Ashley Posted 24 August 2015 Posted 24 August 2015 Any decent pubs or a pub we can take over like the Manchester in Blackpool?
NewquayFox Posted 24 August 2015 Posted 24 August 2015 Moon in the square, Wetherspoons pub in the centre also another one round the corner called Florence Shelley or something like that also a Lloyds bar, Bar So is a lively DJ bar for later on.... Up the City....
joeasis Posted 24 August 2015 Posted 24 August 2015 Moon in the square, the Mary Shelley, there's a slug in lettuce in town, or if you fancy a beach view Aruba, but that's a bit less pub like. All pubs near ground in boscombe are home fans only.
Soar Fox Posted 24 August 2015 Posted 24 August 2015 Steveherbe mentioned the Percy Florence Shelley and Mello Mello.
KFS Posted 24 August 2015 Posted 24 August 2015 Villa took over a pub on Lansdowne roundabout when they came down, but that's absolutely miles away. Moon in the Square would be a lot of fun, but that's a very long walk!

Lionheart10 Posted 25 August 2015 Posted 25 August 2015 Went down there season before last, none of the pubs with doormen on would let any Leicester in,they were checking ID.Found one pub called Printworks I think that had no doormen on at all the whole weekend, decent boozer as well.
Lionheart10 Posted 25 August 2015 Posted 25 August 2015 Sorry it was Print Room and it's in Echo Building on Richmond Hill.
steveherbe Posted 25 August 2015 Posted 25 August 2015 The Christopher Creek? Sums up their fanbase really. Is there a pub in Bournemouth you DON'T know? Percy Shelley and Mello Mello still favourites for me
KFS Posted 25 August 2015 Posted 25 August 2015 Sorry it was Print Room and it's in Echo Building on Richmond Hill. Not sure that'd fit us all in mate. Nice place though. We went to the Shelley last time we played them as Steve H has suggested. 15 mins from the ground. Not sure if they'll be a bit more stringent with us this time round though. Moon in the Square is my shout but it's a taxi job unless you fancy an hour walk.
sylofox Posted 25 August 2015 Posted 25 August 2015 The Christopher Creek? Sums up their fanbase really. Up Shite Creek. Would describe the team
boots60 Posted 26 August 2015 Posted 26 August 2015 Worth a visit if you're into music nostalgia is the beacon hotel up towards west cliff, The bar walls are covered with pop memorabilia from the past 50 years. Gold discs, signed pics gig posters, even Noels union jack guitar. From the Beatles & Stones through to Kasabian. A bit out of the way but worth a detour.
hornyhollthefox123 Posted 26 August 2015 Posted 26 August 2015 Someone recommend somewhere central and everyone just agree upon it. I've no bloody idea where to go at this rate !
Soar Fox Posted 26 August 2015 Posted 26 August 2015 Someone recommend somewhere central and everyone just agree upon it. I've no bloody idea where to go at this rate ! Sir Percy Florence Shelley & Mello Mello. They are next to each other. I'll be in there from about 10am
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 26 August 2015 Posted 26 August 2015 Someone recommend somewhere central and everyone just agree upon it. I've no bloody idea where to go at this rate ! The problem is that the ground isn't actually in Bournemouth, its in Boscombe. So you have to drink in the Mello Mello or the spoons next door or get a cab over from Bournemouth town centre.

And what's the chances of getting in both there & the weatherspoons?
hornyhollthefox123 Posted 26 August 2015 Posted 26 August 2015 Sounds good. Both are only a few hundred metres from ground by the looks of things?
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 26 August 2015 Posted 26 August 2015 Is it a far walk from mello mello to the ground? And what's the chances of getting in both there & the weatherspoons? 10 minutes max! Season before last there were doormen and police around but no trouble, should be fine.
Soup Posted 26 August 2015 Posted 26 August 2015 My hotel is a 20 minute walk from those two so that's not bad.
NewquayFox Posted 26 August 2015 Posted 26 August 2015 60 million postcards wasn't a bad boozer either....
sphericalfox Posted 26 August 2015 Posted 26 August 2015 60 million postcards wasn't a bad boozer either.... It is. A taxi from town is as far really as Landsdowne Road roundabout pubs. There are several there, not sure about whether they'll turn away away supporters. Sharkeys is a decent pool hall, and just up from it is O'Neil's, or the Litten Tree is a fairly biggish pub. (again don't know about whether they'll let you in.) All if you don't want to wait for a taxi in town. Those pubs will be packed anyways with regular tourists. There loads of buses that go from Landsdowne Road to Boscombe. It's a 10-15mins walk from Boscombe itself to the stadium.
NewquayFox Posted 26 August 2015 Posted 26 August 2015 Loads of small pubs about but as Sphericalfox said, it depends if they let fans in, nice and orderly and your in with a chance..... Up the City......
isleofwightfox Posted 26 August 2015 Posted 26 August 2015 I've read that closest station to the ground is pokes down and the only pubs that let away fans in around there are the Percy spoons and Mello Mello which are about 10 minutes walk from the ground. Both are no-colours though
