Naa Trumpnis well too liberal and not hard-line, racist, sexist, anti gay, anti minority to win any votes in IndiA

Trust me, they have plenty of MP's that are far worse then Trump. At least the US have only one conservative type party, all of IndiA's parties are hard-line nationalist and majority consensus.

We all forget Modis past, he compared the killing of innocent Muslims being killed to that a death of a death of a stray puppy.

I'd sign and ban  Donald trump from the U.S if i could!

And that's the thing about America. it's the land of the free. Just as Muslims are ( or should be ) free to come here, he is free to have any opinion he wants.

Of course, he can say whatever he wants. Doesn't mean there doesn't have to be consequences.

He is spouting awful shite. I had enough of hearing Rush on the news constantly, now this imbecile is 10x worse. Is it just for effect? Is he 'trolling'? Who knows, who cares, he is being an ass.

As a golf nut myself and to be fair to Trump, he's built a brilliant new golf complex in Aberdeenshire and his investment in Turnberry will make it truly world class. I'll move on now and stay away from his politics..

What he said was ridiculous but banning someone for having stupid views? Really?

It's hardly without precedent, is it?

All sorts of people are refused entry to this country for having unpleasant views. Wasn't that right-wing dutch guy?

You and I can have stupid views. But his are encouraging bigotry on a mass scale. It's beyond having personal views to inciting hatred.

If you're inciting violence fair enough.

It's possible that Trump could be US president one day. Are we going to ban him then?

Judging by the reactions here and in America it's not encouraging any bigotry in anyone who isn't bigoted already.

It's justifying their bigotry and encouraging them. Encouraging bigots to be bigots isn't a good thing.

Didn't  some one get thrown out of Britain for making hate speeches? There were plenty that agreed with it and were labelng him more than stupid.

You either believe in freedom of speech for peoples' whose views you despise or you don't believe in freedom of speech at all.

Inciting violence Kenneth, there is a difference.

There has never been, anywhere, 100% freedom of speech, especially in a public setting.

The unfortunate thing is a lot of people are not well informed. They don't go out of their little bubble to find out whether what their Dad, Pastor, Politician, News Reader is saying is true.

Now if there was full information available to all and people were rational, then I'd agree. However, there isn't and people are not. Therefore, there has to be some level of controls on speech.

No, he was thrown out because he was wanted in Yemen for blowing people up. He was arrested here for making speeches in the street where he encouraged people to kill other people based on their religion, if Trump ever does that I'll join you in the campaign to bar him from Britain as well.

Until then he has as much right to freedom of speech and to travel to this country as anybody else does from America.

As an aside I'm actually rather worried about the consistent attacks on free speech by so many people these days. Not just this either, but amongst the young, even the Oxford Union has now had to call in security to some events to throw out hecklers and remove leafleters on campus who try and silence anyone with a different opinion, the explosion in this over the last few years should worry anybody who values debate and freedom of speech.

Ironically the same people are often the ones who complain about government denying them freedoms, they do a good job of denying it themselves.
