Frank to be Posted 7 July 2015 Posted 7 July 2015 Much happier times than last season https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_VgrtiDCKPw
The Doctor Posted 7 July 2015 Posted 7 July 2015 This is so gutting. what a legend. The best thing about having nigel was that he'd effectively been here since 2008. The continuity, we knew him, the players knew him, the fans (on the whole) loved him. Why did they cut a good thing short? We will be talking about the pearson years for decades to come. Its a shame they were cut short, as he could have been here for the next 5 years building a legacy. I was sure he was going to be building that legacy too. Can the owners and nige just not come to an agreement? Can we also organise a show of appreciation at the sunderland game for the big man? Can we not do that when he returns with whoever he ends up with or is at least going to be at the ground? Like with the first time he left - get behind the new man, and chant your appreciation for Nige when he's there to receive it.
Webbo Posted 7 July 2015 Posted 7 July 2015 Until it was virtually certain we were going to be promoted from the championship there were still people on here moaning about the sacking of Sven. Do any of you remember what that was like? do you remember sighing and thinking ffs get over it? I hope we're not going to be reading threads like this for another 2 seasons.
Donut Posted 7 July 2015 Posted 7 July 2015 And still it goes on. Lets face it, its never actually going to go away is it. No one knows what next season would have been like with Pearson in charge, no one knows what next season will be like with the new manager. He could be worse, he would be better. Pearson could have gone on a big losing streak and sent us down, could have improved us. We could improve at a much quicker rate now hes gone. It could have been his dismissal was uncalled for, it could have been his dismissal was absolutely called for. And frankly im more inclined given the nature of the owners and their high degree of patience it was the latter. But the hyperbole of sadness and mourning goes on, and on, and on.
lgfualol Posted 7 July 2015 Posted 7 July 2015 I wonder if he still thinks of me, like I think of him
J.Lisemore Posted 7 July 2015 Posted 7 July 2015 I thought I had adjusted to the idea of an LCFC without Nigel but this has just brought it all back. What a shit decision.. You and me both. Even though its still early days, I don't think it's gonna get much better than this for a long long time. On a positive note, we still haven't appointed a disappointing manager yet.
TheSomersetFox Posted 7 July 2015 Posted 7 July 2015 I'm not enjoying the negativity from all you teenagers who think Pearson is the only manager in the world who could ever do a good job for Leicester, either, but I'm positing because I want to spread a more positive message so that hopefully when the opening day comes the crowd will be that little bit less negative. What are all you negative nancies contributing apart from irrational misery? You're banging your head against a wall Frank. There are some on here who would walk over hot coals for Sir Nigel. And will berate any alternative option. I'm dissapointed he's gone. But the forum remains a rather bizarre place to be. There's disappointment and upset. That's understandable. Then there's this. we've lost our best manager in decades afer many showers of shit, we shared incredible lows and highs with Nigel and came out of them on top. He not only saved us from league 1 but set us up to have an incredibly positive future in the prem, and he's been sacked out of the blue with names like Cotteril and Lennon being chucked about as favourites. I'm definitely not doom and gloom, and i think with the right appointment we can contine to grow, but if you cant understand the extent of the disappointment in losing Nige when we were looking forward to a season more than any other for the past god knows how long then you're bloody mad. we're not only upset that Nige is gone because he was a hero for many, we're upset because his departure could be hugely damaging to the club.
steveherbe Posted 7 July 2015 Posted 7 July 2015 Not all us are teenagers.. Don't be so judgemental. Probably watching city a lot longer than you. Don't agree with anything you say. Deal with it Seconded. Well said.

Again (how many times)..stop being so bloody pessimistic! It could just be that we CONTINUE to develop as a club. There are posters on here tipping us to go down three weeks before the season has even started! It's ridiculous stuff going on.

You've spent god knows how many years calling for balance and now you want blind optimism. Surely you can see that there is a very reasonable argument that we could end up being relegated, it's a depressing situation yes, but if you're obsessed with balance and looking at the bigger picture as you claim to be then you surely shouldn't just be ignoring the possibility that sacking a highly successful manager may damage the club.
foxoffderby Posted 7 July 2015 Posted 7 July 2015 Seconded. Well said. hes a dick started ignore everything he says just a WUM

DT has probably got it right. Back on ignore for the meantime.

Sacking Nige - ridiculous Not having a replacement ready - ridiculous Letting Cambiasso mess us about - ridiculous Messing up next season (potentially) - ridiculous Dont often agree with you Col, but you nailed this one

Donut Posted 7 July 2015 Posted 7 July 2015 The people who are using the "blind optimism" quotes are the ones who have blind negativity. The squad has improved from last seasons squad, the owners are investing heavily, we have a years more Premier League experience, we have the potential of a classy replacement like a Ranieri or Hiddink who have done a lot more good jobs than bad ones and have managed such a spectrum of players that they command huge respect, and there are more people on here thinking the oblivion is nigh than last preseason when we were wet behind the ears and were making do with Paul Konchesky, Matt Upson and Danny Simpson. Lets just calm down. I wish we could just somehow make a pact that we dont post any more videos, open any more threads that just fan these flames over and over.

J.Lisemore Posted 7 July 2015 Posted 7 July 2015 Youve negatively prejudiced the new manager already. Have you seen the names being bandied about? We stay up I'll be amazed. This is EXACTLY what we didn't need as a football club. Can't wait for the revamp of the squad to start again, oh the joys.

Can't wait for the revamp of the squad to start again, oh the joys. Ranieri and Hiddink have been bandied about, i wouldnt be sad to see either of those two come in. And why does everyone assume the new manager will come here on a mission to rip everything up? Where does this assumption come from?

Well, you could make it all go away in one fellow swoop, Webbo. The fact of the matter is that there's a huge portion of the LCFC fanbase that has grown to adore Nigel Pearson for what he's done for the club, how he's been at the head of one of our most stable and fruitful periods in the club's history as of late and that group is willing to look past his on-field and off-field antics because regardless of their severity and how the media made it all look bigger and somewhat worse, he's managed to keep us in the top flight. And for that he deserves respect. And probably even more than that. So, please. Let people mourn. Let people try to make sense of it. You hate the "hysteria". We get it. Thank you. No need to be so repetitious in your disgust at the situation on here.

And why does everyone assume the new manager will come here on a mission to rip everything up? Where does this assumption come from? Mate it's ALL assumption. Every bit of it.No one has a clue whether the next bloke will be great or terrible. Whether he will change the squad, or leave it alone. Whether we will start well, or badly, whether we get relegated, or get Europe. Not the faintest clue. People are just pissed that Pearson has left, so will mourn him by being complete pessimists and giving no other incumbent a chance. Assumption, assumption, assumption. THe post from Steve herbs above being a good example. I do agree we now need to get a manager, the right one, to get sorted and to get cracking.
Donut Posted 7 July 2015 Posted 7 July 2015 What about we open a seperate forum on here, we have the transfer forum, general sport, general chat. Cant we open a mourning forum and just put everything in there. Sorted.

biggs Posted 7 July 2015 Posted 7 July 2015 Likely you'll be reading Threads on Nige for years. He did us well and will be considered by many as one of the best managers we've ever had. The next one better get results or he'll be tossed under the bus very quickly.
Carl the Llama Posted 7 July 2015 Posted 7 July 2015 The people who were able to see what Nigel did for the club are upset that he's left and think that until the manager situation is resolved, our future is likely to be bleaker for it. The people who were able to see how arrogant and tactically inept Nigel is are pleased he's gone and think that our future looks rosier now that we have a chance to choose someone with a more media-friendly persona who will deliver line-ups that we all agree with all of the time.
