he scored 22 and 24 for us, 30 for Everton, 20, 16 and 6 (I'm guessing this was when he was moved wide), for Barca, 24, 15 and 28 for Tottenham. So consistent and in terms of ability has to be one of greatest ever players.
  21. In the market now, Elliott would be worth millions. I don't. Evans was a complete defender and I would have him alongside Elliott in my team.
  22. Could have just sat it in front of the new ground, similar to what Middlesbrough did.
  23. Yeah, awful. Worse away day for me now which is a shame as I loved Upton Park. But back to the general point. It's sad to pass places where grounds once stood. I like Arsenal's idea of leaving Highbury intact but making them into flats.
  24. I wouldn't recover from it if I were a West Ham fan. Their new place is horrible, not even a football ground.
