isaidno Posted 26 April 2015 Posted 26 April 2015 This is the most open championship in years. O'Sullivan, Trump, Murphy and Robertson all playing excellent
DennisNedry Posted 26 April 2015 Posted 26 April 2015 Trump seems to be getting the run of the balls despite knocking in some excellent long pots. Can't really see Fu coming back.
Manwell Pablo Posted 27 April 2015 Posted 27 April 2015 Hmmm todays a bit of a non event really . Both afternoon sessions over before the interval and it'll prolly be a similar story tonight!
Jimothy Posted 27 April 2015 Posted 27 April 2015 Hmmm todays a bit of a non event really . Both afternoon sessions over before the interval and it'll prolly be a similar story tonight! Been some really disappointing challenges in the second round. Fu, Perry, Carter, Stevens, and Dott really haven't put up a fight. The bits I've seen of the Stevens match, O'Sullivan hasn't looked great but he's still opened up a giant lead.
HowardsBulletHeader Posted 27 April 2015 Posted 27 April 2015 It will be interesting to see how McGill plays against Murphy tomorrow, there's a bit of expectation on McGill now he's beaten Selby. Murphy has been playing some great stuff though, could be a cracking match. Murphy to win the whole thing for me at 11/1 would be nice.
StanSP Posted 27 April 2015 Posted 27 April 2015 Ronnie has been playing some impeccable stuff. Love watching him play. Hoping Robertson wins cos I've got a bet on him to do so

I think Carter has a reasonable excuse for running out of steam vs Robertson, given that he could quite easily have been dead six months ago. He's done pretty well just to get this far.

He's done pretty well just to get this far. Yeah was probably a bit harsh lumping him in with the others. Point about the efforts of the others still stands though. They're all good players, but barely put up a fight from what I saw. Perry was the worst.
Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 28 April 2015 Posted 28 April 2015 Brilliant Quarter Final line up today. Only match I think will be comfortable is Ronnie v Bingham, the others will be classics, especially Trump v Ding.
Nalis Posted 29 April 2015 Posted 29 April 2015 Bingham is probably the most pointless snooker player on tour. Hope Ronnie and Hawkins win their matches.
Jimothy Posted 29 April 2015 Posted 29 April 2015 Ronnie out then. Heard Steve Davis talking about players starting to miss easy pots as they approach 40, and there seems to be no explanation for it. Noticed he missed a few easy pots in the Bingham match, most notably the one where he nearly snapped his cue. Just wondered if this is starting to creep into Ronnie's game like it is Higgins and it did Hendry, Davis, etc.

Not a fan of Bingham but he just doesn't excite me like Trump or Robertson do.
isaidno Posted 29 April 2015 Posted 29 April 2015 Never seen anything in Bingham that impresses me. He's one of these journey men players
Jimothy Posted 29 April 2015 Posted 29 April 2015 Robertson gone too. Murphy vs Trump final now . Or the joy of a Hawkins vs Bingham final!
HowardsBulletHeader Posted 29 April 2015 Posted 29 April 2015 Can't see past Trump winning from here, I'm hoping Murphy does just to win some pennies but there's only one winner in my opinion.
Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 Yeah can't see Trump not winning to be fair. Had a few quid E/W on Bingham at 50/1 so wouldn't mind him winning!
chrishlcfc Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 Trump is playing the best currently but my money would still be on murphy, just think he has played consistenly well for the last year and can go all the way this year.
Manwell Pablo Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 Sort of lost appeal a bit now Ronnie and Selby are gone. Don't really have any preference for any of the 4 players left apart from thinking Judd can be quite entertaining.
Nalis Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 Might have been a but harsh on Bingham earlier but he's up against him v Trump. Should be a decent game.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 30 April 2015 Posted 30 April 2015 Only 5-3 down and can obviously still win this match and the entire thing, but I always think you should be wary of the outstanding player early in the tournament, Ronnie aside not many who have been playing best up until the quarters have gone on and won it. Especially given Judds style of play, yes he's improved but still think there are plenty who are all round better players. My money would be on Murphy now.

I was surprised Robertson didn't progress after how sharp he looked in the previous rounds, but that's who I'm backing now.
Manwell Pablo Posted 1 May 2015 Posted 1 May 2015 Poor Barry , looking like he's going down wiith a session to spare at the minute. Could be possibly be done before mid session tonight!
