copunk Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Like everyone, I'm stunned by today's news, no one was expecting it and obviously we are all gutted to see nige go!! However we don't really know the true ins and outs as to why he was sacked, like people have said maybe the owner's believe we can do better then what nige had planned, maybe it was down to his son's antics.. personally I trust the owner's decisions and I believe whoever comes in will take us a step further, surely the owner's think this else they wouldn't sack the manager not long before pre season starts, remember we support the club, not one person, get behind whoever comes in and believe in the owner's
The Year Of The Fox Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 No manager is bigger than a club. but Pearson represented everything I want this club to be about.
weller54 Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 No manager is bigger than a club. but Pearson represented everything I want this club to be about. Seriously?.. Including his strange outbursts and Arrogant press conferences.. And perhaps backing his perverted Son?... Not sure he represented EVERYTHING in the best way??
GingerrrFox Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Seriously?.. Including his strange outbursts and Arrogant press conferences.. And perhaps backing his perverted Son?... Not sure he represented EVERYTHING in the best way?? You've basically described Sir Alex Ferguson there. Yes he's a bit of a **** at times, but he was our ****.

The Year Of The Fox Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Seriously?.. Including his strange outbursts and Arrogant press conferences.. And perhaps backing his perverted Son?... Not sure he represented EVERYTHING in the best way?? How can you hold Nigel to account over his adult sons actions? Do I give a monkeys about interviews? Do I fcuk. He gave us players who wore and played for the shirt with pride. They'd run through walls for us and for him. Foxes Never Quit truly became our motto oncevagain last season. So yeh, he does. Or did
The Year Of The Fox Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Can't remember Fergy trying to strangle one of the oppos players or telling a fan to fvck off and die?? I can't. But I know I'd tell many of our fans to do so too. And I do know McArthur said immediately it was blown out of all proportion

gerrytaggart Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 No manager is bigger than a club. Steve Bruce's face is bigger than Hull.
GingerrrFox Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Can't remember Fergy trying to strangle one of the oppos players or telling a fan to fvck off and die?? You sure? You need to take a look at his rap sheet. He throttled Cesc Fabregas for throwing a pizza at him and booted a football boot at Beckham. That's just for a start.
bovril Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 I'm calm as fvck. We'd gone a whole two weeks without a scandal of some sort and I was beginning to get worried.

For urging Mandaric to push out Pearson when we were in the play-offs, something which led to us waiting another three years to get back there (which only happened when we returned, begging, to Pearson)? For supporting the appointment of Sousa? For bringing in Sven? For all of the great transfer moves we made under Sven and sending our staff costs through the roof? Their single best decision was to bring Pearson back. After all, he'd already got us to the play-offs before they took over, their first 18 months in charge simply served to delay the progress he'd already initiated. If anyone trusts them, then it's because they're absurdly rich - their renown boosted by god knows what connections with a Thai monarch who has been accused for decades of suppressing democracy - and we're hopeful that some of the money they burn in the LCFC coffers doesn't entirely go to waste. I see no reason why we should respect their ability to run a football club. After all, it's taken them 5 years and hundreds of million to turn a club placed 25th in the league overall into a club placed 14th in the league. The fairytale success belongs to Pearson, who took us from the 3rd tier to the 1st and kept us there, regardless of what Top and co. did to help or hinder him, and not to our board. Maybe we'll go on to better things, but right now I'd take Martin George, Tom Smeaton, Rodney Parker, John Elsom, Jon Holmes or Milan Mandaric in charge, and half of whatever budget we've got left, if it meant Pearson staying.
Foxymcoxy Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Can't remember Fergy trying to strangle one of the oppos players or telling a fan to fvck off and die?? Neither of those things were a big deal at all. Blown massively out of proportion. I sit right behind the dugout and the fan deserved it and there was nothing in the "strangling" the pictures just looked bad.
Happy Fox Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Clearly the 3 Cretins ****ed up this escapade. But why were they invited to Thailand in the first place?
Bluearmy 316 Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 The owners have fcuk up big style on this one. Who the hell can they appoint to unit the fans. Dyche and big sam won't do that. Can't wait for the preseason games to come so I can sing loud and proud one Nigel Pearson.

Foxhateram Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 I don't care what the ins and outs are. Someone who has given this club success and stability has been sacked after meeting and exceeding his targets. It's despicable. I am fuming that we have yet again plunged ourselves into insecurity and uncertainty. Fuming doesn't come close.

A: Manderic? Seriously? You'd prefer Manderic because our current owners have sacked Pearson? Under Manderic, do you think Pearson would have survived last seasons various troubles? Or that run of 17 games in Spring 2013? Or even that little winless run at the end of 2012? We'd still be in the Championship on the manager merry-go-round with someone like Kenny Jackett or Lee Clarke with an overrated squad somewhere between 8th-16th. B: Aren't you just a little bit curious about he potential for a new manager to push us on to the next level? Pearson is a great manager in my eyes but he's not without his faults (I mean tactically, I couldn't care less what he says to attention seeking fans or gobshite journalists) or limitations. Adkins departure from Southampton was a deeply unpopular decision but they brought in someone much better and look at them now. I'm not saying that is definitely going to happen to us but the right appointment now could usher in the best years of this club's history...or we could fall flat on our face. Oh and lets not pretend that the gap between 25th and 14th is a small one that we would have easily bridged without them. The Championship is one of the most fiercely competitive and open leagues in the world and very difficult to escape from. With or without Pearson, it would've taken years of building to be in a position to not only gain promotion but escape relegation.

The reality is that the club is in a very strong position right now and a lot of that is down to our (now previous) manager. We've made a good start to the summer transfer window and our current players appeared to be united and highly motivated under Pearson. All these thing lead me to think that the wrong decision has been made. We assess decisions by looking at the evidence available to us, not by absently saying 'I trust the owners'.
Collo73 Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Fcuk the owners... Sick of all the talk that the owners can do no wrong. Their here for the money end off so stop kidding yourselves thinking otherwise. Big nige has been the best thing to happen to us in a very long time and was building a really strong squad. I was genuinely excited for the new season before this crap. Their here to promote their country and duty free business they couldnt give a toss about us. Gutted and totally bemused by the owners.

We weren't saying that from December to March!! Undoubtedly this news is connected to the squalid actions of three individuals overseas. Just put yourself in the owners shoes for a minute. You organise and pay for an end of season trip only to be repaid by three idiotic juveniles by their stupidity and all the embarrassment that comes with it. You need to start to understand what that means to the Thais and their beliefs.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 I'm still thoroughly pissed off about this course of action but at least Nige went out on a high. The mother of all Great Escapes won't likely ever be beaten, it was ludicrous
