Exactly. I have a spare old phone with working NFC.

Buy a cheap phone you can share.

I would agree with most of the points you make here. Enzo wasn’t hated, some were frustrated with his lack of tactical flexibility when he needed to change and some even disappointed when he left but who could blame him working with the current board and Chelsea come calling. Anyone that comes in is working with one hand tied behind their back, the fan base aren’t the issue, they’re increasingly frustrated due to the board also. I think there is huge optimism at this appointment amongst the fans but will the board live up to what they must now do to allow Marti and his team to really build what he wants to build for success - I’m skeptical.

Another highly regarded Matias we could be after who is likely not to have any interest in joining us. Having said that we need to wait for Jon to slowly move any players on before we can buy.
-
Exactly, if people think this current board will somehow ever make the right decisions to get us back competing those people need their heads checking. If it wasn’t for our current crop of young players (no guarantee they sign pro contracts!) we would be very thin on the ground for assets to sell next season. The club won’t get away with this forever while we slowly decline into mediocrity.

Bilal El Khannouss (Stuttgart loan, official)

Im certain there is a sell on fee due back to Genk (they wanted more for the player from memory), maybe I'm mistaken. But that combined with a low release clause would mean we'll end up with possibly less money than we payed. -
It’s hard not to get frustrated at seeing these articles and thinking what a load of BS. Allowed them to discuss terms but still haven’t agreed fee. Supposed release clause yet we’re holding out for more (12m euros is above the quoted £9m) and yet it would be classic Rudkin to hold out for more and then fail to sell or it drags on and he agrees later anyway. I like Wilf but at his age we need to sell to recoup before we lose for nothing, which we almost did!

Portuguese Empire which had South African territories, they used new & mixed local African spices then this became a Portuguese staple back in the home country. So bit of both I guess.

That's Portuguese, that's blasphemy to a Spaniard.

Our issue is offering huge salaries to existing average players, making too many poor signings and not selling on our assets prior to them moving for frees. That last part is not acceptable and is large part why PSR has been an issue, if only we had a trusted system (like we did with Pearson & Walsh) that meant we could sell and reinvest it into players that hopefully become assets themselves. But no we spend way too much on the likes of Skipp and Coady on massive wedges, the club never learns as no accountability exists for sub idiocy.
-
Well yes, but a system that works non the less for a relatively tiny West London club and they’re not afraid to stick and take chances. Frank was just a part of it not the sole reason for their success. They’ll no doubt they’ll lose Mbeumo too. No doubt if they got relegated they’ll have huge ability to rebuild and properly plan. In contrast we have to sell to buy, have players that shouldn’t be anywhere near the club again (Faes for example) but they’ll no doubt play in the squad next season, with pretty poor preparation and rely on a relatively unknown manager. I like the prospect of Marti but he’s working with a system that isn’t coherent or actually working. Being more like Brentford wouldn’t be a negative.
-
They have a system they rely on to replace the stats of the players that have left, to try and replace the goals and assists. If it works or not is the unknown, it’s not an exact science but it’s working. The fact they don’t have a gaping PSR problem because they sell players and don’t offer massive contracts to players is where they’re evidently doing it right and we’re not. They’re doing that and remain in the premier league so one club is getting it right at board level.
-
Yes we let them go for free. Like PSR doesn’t exist. Brilliant.

We also don’t know the amount for Rohl as that hasn’t been settled.

Yes and Enzo had zero experience and got us promoted with by far the best team in the league. Enzo got us drilled and consistent in our style guiding a good team that should have been promoted. His limitations being his lack of flexibility which was all too clear as we limped over the line with more teams setting up to not let us play. It will be much harder this time as by day one we will not be the outstanding team in the league. So one word from a manager that we need is flexibility. Id rather Rohl but Cifuentes is an intriguing pick and I believe will be a good one in the long run. Definitely better than Dyche and Wilder.

Don't do this to us Stan, don't give us this blind hope
-
I agree. But it that backs up the notion that this makes no sense. I’ll be infuriated if we end up with O’Neil after all of this. To dither and end up worse off is what we’ve seen on repeat of the last half decade. Now at the point if they get this wrong then they’ll have completely fcked it, with years out of the top flight. So it has to be Rohl or this is just the board being their old usual incompetent selves, I’ve no faith it’s anything but the latter - I really hope it isn’t.
-
It doesn’t make any sense at all. Unless we so up the creek financially that we can’t afford to pay it.
-
Yeah sorry I’ll not support the appointment of a poor average manager. They sacked managers because they keep getting them wrong. So no, you should not get behind any decisions that will be yet another mistake and end up in a sacking.
-
We now know we are looking at Rohl (R Dorset) it would seem things may at least be happening Wednesday’s side but there is no guarantee that it makes it any easier to land him. But the club shouldn’t just give up if honestly this whole inaction is based around getting Rohl. However if it isn’t and owner and director went on their jollies, while doing zilch, we’re bang in trouble. If we get Rohl I’ll get behind them in difficult circumstances (of their own making) they got the right man, if they got anyone other than Dyche I think I’ll probably never get another season ticket until KP have gone. Think it’s a bit of a sliding doors moment for KP’s time at the club but I don’t believe it gets any better.
-
Think Sheffield Wednesday will announce Pedersen as manager shortly, they all seem adamant this is the case. Will this finally allow us to sort Rohl out. Probably not. If we don’t go for him after all this time, wait a little more, our board just empathises how incompetent they are to have no plan, half hearted pre season and end up with the least appealing option of O’Neil.
-
Some seemed overly confident we’d be there around the playoffs, not saying it won’t happen but after the likely sell off of some of our assets we’re more than likely a hell of a lot weaker than perhaps 4 or 5 teams. Birmingham, Coventry, Sheffield United, Southampton, Ipswich and Wrexham will have momentum at the very least. We’re in the dark about most things and who knows how competitive that team will be. But hopefully some on here can see as other teams build strong squads looking better prepared as the weeks go on that their expectations are brought a few notches. It’s not beyond the realms that the club magically pull something out of their ass and for instance get Rohl in and keep Bilal, then I’d sit up and think maybe we’re going for it. As the weeks drag on and we’re not doing anything and see teams like Brum make these signings we haven’t got a chance, they’re on the up and have momentum - we’ve still go Faes and Daka.
-
Some are pretty delusional on there so I wouldn’t take that as he’ll suddenly stay as it’s being discussed on their forum. One discussion involves whether the new owners will redevelop Hillsborough or build a new stadium and host internationals, some seem to be getting overly optimistic. They haven’t even got any pre season games booked. Having said that I think Top will be wowed by a Wasserman master class and opt for Wilder.
