Collymore Posted 11 January 2016 Posted 11 January 2016 Jesus. He was OK. Not brilliant, just OK, OK?
ScouseFox Posted 11 January 2016 Posted 11 January 2016 IF this release clause was well known why didn't other teams activate it? Can't believe we were the only ones interseted. Makes me wonder whether he only wanted to sign for us. if you look at it we were surely an incredible sell for him. he can stay living in the midlands (even still in birmingham), which I guess is pretty important as a 19 year old with a girlfriend. we are challenging for a european place we've already tried to buy him once we have two of the best wingers in the league who a year ago were some unknown french kid and an aston villa reject. he knows he'll improve here. he knows chilwell. we are a very good team but not one that is so good he will be stuck in the u21 or reserve teams for the next 3 or 4 years like if he signed for a "traditional" top 6 club. we are going places and fast. we are surely an incredible proposition for any new signing, young or old, local or foreign.
Littletoe Posted 11 January 2016 Posted 11 January 2016 Can see the signs.... He will be a great player at our club!
Bluetintedspecs Posted 11 January 2016 Posted 11 January 2016 Debut that was promising, I will say the same as when people overreact in a negative way though....... Calm down! It does look like the lad could be a tremendous bargain though
Babylon Posted 11 January 2016 Posted 11 January 2016 Jesus. He was OK. Not brilliant, just OK, OK? Indeed... He was decent, not brilliant. Plenty of stuff to work on, but it was nice to see no fear and for him to really go for them whenever he could.
Lestoh Posted 11 January 2016 Posted 11 January 2016 If he'd bagged that worldy he attempted we'd be dubbing him the new Mahrez
MC Prussian Posted 11 January 2016 Posted 11 January 2016 A bit weak on the physical side, but he'll grow into his role and the demands of the Premier League as time progresses. With him and Chilwell on the left, we now have at least two great prospects for the future. Throw Schlupp (and possibly Moore) into the mix, as well, and we've got ourselves some very decent talent here.
Mikey Posted 11 January 2016 Posted 11 January 2016 Thought he has a very positive debut. It was his attitude I liked the most, clearly not short on confidence. Very pleasing debut. Like others have said, sure he'll bulk up a bit what with only being 19. Would have kept him on and taken Dyer off to be fair.
Thracian Posted 11 January 2016 Posted 11 January 2016 He did enough to earn a starting space for me - one assist and one tenuous association among other things - but it doesn't really matter so long as he stays fully involved and keeps both learning and working hard on his game and his strength. What he doesn't need is endless weeks sat on a bench with no football. It's the kiss of death for young footballers. Chilwell's the same. Either you show faith in these people as part of the squad or you sap their enthusiasm and self-belief. On the other hand the kids have to learn to cope with disappointments and recognise that everyone in the squad has hopes and expectations and that you won't always be picked or given time off the bench even when you think you've earned or deserve it. Andy King should surely be the club's go-to on this issue. I honestly can't imagine a better professional in that way.
Candidcamera Posted 11 January 2016 Posted 11 January 2016 His ball control was superb. His pace is up there with our play. His awareness and work rate today was good. I saw nothing to compare with Saha though. This is more like a one off individual about to set his own trail. His corners were so good. A really class debut I thought.

So would I but it may just have been a precaution given the fixtures coming up. Ranieri might have been keen to help Dyer erase the nightmare of his previous appearance. He did that to a small extent but not to the point of convincing me he's worth pursuing. With Mahrez, Gray, Schlupp and Albright we seem as well off for wide players as we need to be for now, especially with Chilwell showing a willingness to get forward sensibly as well.
les-tah Posted 11 January 2016 Posted 11 January 2016 Its great to see him take on the first man with ease. Also he goes straight to the top of the list with the only player ever looking likely to score outside the box this season .
