Liam Moore - Bristol City

As others have said, kept being given a chance and lost his place every time.

Wasn't ever that good and was considered better because he came from the academy.

Think it was more the case that he was playing above himself for periods, to a level that he just couldn't sustain.

I remember reading something where Pearson was saying that his emergence had been a bit of surprise and he wasn't one who was tipped to make it but had forced the issue in many ways with his progression.

Fair play to the lad, for spells he looked very good (never to the point of England talk as some mentioned) and I don't think it was a case of him getting more leeway because he came through the academy, just that he was playing out of his skin so was never going to maintain it. Maybe if he's let his focus slip a bit it might also explain why he can't keep that level up.

Injured isn't he?

I liked Moore, still rate him. Solid enough in our Championship winning team then went straight into a PL team which is tough enough for anyone (ask Vardy and Drinkwater) never mind a young lad.

Think some of you are harsh on him with the "overhyped" stuff.

For his age I still think he's pretty tidy to be honest. Not everyone is John Stones at twenty. A lot of defending is experience. I thought he started last year well. Let's not forget he was part of the team that got very credible results against Everton and Arsenal.

I can't remember Moore being over-hyped. He played well for us at times - particularly as a centre-back - and not so well at others.

For me he lacks a bit of height and pace but could evolve into a solid support player. He's got decent control and a big strength is his courage and determination to get a block in.

He needs to stay fit and keep learning. Perhaps the Premiership is a long shot but he can earn a good living if he stays motivated and keeps improving.

He's strong, brave and fairly quick, but his decision making and 'guile' aren't quite up to scratch yet.

He'll do well to play a few seasons at a lower level, learn the tricks of the trade and with the attributes he's got he could be a very solid defender when he gets to 26.

The difficulty with being a defender is you have to spend years doing the boring work and doing it almost perfectly, every mistake you make is noticed and everything good you do is taken for granted ..... become absolutely rock solid reliable and then you're a decent player.

Whereas a striker hits the back of the net a few times, his confidence sky rockets and he scores some more and he's noticed and is a great player very quickly, his mistakes are instantly forgotten .....

Who'd wanna be a defender!!!

his fate is in his hands.. he needs to take a hard look at jamie vardy.

Spot on, if he wants to go for it and work to get his place back, he could be a decent top end champ/low end prem centre half. If not, he could sink a lot lower.

This Kid was a Starter in our first team at the beginning of last season and a England U21, Its almost like he has fell off the face of the earth. I think players work harder than you think after all the competition for places in top tier football is immense sometimes they just get found out and end up playing League one football for the rest of the careers not that there is much wrong with that, but I can never see him playing for Leicester again.

still think he'd be perfect for our right back spot

Not at all (imo.) Everytime he plays there it's so uncomfortable and you can tell it's a centre half playing right back. Not good enough on the ball and going forward to be a right back (especially at this level)

the first job of a full back is to defend and with Mahrez on our right that is a must, its why De Laet got dropped

He's certainly been very good for us at times. If anything, he perhaps lacks a bit of Huth style dominance and physical presence. Not the tallest CB either. Would probably suit a back three.

Don't think he's quick enough as a full-back. You need pace and stamina to provide the necessary support for a counter-attacking side. Many teams compromise to their cost but that's what's needed. It's important for central defensive covering at times too, especially at Leicester where we've got a slowish-turning centre-back in Huth and the last thing he needs is to be exposed by quick people exploiting space behind him.

If you mean right back in the changing room spot then I agree.

Do you ever remember him playing right back?! He was absolutely atrocious in that position, and this was at a time he looked solid and confident at CB... playing him RB with his recent performances would be disastrous.
