m4DD0gg Posted 13 January 2016 Posted 13 January 2016 Combination of 3 things, over reliance on 2 players who are rinsed, being found out and no plan B. 4-5-1 worked ok against city but its hardly an attacking formation
Frank to be Posted 13 January 2016 Posted 13 January 2016 I was starting to get concerned but the squad players looked great on Sunday and the main players have had plenty of rest now so we should be back in business.
EnglishOxide Posted 13 January 2016 Posted 13 January 2016 Fatigue is a bollocks excuse. They are fit and well rested. Contrary to popular belief we haven't been playing at 100mph constantly. Claudio has mixed it up and has us managing games easier, rather than continually playing end to end.
Socks Posted 13 January 2016 Posted 13 January 2016 well hopefully mahrez and vards have had a good break and will come back rested Ranieri said he aint signing noone else http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/35293948
Kitchandro Posted 13 January 2016 Posted 13 January 2016 Not sure it's fatigue. And we played Chelsea after Man Utd and we weren't laboured then. Nor were we against Man City. Bournemouth we grew into the game as we went in and just struggled to break down a team who parked the bus when they went down to 10. I agree with the 2nd point about keeping the ball though. We've let ourselves get too bothered about whacking it up field for Vardy to chase or Ulloa to win headers. We're very capable of passing the ball quickly and we should remember that before we try to go straight from A to B.Having said that, we were much more like ourselves in the second half on Sunday so I'm not concerned yet.
lcfc278 Posted 13 January 2016 Posted 13 January 2016 We have probably one of the fittest squads in the league - our fitness coaches and sports science team etc. i think, are probably one of the best in the country. I dont think fatigue will be an issue for the lads. If kramaric isn't going to get a look in, even in the FA Cup, then i would be tempted to bring another striker in. Other than that im fairly happy with our squad right now.
Vardinio'sCat Posted 14 January 2016 Posted 14 January 2016 Fatigued? I'm bloody exhausted, and that's just listening/watching!
foxes161 Posted 14 January 2016 Posted 14 January 2016 it's more ups and downs of a long season, you can't play great every week.
erlee Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 I agree to a certain extent. Kasper is a good keeper. That's all he is though imo. Overall he does a good job. Im more worried about who we have behind him. De Laet offers us some good attacking options but defensively not as good as Simpson and vice versa. Ideally it would be good to have a RB who can do both like Fuchs but if it comes to the end of the window and we still have Simpson and De Laet as a RB Im not too concerned. Its the striker I am most worried about but tbh I think Kramaric could be a useful asset. If Ranieri insists on not playing him though then that's the area that needs strengthening most imo. So if what Ranieri says is true regarding our business being done then my only big concern is not using Kramaric. I don't believe for a second though that our business is complete. I fully expect Kramaric to leave (shame but prob for the best) and us to bring in another striker. I hv never seen Kramaric in action for a full 90m. . . is he any good ? if so - why doesn't he gets his 10 or 20 in less competitive games?
HighPeakFox Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 One of the immutable laws of FT - Kramaric must get mentioned in every thread.
Candidcamera Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 It is mental as much as anything else. Vardy clearly not been fit but you can just see he is so fit naturally. We have to get past the Arsenal and Man City fixtures and then we have got a comfortable run in. Winning will be the answer to fatigue.
Thracian Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 The greatest antidotes to fatigue are winning football matches and competition for places. We still need a couple of players to get the balance just right but I didn't see much fatigue when we beat Spurs this week. Vardy's rusty because he's not trained for a while and has perhaps been hurried back a week earlier than ideal. It's easy to use fatigue as an excuse but we're not that kind of club. Moans about the Dyer penalty weren't excuses. They were an expression of outrage at being blatantly and outrageously robbed. Otherwise we just get on with the job with no complaints and I like that. Excuses can be habit forming and utterly destructive.
Clever Fox Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 I'm not so sure it's fatigue so much as Heavy grounds. Once we get past February the grounds should be dryer and our pace will start to show itself again. It's also amazing how much pain you can get through when the results are really important. Every game from now is going to be a battle, one way or another.
foxfanazer Posted 16 January 2016 Author Posted 16 January 2016 Convinced after that its fatigue playing a huge part
oxtonfox Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Convinced after that its fatigue playing a huge part Fatigue is what players will say when it's mentioned (e.g. by the press). It is as much in the mind as anywhere else and it becomes endemic when people start talking about it. I hope our first team are not thinking it's as a valid excuse given their performances so far. My concerns are that the cupboard is bare with striker options and our low possession % means we will have to chase games and that can be mentally as well as physically tiring especially if we lose a goal early.
Tielemans63 Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 I think its a combination of mild fatigue, Vardy playing with an injury, teams having sussed us out and Riyad's loss of form. You see it season after season when a surprise package takes it by storm but then the other teams quickly find out how to stop them. Another way of looking at it is that actually, we've done bloody we'll over a critical period and were two penalty misses away from another 4 points.
filbertway Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 Still think it'smassively negative tactics and the players being shackled with defensive responsibilities. If it was fatigue we'd be conceding far more than we are.
