kingfox Posted 16 April 2015 Posted 16 April 2015 That time of year again Draw was made this morning... 1)Mark Selby v Kurt Maflin 16)Stephen Maguire v Anthony McGill 9)Joe Perry v Zhang Anda 8)Shaun Murphy v Robin Hull 5)Barry Hawkins v Matt Selt 12)Mark Allen v Ryan Day 13)Ali Carter v Alan McManus 4)Neil Robertson v Jamie Jones 3)Ding Junhui v Mark Davis 14)John Higgins v Robert Milkins 11)Marco Fu v Jimmy Robertson 6)Judd Trump v Stuart Carrington 7)Ricky Walden v Graeme Dott 10)Stuart Bingham v Robbie Williams 15)Mark Williams v Matthew Stevens 2)Ronnie O'Sullivan v Craig Steadman About time McGill & Maflin qualified but tough draws for both, good chances for Day & McManus to reach the second round. As for bottom half, Ding hardly ever plays well in Sheffield, Walden v Dott should be a good match up, while Williams meets Stevens in a repeat of the 2000 final. Bring on Saturday!
Jiggers the Fox Posted 16 April 2015 Posted 16 April 2015 Really looking forward to this. Hopefully Selby produces the goods again! Would also like to see Ding at his best and go far though and it would be long overdue. Overall looks like there are some decent matches in the first round.
Lionator Posted 16 April 2015 Posted 16 April 2015 Could be any one of 4 for me. Selby, Robertson, Trump or Ronnie. Would love to see a repeat of last year for obvious reasons.
isaidno Posted 16 April 2015 Posted 16 April 2015 My Money's on Murphy. Good value at 11/1 and been playing excellent this season. Jamie Jones will give Robertson a good game , he was really impressive when I saw him play in the quarter finals.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 16 April 2015 Posted 16 April 2015 I really hope Ali Carter performs well. Otherwise Selby and Ronnie, Leicester lad connection with the Jester and Ronnie is always just a joy to watch.
Jimothy Posted 17 April 2015 Posted 17 April 2015 I'd love to Selby to break the curse of the Crucible and become the first first time champion to defend the title. As SGLF says though would be good to see Carter do well after what he's been through.
Matt Posted 18 April 2015 Posted 18 April 2015 Is Bernie there?! I keep seeing an bloke in a LCFC tracksuit top and cap with grey hair coming out the side of the cap in the background in the out of focus camera angle! Tbf he looks to clean and is being to quiet for it to be Bernie.
kingfox Posted 18 April 2015 Author Posted 18 April 2015 Is Bernie there?! I keep seeing an bloke in a LCFC tracksuit top and cap with grey hair coming out the side of the cap in the background in the out of focus camera angle! Tbf he looks to clean and is being to quiet for it to be Bernie. He goes every year, have seen & spoke to him before, his name is Brian.
HowardsBulletHeader Posted 19 April 2015 Posted 19 April 2015 Selby really made hard work of it yesterday. He beat Maflin 10-9 in the end after being 8-4 up and then 9-8 behind! That being said Maflin really did have the run of the balls in some of the frames he won, so I think Selby will be disappointed that he let it get to that stage but he will know that he won't always be up against an opponent with such fortune. I've got Selby (cursebreaker) at 8/1 & Murphy at 11/1
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 19 April 2015 Posted 19 April 2015 Selby never seems to do things easily, you'd always fancy him in a decider.
Raj Posted 19 April 2015 Posted 19 April 2015 Is Bernie there?! I keep seeing an bloke in a LCFC tracksuit top and cap with grey hair coming out the side of the cap in the background in the out of focus camera angle! Tbf he looks to clean and is being to quiet for it to be Bernie. I saw this yday too...presume it ain't Bernie cos there was an attractive Asian bird sitting near him,and as we know no one would wanna sit near Bernie!!!
kingfox Posted 19 April 2015 Author Posted 19 April 2015 Good win & bottle from McGill, that's two final frame deciders he has won in the space of five days, plus he made a century in both. Went to see Robertson v Jones today, was a pleasure seeing Robbo's 143 break.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 20 April 2015 Posted 20 April 2015 Ali Carter seemed very emotional walking out just now. Great to see.
Nalis Posted 20 April 2015 Posted 20 April 2015 Bingham v R Williams looks like its going to the wire even at this stage, Williams looks confident.
Jimothy Posted 21 April 2015 Posted 21 April 2015 Anyone see Ding forget he was on for a 147 earlier? http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/snooker/32394837
foxfanazer Posted 21 April 2015 Posted 21 April 2015 Anyone see Ding forget he was on for a 147 earlier? http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/snooker/32394837 Yeah was brilliant
Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 24 April 2015 Posted 24 April 2015 Selby battling well to stay in the tournament, cracking match this.
kingfox Posted 24 April 2015 Author Posted 24 April 2015 Knew McGill had the game, but didn't expect him to play that well, outplayed Selby in every department. Classy performance
leicsmac Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 The Crucible Curse strikes yet again. Shame for Selby.
Crinklyfox Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 I'd never seen McGill play before and was impressed, I think that he would have beaten most players on that performance. I hope that he goes all the way in the tournament now.
Jimothy Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Thought McGill would be dangerous to Selby after his performance at the UK and the way he beat Maguire, but hoped Selby's battling style would see him edge it.
