Vardy allegedly to consider his foxes future in the summer

The story states vardy was valued at £15 million in January or whenever West brom wanted him. His game has improved since then so obviously his value has too. I would say he's worth £25 million. He's 29 in January and the moment he loses his pace he's pretty much finished. And we have seen many times before after a player has a serious injury... They lose there pace a bit. Look at Michael Owen. So it is a risk with vardy.

Strikes me as his agent looking for a more lucrative contract while Vardy's in good form.

Why did Southampton enquire about him in January 2014 then. When pochettino was there manager.

10 in 12 could be that we have played 12 games, 10 in the league and 2 in the cup, but obviously Vardy didn't play in the cup.

Also £15m? Why would we sell? This is why he isn't going anywhere. Nobody is going to pay much more than that due to his age, £20m is too much for a player with only a few years left especially one who relies so heavily on pace, but we aren't going to sell unless it is for £30m plus.

The TV money is amazing next season and the price of players will spiral even more. We've spent a similar amount on Kramaric and Okazaki in 2015 so why would we accept 15m for Vardy? We've also been linked with Embolo for 20m so there's no way our heads would be turned on our proven goalscorer who has at least three years left at this level.

I think we'd want a minimum of 30m before we even gave it a moments thought.

Why would Tottenham be interested? Havn't they got the next big thing, the prodigy, the kid English hopes lie on that is Harry Kane?

I mean he's already 10x the player Vardy is at the young age of 22 isn't he? :dunno:

Yes his pace is instrumental to his level and it can deteriorate very quickly when you hit 30.

But I look at Vardy's body shape and he's very wiry. He has the body of a man 10 years younger as he's skinny but strong . There's a little bit of muscle under there combined with a low body fat. Taking into consideration he's a young 29 as he's not been flogged playing football continually from a young age.

There's not as many miles on the clock as other players his age and I wouldn't be surprised if he kept his pace up until his lower mid thirties.

Why would we even accept 20m when we have 18m worth of strikers on the bench?

The only way he would probably even consider leaving was if he wanted to get in the England team or play Champions league both possible with us :)

On a serious note just hope it helps his confidence even more that teams are looking at him.

He's hardly going to want to leave anyway when he is idolized by us to the point if he keeps going the way he will be a club legend. Statue outside the stadium kind of level.

I think Vardy would be tempted by the move, it'd be the icing on a ridiculous cake really wouldn't it? One things for sure , he's probably going to want a new contract oretty soon that reflects his return this year and I don't blame him. This is his chance to sign his retirement fund and be a very rich man. Probably his agent talking to everyone in the universe about now.

He ain't going anywhere for shit. Typical trash media talk.

He is loved here by everyone, his having the time of his life, he has made a name for himself here and could move on to become legend, our team plays for him, we aren't in a position to sell, if he wants more money we can give him more money and they know if we did sell there would be massive disappointment with fans and team.

I was thinking last week with Man City s lack of strikers atm they might make a bid for him in January.£20 million is small change for them and you couldn't blame JV if he took the move, potential medal plus a massive pay rise.

What if he gets a serious injury though? We would be kicking ourselves for not accepting a big bid. He wouldn't return the same player. Very few players do. Just look at torres. Michael Owen. Strikers who relied on there pace. When it's gone they are not the same. In my opinion, he's one hamstring tear or leg break away from the end of his premiership career

I agree.

If he gets a massive salary increase, he'll go. There is no 'loyalty' in football. And who'd blame him.

Isn't that the same for any player in the world?

Maybe Barcelona should sell Messi whilst they can get mega money for him now as he,s only one bad injury away from 200m down the pan.

If potentially losing that kind of money scares you to death then we should sell any player who is worth 15m plus and take our rightful place in the Championship in a year or two.

No Because vardy is basically all down to pace. He isn't that good technically. For example Chris Wood can get away with not having pace due to his fantastic technical ability. Could you imagine vardy scoring that goal against Burnley?

Everyone has a price. With the exception of maybe Barca and Madrid no club is immune from 'bigger' clubs wanting their better players. What we have to do is ensure we get way more for him than he's worth as you can never replace like for like (see Spurs and Bale, United Ronaldo, Arsenal RVP, Everton Rooney, Swansea Bony, Liverpool Suarez, Villa Benteke and Delph Leicester Heskey and Lennon etc)

Also if Vardy is serious about his England career then he'll move, everyone on here has said as much about the lack of opportunities afforded him because he plays for us as opposed to a Spurs, Liverpool etc.

'Technique' isn't a mythical once size fits all trait, this isn't football manager. Every facet of the game is technique based, it just so happens Vardy excels 'technically' in areas which others don't.

As good as Vardy has been, and as good as i think he is i believe he is a great leicester player as opposed to a 20/25 million pound player, the reason being because our management, players and most importantly style enable him. He is the right player at the right club - not sure another club would know how to get the best out of him. Roy still doesnt know and clearly restricts his natural game to fit englands "passing style". History has a number of strikers who, even players, who just fit a club for any number of reasons - darren bent benefitted from a direct style a charlton but struggled much more when he played at spurs who had the ball alot more - no way would liverpool play the quick out ball like kasper does. Not taking anyrhing away from him - deserves every bit of credit due his way but footballs not as simple as he scores here so he will score everywhere

We might receive an offer in Jan for him from the likes of Spurs and Liverpool, but there is not a chance we would accept it.

We are in a powerful position. Our owners aren't exactly strapped for cash so we have the power to resist bids for our best players.

The owners have a vision of getting Leicester into the top 6...

And how we laughed when they said that, but look at us now in a strong fifth just over a year later.

If Vardy is serious about his England career/the euros then he's better off staying with us that sitting on the bench at Man City. It doesn't seem to be affecting his chances with England so far. Give him an improved contract and be done with it.
