GaelicFox Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Club needs to put him on a huge contract 120k a week and he will stay for ever His current deal is pathetic and he can buy that out He won't but because he has been a loyal pro every team he played for Pay him right and he will retire from here a legend
GaelicFox Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 He is worth 30m to us and we don't need the money. No team will pay that for a 28 (29 in early January) year old whose game is based on pace. The only issue would be if he turns round and says he wants to go to a bigger team which then lowers the fee we could get. Not sure he is that kind of player though. He has no history of doing that , he won't , but we will need to pay him right
Heymister2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 What difference is £40m going to make to a Thai billionaire and chin ease royals when your going to have to spend half of it on a replacement that more then likely on current form weren't be as good! Also from what I gather Kante is on 65k and vardy signed his new deal around the same time! Must be more then 40k

whetstonefox Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 If he's sensible he will stay till the summer, why put a Euro 2016 spot at risk by being a benchwarmer? However players are known not to be sensible! If we can get to Feb 1st with Vardy and Mahrez still as Foxes, we'll have had a good transfer window, even if he signs no defenders!
Strokes Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 He left stocksbridge for Halifax cos they offered him a better packageYeah but when you are hungry a Twix and a packet of crisps is a pretty tempting deal.
davieG Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Jamie Vardy and the Celtic link How he might have gone there and some other stuff, seems we did well to get him. http://videocelts.com/2015/11/blogs/latest-news/jamie-vardy-and-the-celtic-link?
Bayfox Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/473185/Leicester-slap-price-tag-on-Jamie-Vardy-as-Man-United-and-Arsenal-target-defender Albeit the Daily Star coming out with this exclusive headline that shitty little toilet paper but Are you getting a bit worried now all these reports that Leicester have slapped a £15m price tag on Jamie Vardy with the likes of Spurs Liverpool Arsenal Manchester Utd and now Borussia Dortmund are interested in our top scoring record breaking little staring to me I'm sure when Claudio mentioned a lot of money it was a hell of a lot more than £15m I know this is a shite paper that generally writes shite but Could we lose him to one of these big boys in January or can Claudio keep Jamie's feet on the ground and get him to sign a better deal with us? I sure hope he stays as I'm sure our defensive line would absolutely hate to see Jamie running at them! Let's also hope all this press regarding a big move doesn't unsettle Jamie and he keeps scoring week in week out but I know fleetwood would be rubbing their hands together at the thought of a big money move for Jamie as I'm sure they have a pretty decent sell on clause with any move !! Defender lol Whoops just seen that bit relates to Chilwell. But that headline is a bit bizarre
Guest Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 I can't see anyone taking him. He's at the top of his game now but he's not a real madrid type player, a "big" English team in the doldrums may make an offer but I reckon Vardy stays. Mahrez, however, will be snapped up in the summer for 35m.
Gerard Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Club needs to put him on a huge contract 120k a week and he will stay for ever His current deal is pathetic and he can buy that out He won't but because he has been a loyal pro every team he played for Pay him right and he will retire from here a legend I don't know where you got that from but he can't buy his contract out. He has this season and another two full seasons after that left on his contract by which time he'll be six months away from being 32. Talk of £15m is preposterous when you consider the money next season we will get from the TV deal. We are under no pressure to sell whatsoever and we've spent £15m on Kramaric & Okazaki this season so it's not a "life changing" amount of money for us. Even West Brom declined a £20m+ offer for Berahino. I believe Vardy knows which side his bread is buttered and this Leicester team is geared towards him being the focal point and getting the goals and my guess is he will stay and be offered improved terms next summer to see his career out at Leicester with a one year extension and double his money for £80k a week. Moving to a bigger club will see him not as the main man and maybe a bit part player and six months later he could well regret his decision. If someone is going to force a deal to take him from us then they really need to sway Vardy's head and make Leicester a proper offer starting at no less than £30m. Selling Vardy could be the beginning of the end for us as it states our ambitions to potential future players.

I very much doubt that Vardy is the sort of player that would hold a club to ransom. It's not like he cost much where the owners would have to be forced to sell to recoup and he's on a longish contract and the wrong age to risk rotting in the reserves. I also doubt that the owners have bought players to improve and become valuable assists to then flip or bend over the first chance the big clubs/agents recognise what we already know about our team.
