DangerFox Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Not a moan, just an observation/criticism. At the end of the day I'd have taken 17th at the start of the season. It's ok, we've no need to panic, but they do d start raising the bar.. Since Liverpool, we've not been our usual selves. Liverpool, nobody really performed against Man C we did ok at home for a point but no goals Bournemouth at home we should be beating in my opinion, unconvincing 0-0 Spurs FA cup, second string boys did well. Spurs league, a win but a fortunate win Today, Villa, very unconvincing. I don't think it's much of a coincidence that it coincides with Vardy (Virus and groin op) got injury worries and Mahrez has gone right off the boil. Now Vardy is back, he doesn't look the same lad. Mahrez has also got 2-3 men around at all times. So what's the plan to get 79 points Claudio? Need more signings In my opinion. Missed out On Charlie Austin.
HighPeakFox Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 I swear if one more person mentions Charlie Austin as though he was ever a realistic solution...........
Donut Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 I swear if one more person mentions Charlie Austin as though he was ever a realistic solution........... We wanted him in the summer though?
blueharmie Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 We won't get 79 points as already the squad is tired and we don't have the depth of arsenal ect. Top 4 is a dream, top 8 would be amazing considering we were favourites to go down at the start of the season. We need more top quality players to stay where we are else we will fall. It's starting already, well since Liverpool as you say. The bubble hasn't burst but reality has set in and lack in quality to mount a top 4 position. But prove me wrong please! 3
Charl91 Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 I swear if one more person mentions Charlie Austin as though he was ever a realistic solution........... To be fair, he's gone to Southampton. Not that unrealistic.
MPH Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 To be fair, he's gone to Southampton. Not that unrealistic. In his defense, he said realistic solution not realistic option...
Grewks Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 I don't know what people expect. With regards to what people define as 'quality', its usually 'technical' ability right? Well, even bournemouth have more 'technical' ability than us, people need to realise we are really overachieving.
GaelicFox Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 I swear if one more person mentions Charlie Austin as though he was ever a realistic solution...........[/quote Course he was But he was always going to Southampton

That will only be apparent end of next season Like in cricket you don't know what par is on the wicket until both teams have played their first innings ! Once we get to end of this season and then end of next season we will then know if this is over achieving

No chance.
weller54 Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 You think that Bournemouth have more technical ability in their squad than we do? No chance. on today's performance, Darlington would have been technically superior!
Donut Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 on today's performance, Darlington would have been technically superior! ON TODAYS PERFORMANCE Stop being so pathetically knee jerk. How in any way can Bournemouth have more technical ability in their squad than us. Give me the brilliant Bournemouth technicians
gw_leics772 Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Its the performances more than the results, and it is since liverpool. I was hoping that we changed the way we played justfor the big boys to avoid another arsenal. Even before todays game i clung to that hope, and put Bournemouth down to a bad day at the office. But its the way we seem to have just changed the way we play. Still hoping this is our dodgy patch, in which case our points haul is pretty impressive, but it doesn't seem to be getting any better, even against that toss. Not moaning, but had an interesting conversation about how we should be happy where we are etc.etc. but that just means if we finished mid table, we would need relegation form from here in and by that logic should still be happy. We know about momentum better than anyone, but if that was to happen we would be relegated next year. ( I dont believe it will happen for one minute, just showing how poor the argument is that we should just be happy now regardless of what happens from here) Bottom line, we have to readjust our expectations, and today wasnt good enough now, and wouldnt have been good enough last year either. Hoping its still a blip, but we missed a golden opportunity today. Reading back, this is so negative, but it feels justified right now.
Len Finsbury Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Is it true that the collective noun for a group of knee-jerk reactions is a Foxestalk?
Grewks Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 You think that Bournemouth have more technical ability in their squad than we do? No chance. Teams play to their strength. If we had more technical ability than bournemouth we would've used that as our strength, passed them off the work and won 2/3-0. Instead they looked the better footballing side and technically superior. Not that it is the sign of success though. That bayern side which was full of pace and energy countered barcelona to death a few years back under heynckes.....Guordiola has made them a more 'technical' but less successful side.
AyewJoking Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 just a rough patch in which we have scored 2, conceded 2 and taken 6 points from a possible 15 and sit top of the league by one point although will probably be 2 points off in 3rd place by this time tomorrow. i have omitted the cup game as it was a changed team to the one we field in most league games.
Grewks Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 Bournemouth = not technically superior. Okay....that is why we play a possession game yeah? Rubbish.
Danizen Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 Okay....that is why we play a possession game yeah? Rubbish. Bournemouth pass it around the back because their attack is impotent. It doesn't mean they're playing a possession game and it doesn't mean they're technically superior. That is ridiculous.

How will we be 3rd?
teblin Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 Perspective here. We haven't lost since then either. Bournemouth and villa would have been 3 points if mahrez converted a penalty. In which we'd be 4 points clear at the top.
erlee Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 You think that Bournemouth have more technical ability in their squad than we do? No chance. bournemouth is more technical than leicester..
Guest Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 Those facts in the OP also show how much better our defence has performed since Liverpool only 2 conceeded in 5 games - 3 against top teams. We need someone to be a goalscorer in the second half of the season or Vardy to get his second wind. We also have picked up Gray who already looks a smart buy.
