Vardy allegedly to consider his foxes future in the summer

Recommended Posts

I love to see him try and explain it in depth.

How much do you think Leicester would sell Vardy for?

How much do you think Villa, Newcastle or Sunderland would pay?

Do you not think a better club would hijack it?

Do you think Vardy would leave for a relegation threatened team?

Use you're fecking brain Merson.

And surely any of those relegation clubs first port of call is going to be to throw £12m to £15m at QPR to get Austin. He's coming from a division below so he won't reject them, and is proven at this level whilst cheaper than Vardy. I don't think any of those three would even consider Vardy right know, they'll know it's not happening.

Give him an improved contract with a nice signing bonus and be done with it. He's agent is just doing his job trying to get Vardy a new contract and to be fair he's earned it

Austin doesn't want to leave London so can't see that happening either.

Newcastle never made an offer in the summer after they enquired and got told as much.

Oh, I never heard that, I just thought nobody met QPR's valuation. Austin lived in Burnley once, I thought once you'd done that anywhere would seem a desirable place to live.

Ever been to Hull?

Jamie VARDY has been DROPPED by Ranieri and LCFC for their SEASON-DEFINING cup match in HULL due to REAL MADRID unsettling the young (29 in Jan) one-season (well, for some time now) wonder with their COPPER-BOTTOMED (what absurd rumour can we start?) SWOOP (probably the vaguest inkling who he is) that will have SURPRISED (the only surprise being how many berks even read these things) the club. A SOURCE close to the club said 'You can write what you like within these parentheses, because I have no name and thus am accountable to nobody.'

We need to here it from Vardy himself, get the guy on TV and let's close this story once and for all.

Hear what? It's a total non story, unfortunately being constantly stoked by Ranieri talking about it when asked.

Like every player in the world, if they want to go and the price is right they will go. Yet they are whipping it up into s story.

Even if he didn't comment on it, the press would spin it like "Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri has fueled Vardy speculation by refusing to comment on rumours that the in-form striker may leave the club in January."

That's because it IS a story.... From non league Striker who was released by Sheff Wed to the Prems leading scorer. That's quite a story. You'd have to be mad that the leading striker in the Prem would not be attracting the interest of other teams....

It's not a story though, there are no bids, the player has expressed no interest to go. The whole thing is nothing more than column inch filler based around Ranieri and his comments. He ends up making a story because his comments give them something to hang their hat on.

Sorry, but I don't want to be reading "Ranieri confirms willingness to sell Jamie" or "Leicester could let Jamie Vardy depart if big club makes offer". The reality is every player has their price, especially if they want to move on. But headlines like that aren't helping anyway and can be easily avoided.

Him going from non league to the top scorer is a totally different story.

How do you know?

And that's  only to you its a totally different story, to many others that's PART of the story that makes him so appealing and interesting to others.

Errr because it is.

You seem to be totally missing the point. I'm not debating whether Jamie Vardy and his rise through the leages is a story, of course it is and it's based on fact. Look at the original post I replied to."We need to here it from Vardy himself, get the guy on TV and let's close this story once and for all."

Someone calling Vardy out to make a comment on what is nothing other than press speculation. Speculation that Ranieri has needlessly fanned by his comments about letting him go.

The press linking Vardy to Real Madrid or Liverpool or anyone else would be no more of a story than us being linked with a player. It's not a story, it's not fact based, it's just speculation and nothing more. Stuff that most wouldn't even dignify with an answer.

We don't need players to come out and comment on it, just as I'd rather the manager wouldn't either. "Not for sale, end of story, move on".

I can't believe it's a Leicester fan writing this. Did you see the header against Southampton? Did you see the flick over the keeper and finish on Saturday? Not to mention the technique required to run at full tilt *just* out of reach of the defender, so they either foul you or let you by.

Absolute nonsense-you read too much from the mainstream media who need to rationalise why a player of his calibre is playing for Leicester, while Man U and Liverpool squabble over £40m also rans...

Agree. Running full tilt WITH the ball is a technique very few players have. Imagine a race with Bolt each running with a football. Vardy wins easily.

A better contest would be against Bale.

He signed a 4 year deal in August 2014 on roughly £40k a week.

Do we really need to offer a new one? Surely he knows how important he is to us and isn't going to demand a significantly larger amount than that! Not yet anyway, i hope.

If we're "only" paying him 40k a week, we have to pay him more. Milner is apparently on 150k at Liverpool!

Another way of looking at it- presuming we stay up, at least 10% of that is down to Vardy. Next season every team gets 100M, so you could argue that Vardy deserves 10M.

Whatever, we either pay him more, or he, like every other professional footballer aged 28/29 will go.

Ranieri has been in at least, I say at least 4 interviews, informing media and press, Vardy definitly will not be going anywhere in January , and club are not interested, in selling either Vardy or Mahrez...

So all this nonsense is quite stupid really.

Albeit the Daily Star coming out with this exclusive headline that shitty little toilet paper but

Are you getting a bit worried now all these reports that Leicester have slapped a £15m price tag on Jamie Vardy with the likes of Spurs Liverpool Arsenal Manchester Utd and now Borussia Dortmund are interested in our top scoring record breaking little staring to me I'm sure when Claudio mentioned a lot of money it was a hell of a lot more than £15m I know this is a shite paper that generally writes shite but Could we lose him to one of these big boys in January or can Claudio keep Jamie's feet on the ground and get him to sign a better deal with us? I sure hope he stays as I'm sure our defensive line would absolutely hate to see Jamie running at them!

Let's also hope all this press regarding a big move doesn't unsettle Jamie and he keeps scoring week in week out but I know fleetwood would be rubbing their hands together at the thought of a big money move for Jamie as I'm sure they have a pretty decent sell on clause with any move !!

Non story.  Do you think the club/owners need 15M to keep the club going and would stick such a low price on currently our most valuable asset for a January sale which is where clubs get ripped off?  To replace a player with his form they would have to spend twice that and more in wages so they'd be at a loss.  They probably spend 15m on fuel costs of their private jets and helicopters.  We got 4m for Nugent that's how good the DOF is.

Vardy isn't a short term January Transfer for any team, he's a player that a team builds a style of play around.  If Klopp wanted him so badly he should have joined us in the summer.

From a players point of view, the club stuck by him recently, showed belief and loyalty to him and he's only just signed a new contract.  I think he'll be at the club for his prem days, be a club legend and leave a mark in the football world before he moves onto the MLS

How would you even come across such a poor site?  The mainstream press is bad most of the time, these blogs/clickbait sites are even worse.

Came up on newsnow. I agree they are a bunch of cowboys but still frustrating to read.

This price tag is probably more reflective of his contract size than value we would place on him. if the club want hm to stay then we need to increase that contract - show we want him to stay. Otherwise, if he says he wants to go elsewhere, that 15m could begin to look more realistic though I suspect a Jan raid would require nearer 20m.

Posted

He is worth 30m to us and we don't need the money. No team will pay that for a 28 (29 in early January) year old whose game is based on pace. The only issue would be if he turns round and says he wants to go to a bigger team which then lowers the fee we could get. Not sure he is that kind of player though.
