It was a night to remember for Leicester City captain Wes Morgan, who helped Jamaica to the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup Final following a 2-1 semi-final win over the USA on Wednesday evening.

The Foxes' defender played 90 minutes in the victory, which saw the Reggae Boyz take a two-goal lead into the break, before the tournament co-hosts pulled one back after half-time.

It took 30 minutes for Morgan’s nation to open the scoring, with Vancouver Whitecaps forward Darren Mattocks converting at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.

And just five minutes later, Jamaica doubled their lead as former West Bromwich Albion attacker Giles Barnes made it 2-0 before the break.

A much-improved second half performance from the USA followed, with captain Michael Bradley pulling a goal back on 47 minutes.

But a defiant defensive performance from Morgan and his men saw Jamaica advance to the final of the Gold Cup at the expense of the defending champions.

The Reggae Boyz will face either Mexico or Panama in the final on Sunday 26 July in Philadelphia, so be sure to check back into LCFC.com to keep up-to-date with Morgan’s international progress.

The 1st penalty for Mexico was very dodgy.

It's an amazing achievement for Jamaica and I really hope Wes and gang win.

Unfortunately I think the tournament officials have other ideas... If anyone has seen Mexico's last few games they'd agree. Expect dodgy penalties and red cards for jamaica.

If anyone is wondering "Ladrones" means thieves, no idea what "Corruptos" means though.

So say Jamaica beat Mexico in the final... Wes wouldn't come back and start for the August 8th match, correct? Ranieri has commented on giving him some time off. But that being said if they WIN against Mexico then Wes gets called up again in the fall sometime for the Confederations Cup Play-off spot.

A friend of mine works in football circles and directly with Morgan's representatives, saw him over the weekend and he said Wes is pretty concerned about being away from Leicester given all the changes. Obviously he is delighted to be going so far with Jamaica but maybe he is realising with Pearson gone that he won't be as automatic as he once was. Either way congrats on getting to the final, what a win against the US.

I think he's every reason to be concerned as for the sake of a micky mouse cup he could well lose his place. I would certainly have Huth and Was ahead of him anyway but if Liam can impress he keeps the shirt.

It's on Fox Sports 1 in the United States, so probably streams out there somewhere.

If Jamaica wins, the playoff with the U.S. will be October 9, during an international break for us.

Sorry for my ignorance, but what's the play off with the U.S. for?

Ah is that because the Gold Cup is every two years, so they need this to decide which team goes forward to the Confed Cup? Makes sense now.
