Guest Posted 18 September 2015 Share Posted 18 September 2015 I'm not a "car " man. Other than a Range Rover for a while I've never had anything other than a car that gets me from A to B. Perhaps should be in the I confess thread but last June in England is the first time that I've ever had my car cleaned (and I've never washed my car in my life). Couldn't believe the incredibly low price charged in Leicester for a full outside inside clean. The car had 5 years worth of dirt inside and out (including the dogs) cleaned for about a tenner! I remember a mate of mine had a red AX GT, he put a straight through exhaust on it, god it was unbearable even inside the car! So loud. Another lad had a white Metro Turbo, and an old school mate had a grey Renault 5 turbo, ended up being the death of him but I've no doubt he went out with a smile on his face! I bought it from a dealer, drove it home and it was pissing oil all over the drive. It took it back for them to fix and when I got it back again it was just the same, the wankers wouldn't touch it again after that, cost me a packet to get it right. Mine needed new front wheel bearings every 4000 miles, blew a head gasket, wouldn't start when hot, jumped out of 2nd gear and that electronic dash was crazy. The 'computer' voice that came out with moronic warnings never ceased to amaze. I sold it to a bloke from New Zealand who was touring the uk and was surprised he got to the end of the street before it broke down

Jattdogg Posted 20 September 2015 Share Posted 20 September 2015 Keep in mind this is in canada but the first car i bought with my own money was a 2003 Nissan Sentra (bought in 07). Loved it but unfortunately the engine crapped out in 2012. Replaced it with a 2010 honda civic "sport" and also got a 2009 Honda CRV. Not sexy powerful rides but damn reliable. Cant say the dodge/chryslers ive driven (cars my dad got me) were anywhere close on the reliability chart.

Costock_Fox Posted 20 September 2015 Share Posted 20 September 2015 Had a green 106 which drove like a tank but was a decent first car. Pretty much ran it into the ground when I sold it, doors sounded like they were falling off, seats were ****ed etc. Had 3 fiestas since and never had any major problems and I love my ST at the minute. Col city fan Posted 20 September 2015 Share Posted 20 September 2015 Mine was my dad's Mark 2 Ford Escort estate. But I've had loads..he worst one being a Datsun Cherry which I paid 100 quid for and the engine blew as I was driving home. I've had some beauties also... A red Escort RS turbo springs to mind although I was FOREVER getting stopped by the coppers...not for doing owt wrong..just because I was a young man driving an RS. Now I own a Rover 75 2.5 v6... Which drives like a magic carpet and which has just been put away for the winter. And a Fiesta 1.6 Ghia Auto. An 08 plate with only 15k on the clock. That's a peppy little thing. I've always loved cars and have wasted an absolute bloody fortune on them. Had a green 106 which drove like a tank but was a decent first car. The old Citreon's were a bag of shite to be honest. The ONLY car I've ever been in that's literally scared me was a pristine Renault 5 GT turbo. So light and quick that I nearly crapped myself when I first drove it (my mates car). Yes mate is indeed Beautiful cars aren't they. Safe up and get a Focus RS mate. Thems the dogs...
