glenelgfox Posted 24 October 2015 Posted 24 October 2015 Surely with the financial strength of the club due to our owners we do not have to sell players for cash flow or to balance the books as was the case in past top flight campaigns. If we sell our stars we will forever be trying to avoid relegation in the PL rather than building a solid base as a mid table club then use our financial position to grow furthxer and challenge in the upper echelons of the PL. Can't see either Vardy or Mahrez moving but if their current form is consistent for remainder of season then a number of big clubs will no doubt hover like vultures to splash out the €€€ / £££ to get them.
Freesolo Posted 24 October 2015 Posted 24 October 2015 I don't thtnk vardy is going anywhere but do you think with him now a England regular his valuation will have Increased dramatically not to mention his current form.
Mark_w Posted 24 October 2015 Posted 24 October 2015 Don't want to tempt fate, but if he keeps scoring he'll take the consecutive goal/game record from Ruud Van Nistelrooy when we play Manchester United. Would be amazing to see the reaction on Red Cafe after they labeled him a one match wonder.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 24 October 2015 Posted 24 October 2015 Think realistically we need to give this guy a new and improved contract at the earliest opportunity.
HankMarvin Posted 24 October 2015 Posted 24 October 2015 http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/tottenham-plotting-surprise-january-swoop-6699341 15 million that's one of benteke legs
Larry_LCFC Posted 24 October 2015 Posted 24 October 2015 Tottenham are barely a step up imo. Plus he would be battling against Kane like he is in the England situation. We can achieve great things here. He'd be mad to go anywhere when he basically has a free roam.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 24 October 2015 Posted 24 October 2015 10 goals in 12 games sums the mirror up fvcking awful like literally I wouldn't wipe my arse with it.
Ric Flair Posted 24 October 2015 Posted 24 October 2015 http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/tottenham-plotting-surprise-january-swoop-6699341 15 million that's one of benteke legs What an embarrassing article. 10 goals in 12 games? He's played 10 games and scored 10 goals. Prats
Corky Posted 24 October 2015 Posted 24 October 2015 Even if you go on last 12 league games it's incorrect because he scored in the final match of last season. And they'll probably give us Harry Kane in return after one goal in 20 games.

jimmeh Posted 24 October 2015 Posted 24 October 2015 You might think it's an embarrassing article that isn't true... But Southampton have bid for vardy in the past. And that was while he was playing pretty poorly for us. Think it was when we were In the championship perhaps. Never really made the news but John percy tweeted it. Was on a deadline day. That was while pochettino was Southampton manager. And where is he now?

Rincewind Posted 24 October 2015 Posted 24 October 2015 If he went to Chelsea we could get him back on loan.
SecretPro Posted 24 October 2015 Posted 24 October 2015 If he went to Chelsea we could get him back on loan. Why on earth would he want to go to Chelsea? He had enough of the relegation battle last year!
Larry_LCFC Posted 24 October 2015 Posted 24 October 2015 The bottom line is, the owners want success. They want to achieve great things. Right now, there is no one better to get goals in the premier league. They don't need the money and I really can't seeing them selling him for anything short of an extortionate fee.
Captain... Posted 24 October 2015 Posted 24 October 2015 10 in 12 could be that we have played 12 games, 10 in the league and 2 in the cup, but obviously Vardy didn't play in the cup. Also £15m? Why would we sell? This is why he isn't going anywhere. Nobody is going to pay much more than that due to his age, £20m is too much for a player with only a few years left especially one who relies so heavily on pace, but we aren't going to sell unless it is for £30m plus.
Guest seanfox778 Posted 24 October 2015 Posted 24 October 2015 Saw in the paper rumours on Sky that Spurs are planning a surprise January swoop. They should stick with their hotshot superstar Harry 'goals' Kane. I'd be so disappointed if we did consider it as you just know that no other team would play to his strengths and he'd just waste away. He made a little comment at the end of his interview about scoring a few more to catch Lineker up, hopefully a tiny hint that he sees his future here. He's a star here and he is what we're all about at the minute, imo his best route to the Euro's is staying and playing exactly the way he is.
EverybodyDannsNow Posted 24 October 2015 Posted 24 October 2015 We might receive an offer in Jan for him from the likes of Spurs and Liverpool, but there is not a chance we would accept it. We are in a powerful position. Our owners aren't exactly strapped for cash so we have the power to resist bids for our best players. The owners have a vision of getting Leicester into the top 6, and the only way that vision will be fulfilled is if we keep our best players. If we buckled to a £15M bid for Vardy I would be seriously concerned about the commitment and ambition of our owners.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 25 October 2015 Posted 25 October 2015 Think the one thing everyone is overlooking is the potential of Vardy wanting to go to Liverpool or Spurs. You can all say 'yeah but why would he want to?' but in reality it's pretty obvious why he might want to, that's the pragmatic truth of the situation.
Rincewind Posted 25 October 2015 Posted 25 October 2015 He has had to overcome a lot of self doubt during his time here. Pearson the backroom coaching staff and now Raneri has installed a lot of confidence into him and he knows it. I think he also knows he may not be treated the same way by other managers and his confidence and form could fall if not playing each week. He knows he is a favourite here both with the coaching staff and fans so I can see him wanting to stay if only to repay the club for the faith they showed in him. Well I hope so anyway.
GloverFox Posted 25 October 2015 Posted 25 October 2015 15M for vardy is a total joke figure .... almost a bloody insult, apart from the fact it is too pathetic to take seriously ! As for going to tottingham? Hahaha .... I'm afraid I would have to laugh at anyone that even considers that a step up into the big time ( big time 'average' maybe!) .... No, I think in the summer a genuine big club will be calling, with real money and the very best to Jamie as he has to make the call for himself.

No, I think in the summer a genuine big club will be calling, with real money and the very best to Jamie as he has to make the call for himself. Agree with all of this. I'm afraid I can see one of the so-called 'big clubs' making a serious offer for Vardy. For me, a 'serious offer' would have to be anything upwards of 20 million quid. And I wouldn't be too surprised if Liverpool offload some of their rubbish up front, and come in for Jamie. If so, the club would have to consider it (based upon the size of the offer) and Vardy would have to consider it (based upon the size of the salary). All speculation yes, but I'd not be surprised to see it happen. Vardy gives you something that pretty much no other striker in the Prem is giving at the moment. Raw pace. He's not just quick. He's lightning. And he's finally sorting out his finishing too.
