talking_goldfish Posted 10 June 2015 Posted 10 June 2015 Glenn Johnson been released by Liverpool. Wages could be an issue Glenn Johnson been released by Liverpool. Wages could be an issue Nice to hear the concern, but I'm sure he's got a bob or two in the bank to see him by for a while.
4everfox Posted 10 June 2015 Posted 10 June 2015 Just saying. Don't dismiss a suggestion simply because you haven't seen them play yourself I don't think FM is accurate with regards to contract details, and especially not clauses! I would be very very surprised if he isn't snapped up this summer though as he will also be playing at the Under-21 Euros and clubs that haven't seen him yet will definitely notice him there. A club like ours would have to make a quick move for him before bigger clubs show serious interest. I didn't dismiss the suggestion, quite the opposite actually as I know how accurate football manager can be when it comes to players' ability / potential. I've signed him myself and he turns out to be an immense right winger. As a matter of fact, I'd rather have Sisto then Sako who we are currently linked heavily with.
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 10 June 2015 Posted 10 June 2015 Hangelaand has been released he's a better option than McAuley isn't he?
IsItMuzzy Posted 10 June 2015 Posted 10 June 2015 Di María hasn't had the best season at Man U. Bit of a risky signing but I reckon Nige should get him in. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Lestoh Posted 10 June 2015 Posted 10 June 2015 I've said it before, but I still have absolutely no clue why Shelvey's name keeps getting mentioned. He's a starter in a team competing for Europe, it'd be like selling Cambiasso to Brentford..
Richmondfox Posted 10 June 2015 Posted 10 June 2015 Diaby being released by Arsenal, would be a great signing on a pay as you play contract Have a word. There s nothing great about that as a signing, maybe our sports science team can use him for research seeing as he'll be on the treatment table the whole time. I can't see him signing for anyone above mid championship, he'll never pass a basic medical.
LAprice_ Posted 10 June 2015 Posted 10 June 2015 Hangelaand has been released he's a better option than McAuley isn't he? In league and cup competitions last year: Hangelaand Played: 17 Conceded 25 Goal conceded per game: 1.47 Crystal Palace average: 1.34 per game McAuley Played: 31 Conceded: 39 Goal conceded per game: 1.25 West Brom average: 1.34 per game Huth Played: 14 Conceded: 17 Goal conceded per game: 1.21 Leicester average: 1.45 per game (1.58 per game before Huth) I've got too much time on my hands.

Stadt Posted 10 June 2015 Posted 10 June 2015 You didn't just claim Leicester to be Brentford sized when comparing us to Swansea did you? Yes, SWANSEA! It's not club size though is it? It's the respective standings of the clubs.
4everfox Posted 10 June 2015 Posted 10 June 2015 It's not club size though is it? It's the respective standings of the clubs. In that case Brentford is a ridiculous comparison to make as they are a league below. For all we know this time in 12 months we could be above Swansea. I'm not suggesting for a minute that Shelvey is a realistic potential signing though, he plays regularly for Swansea and will be happy there but if he wasn't happy then Leicester would hardly be an unattractive proposition for him. It certainly doesn't make sense to suggest the equivalent of that is for Cambiasso to go to Brentford because they are in the Championship and I am certain that wouldn't interest him. Apart from the teams that have qualified for Europe the rest of the teams have effectively reset in terms of attractiveness as anything can happen to the league standings next season.

As the other guy stated, it's about the standings. Swansea are aiming for Europe, we're aiming to be in Swansea's position and Brentford are aiming to be in ours - hence making the playoffs. The point is that we're in a position that's a downgrade from Swansea. similar to how Brentford are are a downgrade from us. Chill.

I'm chilled pal the point of the forum is debate and I was just offering food for thought. The point you are making is valid but arguably incorrect.
Lestoh Posted 10 June 2015 Posted 10 June 2015 Alright mate, it seems like you thought I was comparing our club's size to Brentford when compared to Swansea. That wasn't the case - we're bigger than both. Middlesbrough probably would've been a better example, but it wasn't a literal comparison.

I was at first and I stand corrected on that one but anyway I reckon a comparison of Will Hughes of Derby going to Leeds would have been accurate, I wouldn't have argued with that as they are in the same league. Bigger club - Leeds (Leicester). Better team - Derby (Swansea).
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 11 June 2015 Posted 11 June 2015 Having looked through the 50 most likely to leave, I noticed 2 players in there who I would dream to have at Leicester. Joao Moutinho (Monaco) Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Dortmund) I know they won't happen but if they did for the combined fee of 19.5million (according to that list) then I don't think I will be able to contain myself
J.Lisemore Posted 11 June 2015 Posted 11 June 2015 Diaby being released by Arsenal, would be a great signing on a pay as you play contract He doesn't play.

Silverdaz Posted 11 June 2015 Posted 11 June 2015 Might be worth taking a risk on Ricky Von Wolfswinkel I know he struggled at Norwich in the Prem but before trhat he was a quality player
azza1985 Posted 11 June 2015 Posted 11 June 2015 What about yohan cabeye, obviously crystal palace would be favourites but surely we can compete with them and he would be a massive signing for us
Lestoh Posted 11 June 2015 Posted 11 June 2015 We don't have any rights to sell Cambiasso. Has he told us he's staying or leaving yet? People are taking that comment far too literally. It was a comparison of a player of importance to us being passed on to a lesser team. But no, he's still out of contract.

Guest Col city fan Posted 11 June 2015 Posted 11 June 2015 Surely we'd have no chance? I like ya Dan, but it's this kind of comment I find frustrating bud. I see us as a progressive club. A 'big' club if you like. We aren't short of a few bob now. We've retained our status in the top division in the world, IMO. Why shouldn't we now try to properly kick on? If Pearson wanted to go out and sign Mirallas, why not? He could come to Leicester and possibly be a star for the club. We have great fans. The love of Cambiasso is surely unrivalled across the whole of the Premiership. As I've stated before, almost edging on cult-like status. Mirallas could come here and have a bloody good time, being well paid and playing for a gem of a club. That's my opinion anyway. Not only him either. There's more who, in my humble opinion, could now be seeing LCFC as a good option.
