Burton Albion (h) post-match 1-2 defeat
Fox92 replied to MC Prussian's topic in Leicester City Forum
Potentially the worse league result in our history. Burton Albion, at home, a team with no budget and aim of just staying in the division. Yet the desire they had eclipsed ours. Well done to them but from our point of view it was a disgrace.- 460 replies

Lovely to see teams spending that much money getting battered.
-
Long countdown given we gave him a new four year contract last year.
-
I defended him last week. Playing away at a newly promoted team. But this week it was a disgrace and just the exact thing time and time again. Lost me already.
-
Said when we signed him he was shit. Can’t believe we paid £20m for him. Unbelivable.
-
He is terrible, absolutely terrible.

Joe Cole not going to do punditry because he thinks Hull will go down anyway? I don't like that. Seems off to me. Millwall were team that finished third and Hull beat them over two legs, with ease. At that point Hull shouldn't have even had to play a final against Middlesbrough as they were given a bye to the final because of Southampton cheating. Hull had an embargo last summer, a new manager too, and their squad was made up of a lot of free transfers. They were predicted to go down. No way should they have been near top 6 but they did it. So of course their squad is "shit". Middlesbrough spent £30m last summer and couldn't even win the play offs at three attempts. So, no, Hull didn't come through the back door - they won the Play Offs just like other teams throughout history - Middlesbrough would have been through the back door though, I'd get that reference if it was them that went up.
-
Was never going to play regardless of our lack of strikers.
-
So disrespectful to Hull. I really hope they stay up. "They've come here through the back door", how? They won the play offs just like countless of other teams through the years. They were predicted to go down last season and went up instead, no different to Blackpool or Burnley.
-
Surely Tottenham are now set up to underachieve. They have spent so much and everyone will be expectant of them. Be lovely if they miss out on Europe.
-
They still watch it though don't they. "Football is shit nowadays" "EFL is shocking standard". So boring.

Only one block was showing for me so thought I'd got the last two tickets, but then went back in after and a couple of other blocks are showing now.

Russell Martin - Confirmed as First Team Manager
Fox92 replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Challinor finished 3rd on two occasions at this level and failed to get Stockport into the Championship. That is usually called “bottling it”. Martin, on the other hand, has managed to get a team promoted into the Premier League. He has only managed one full season at this level previously and the 13th position was with MK Dons who, the previous season, were a newly promoted team that he kept up after taking over mid season. His job there was solid, proved after he left (despite the fact they finished 3rd the following season, they did not go up and were then relegated). I am still amazed people are still trying to compare Challinor and Martin when there is no comparison. Plus win percentages are a pointless comparison. Martin O’Neill has only a 38% win rate here yet is one of our most successful managers. Mainly because 95% of his time here was in the top flight, just like Martin has spent his time much higher than Challinor and there must be a good reason for that (this is the same Challinor that is now out of work and hasn’t been hired all summer). Great win for Stockport today too btw. Edit: Just to clarify, I didn’t want Martin but he’s here now so, while he needs to win me over, I’m just not going to constantly bash him. A point away from home at a newly promoted team is a decent result. I remember going to Stockport away for Pearson’s first away game and it was horrific. The difference in opinion at the end of the game compared to today was different. Ideally, Martin needed to start with a home game to get off to a winning start like we did the last time we were at this level. -
Another one that’s always been shit and that will never change.
-
This is why I’ll never have the “we’ve seen it worse than you” arguments. You only have to be in your 20s/30s to have witnessed the absolute worst.

Russell Martin - Confirmed as First Team Manager
Fox92 replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Really harsh to boo. People around me mainly negative even before a ball was kicked, it’s as if people want him to fail. Today was always gonna be tough. First game of the season, away at a newly promoted team. I remember Pearson’s first away game and how bad that was at Stockport. -
Never understood how people rated him so highly. Pretty much all the time he’s been here he’s looked poor and did again today.
-
Don’t think Wolves will go down but they were my outside bet to struggle. Only first game of the season, mind.
-
The amount of midfielders should chip in with goals, counting Cullen as a midfielder there. I think he's right in saying attention should be elsewhere (hopefully defence following Nelson's injury).

Grown men still calling him "Brussel" then. -
He said that in a recent interview. Not that I agree of course. We were winning trophies, and playing in Europe, 5-10 years ago and people still acted like we were lucky to be there and that "we were in League One once". Now threads like this and the season hasn't even started. Totally different to how another fanbase would have acted. Of course it's not your fault, or any of ours, that we are in the third tier again but the constant negativity is just boring. First game of the season is always good to look forward to regardless of what's happened the season before. Even if we batter County by 3 goals I know the same people will be coming out with excuses of how we didn't deserve it.
-
Yes, I said in the other thread that the lack of an actual striker is the issue. We depended on Fryatt as he got us 30+. We will need goals from other areas but I think we should have that.
-
Another three weeks to go until the window closes ✅
-
I want arrogance. I'm having it. I was us to go to places and play like we should, like we're the best team in the league. We should be winning this division. Our fanbase are just so miserable and don't even act like a big club. Fanbases like Forest and Leeds are annoying but at least they acknowledge themselves.
-
Just like under Pearson when we lost 2-4 at home to Burton Albion (then League Two) and still made the play offs I don't know what people are taking from the league cup fixtures, it was like pre season. Actually I don't know what people take from the first/second round league up fixtures every season.
