Sharpe's Fox Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 That's fantastic, where's it from? David Squires cartoon. http://www.theguardian.com/football/picture/2015/may/05/david-squires-on-chelsea-premier-league-champions-2014-15
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 Sums up this kind of thing perfectly I think he'd do quite well. Would know the plsyers, would be respected and don't think he would change a lot. This. Well... I don't know if he'd do well or not (be a massive risk not knowing anything about him as a coach or manager) but he comes across as a very intelligent down-to-earth bloke and always seemed like a leader on the pitch. Also doesn't seem like the kind of guy to come in and shake everything up for the sake of it How's the candidate list looking now? Allardyce: doesn't want job. Ranieri: publicly said he wants job (?) - not given it yet, probably means owners aren't after him MON: could be just what we need, though seems to have cooled somewhat over the weekend. Apparently wants Keane with him though, however it seems (quite rightly) the owners want the rest of the backroom staff unchanged. Hiddink: wants to be a supervisor, whatever the **** that is. Lennon: still a bit of an unknown. Character almost certainly would eventually bother the owners. Preki: Preki. Di Matteo: unlikely. Dyche: poor. Cotterill: no chance. Schmeichel is a likeable character, smart and would already be familiar with our staff - wouldn't be dead against this. Does strike me as someone who could eventually be a good coach, but it'd be a massive risk... the owners would need a backup shortlist written up as soon as he's appointed if it's evident after a dozen games he knows bugger all about management though.
Strokes Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 A safe pair of hands at the helm, what's not too like?
Fez of Mahrez Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 You'd have thought rule one would be: "No more players' dads"

Kitchandro Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 Even though this means nothing on the face of it, it does highlight what a shambles the situation is.
enmac Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 Has a goalkeeper ever gone on to be a top manager?Dino Zoff, Jock Wallace.

Sacking Pearson and having this lot to choose from feels like the owners playing Deal or No Deal have turned down an offer from the banker of £249,999 and the only boxes left are 1p, 2p, 10p, 50p and £250,000
Guest bss9401 Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 OK Martin, pack it in now. Stop playing up and tell everyone you are coming back.

Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 Stringer is the fat mental one who always wants a hug who everyone hates
Webbo Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 Schmeichel is at a lot of the games to see his son so it's likely that the owners have met him and know him . I'm sure they'll give him an interview, if only to be polite.
conLAD logan Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 Sol Campbell to apply and then blames being turned down on his race
foxfanazer Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 Sol Campbell to apply and then blames being turned down on his raceUnfair to not appoint someone just because they're not the quickest
foxfanazer Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 If he does come I've got a great idea for a chant Schmeichel, Schmeichel, Schmeichel etc (Whilst pointing at him)
Guest Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 How about singing Cat Stevens' Father and Son ...and when he's inevitably sacked 3 months later, Glasvegas Daddy's Gone
Bagworthblue Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 why has he taken this long to apply for it if he wanted a genuine chance at it? cos he thought he had no chance until he saw 32 others turn it down and it was getting down to Preki
