Gerard Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Leicester, Man City & Arsenal have took three points these last two games. Leicester - Everton (A), Liverpool (A) Man City - Arsenal (A), Sunderland (H) Arsenal - Man City (H), Southampton (A) I think before the Everton match we'd have all accepted that we got the same points from the next two fixtures as Man City and Arsenal as ours was the hardest and both away games. I'm not used to seeing Leicester lose so trying to cheer myself up Beat Man City on Tuesday or at least not lose and it's game on again. Up the City.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 I would have been happy with two draws... in the so called tough 6 games we have taken 10 from 5 of those already and remain two points at the top.

I'm sure Man City and Arsenal would want on average about 4pts from those two fixtures, we would certainly have taken 2pts from ours. So maybe it's a case that we have overperformed and they have underperformed and we're in a stronger position now that what we were before the Everton game.
Larry_LCFC Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Im not bothered we lost today. Its Liverpool at Anfield at the end of the day. What concerns me is the manner we lost. There were some shocking performances out there and we really looked like we couldnt be bothered. Think it highlights just how poor we are upfront when Vardy and Mahrez are off form or not on the pitch. Our other striking options are pretty abysmal.
Tuna Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 We must add quality players to the squad in January. We have the finances and will not have a better chance of making the top three. We must not miss this unbelievable opprtunity.
nnfox Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Put it into perspective though. Compared to our pre-season hopes, if you had said that we would only lose two of our first 18 games everybody would have taken that. Then when you learn that it was a defeat to an in-form Arsenal at home and a 1-0 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield following our worst performance of the season (on Boxing Day). This season is awesome! Bring on Tuesday night I say, there is no shame at all in losing at Anfield.
Izzy Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 There were some shocking performances out there and we really looked like we couldnt be bothered. Of course we were 'bothered'. I'm surprised you'd critisice our effort and work rate. We lost to the better side today but I'd never accuse us of slacking off or being unprofessional.

Passes were going straight to them way too often and we were just hoofing it up the pitch. Way off the mark compared to our usual standards.
SpacedX Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 I'm not used to seeing Leicester lose so trying to cheer myself up I take it you've only been watching since last April then?
Bamba's Babes Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Poor performance. Not the worst game to lose but the manner of defeat was disappointing. Need a new striker
Gforce19 Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Is the glass half full or half empty? We were lethargic, couldn't be bothered, not as good because VARDY and Marhez were off the pace today.Or it was boxing day, the players had a Christmas day slog up to Liverpool followed by staying in a hotel up north followed by playing away at Anfield where Liverpool knew they had to turn up due to losing 3 nil to Watford. There is a possibility some of them are suffering from a virus but what I can't understand is how they can go to Copenhagen , drink in the streets, go clubbing , pull in some cases and then a few days later turn Everton over at Goodison. I think the players have started to get carried away and started to believe the hyped up press coverage. Maybe this will have the same affect as our last loss to Arsenal and make them focus more if that is what was needed. If anything Tuesday night is crunch time , If we win we will be TOTL at the half way stage, which logically means we can win the league.
Gerard Posted 26 December 2015 Author Posted 26 December 2015 I take it you've only been watching since last April then? Started supporting them in October and my previous love Man Utd were looking shit.
Merging Cultures Posted 27 December 2015 Posted 27 December 2015 We looked lethargic. Maybe couldn't be bothered isn't the right term, but it was certainly slack. Passes were going straight to them way too often and we were just hoofing it up the pitch. Way off the mark compared to our usual standards. They played how we play, they just had better quality and home advantage. They stayed compact, like we do, which makes passing through difficult. This is why we have such a high number of interceptions, and why wet couldn't break through them very easily. And it makes it easier to tackle, because the midfielders lead the defensive line and the defenders can easily step up to 2 on 1 an attacker. They played us at our own game and won by just one goal. We certainly worked very hard for it though.

Think it highlights just how poor we are upfront when Vardy and Mahrez are off form or not on the pitch. Our other striking options are pretty abysmal. I've seen a lot of comments about the strikers today...for me the issue was service and not them. They were feeding of scraps as we didn't ever seem to have any control of the ball. They pressed well, gave us little time and we missed someone who could put there foot on the ball and keep hold of it. I know it's not how we play, but we do need to adapt when plan a isn't working.
loAf Posted 27 December 2015 Posted 27 December 2015 we gave the ball away in the middle of the park too easily, and thats where I think we lost it. think we missed danny alot. That said we still looked dangerous throughout on the break (bar the opening 20mins) and could have nicked an undeserved point. We were always going to lose more games, just glad its happened on a day when Arsenal drop the ball and it leaves us top with a game 2 days later to clear it from the system.

In fact, with a couple of different bounces of the ball, we could have had all three points within the four minutes of stoppage time. It would have been completely undeserved, of course. Roll on Tuesday.
foxfanazer Posted 27 December 2015 Posted 27 December 2015 Good post. If you'd have said 10 points from Swansea, United, Chelsea, Everton and Liverpool you'd have to be happy with that. Even including a loss to Man City wouldn't be too bad
HighPeakFox Posted 27 December 2015 Posted 27 December 2015 I think the players have started to get carried away and started to believe the hyped up press coverage. Do you? How long did this thought process last? One bad game and people start panicking into tabloid-esque speculation. No doubt we'll be informed of unrest, cliques and 'come and get me pleas' because we had an off day that has been coming for some time. We may yet get found out more often, since Kante has been identified as a major pivot in the team. Let's hope everyone is back on their game asap.
