samlcfc1 Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 If we were offered a point against Spurs and 3 against villa I think most of us would have taken it ... 4 points either way ... We've lost 2 games all season our bubble has far from burst
Bazly Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 Need to sign a few quality players or I fear we'll drop like Southampton. On topic its usually around 70pts to get top 4 but this year the number of lost games from the leading clubs has never been higher so I'd go for 67 to get top 4. I did start a thread a while back when the team was scoring freely saying that we needed a host of new players with only 6 players that would get on the team sheet week in week out - out of choice. Fuchs Moore Kante Drinkwater Mahrez Vardy That leaves 5 places where its a could definitely do better. Schmeichel doesn't command the 6 yard box, doesn't know whether to catch, parry or punch or leave alone. Huth should have given away 10 penalties this season. Every time he forearms an opponent I'm expecting a penalty. Moore didn't make my original top list but he has got better as the seasons gone on - though he is getting old so doesn't have too many seasons left. Simpson is a good replacement and much better than De Laet who gets turned way too easily. De Laet needs to go. Albrighton works hard but doesn't have the power to angle in crosses or fire shots, they are all lobbed gently in. Okazaki works hard but falls over and dispossessed too easily. Ulloa hasn't been on form for over a year now, needs to go. To be a consistent force we need a great goalkeeper. A great centre back to replace Huth plus a great centre forward who can hold up, pass and score a lot from headers. That'd cost around £100mn to sort out. I'd sell Mahrez to get a chunk of it.
katieakita Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 Yes after the break for FA cups games our bubble has burst and yesterday we were not great, we have played 2 away games and got 4 pts. Arsenal have 2pts from 2 games, Man City have 4 pts from 2, Spurs have 3 points, Man Utd have 4pts, West Ham 3pts and Palace 0pts Stoke have 4pts Liverpool 1 pt so there must be plenty of bubbles going pop our win at Spurs is as good as any top 10 result since the break.
LCFC hub Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 Forget Top 4! I'm thinking about winning the league!! It can be done.. We've no European commitments to worry about and IF we win on Wednesday we have a couple of FA cup games. The spark will come back, I have faith!

Awful way of thinking. Let me get this straight. We are joint top of the league and you don't think half the team is good enough. I suggest you try to process your thinking before you write this stuff. Apply a filter before just dumping your jumbled thoughts for the world to share. And who the fudge is Moore ?
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 even if we take as little as 4 points, it'd require man u to win all 4 of their games for us to not be in the top 4 by the end of this potentially tricky run. True, but if that was the case our position would look very much different to how it is now and that in turn prompts its own problems. For example, the players / manager could have a funny situation in that we're still well above any expectations anyone had at the start of the season, but that they've not met the more recent heightened expectations that are there (whether in their own minds or us as fans) and so that momentum we had is lost, we then possibly loose a little faith in what we are doing and it becomes a vicious circle. Plus, if we only get 4 points (and that included 2 successive defeats) that Norwich fame suddenly looks a little trickier.
Nick Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 There is absolutely no chance we will finish in the top 4 lets be realistic Top 10 will still be an amazing season really It's not impossible, Bob.
Guest Col city fan Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 We wont finish in the top 6 never mind the top 4 As we've seen from the past 5 games our bubble has burst. The pundits might have been right about us. I hope is it just tiredness and we regenerate (but with our sports science dept being one of the best how can it be tiredness?) But part of me thinks its cos we are safe players minds are in the wrong mindset now Ranieris tactics seems to have changed as well. Yeah hes sorted the defense out but the attacking force seems to have gone away. I mean why bring de leat on today like he did? Didnt make sense Today was a dreadful game. Worst all season If it wasn't for two missed penalties we'd be clear by now. Talk about bloody knee - jerk!
foxes161 Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 with Spurs and United close behind we need to win the games we should win like home games. That's why dropping against villa could come back to hurt us

enmac Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 There is absolutely no chance we will finish in the top 4 lets be realistic Top 10 will still be an amazing season really Are you being serious? We came 14th last season with 41 pts. 10th place is unthinkable.

Agreed- Arsenal, Man City, Spurs, Man U, Liverpool- our rivals! All have got European commitments- hopefully that derails them. Need Arsenal to beat Barca- fat chance- a CL final would seriously mess up their league form.

We came 14th last season with 41 pts. 10th place is unthinkable.Chief I've already stated in trying to keep my feet on the ground that's all (you know not get too cocky and all that sort of ****ing bollocks)Of course I am keeping my fingers crossed we finish as high as possible Up the Foxes
fuchsntf Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 Its all an if thing really. If we keep up higher form than expected. If we can at least +avg out. If we dont implode. 1st time for years that top teams, havent sprung points ahead.So.. If neither, Arsenal or Man.city find forms of past seasons. If the PL team spread is really alot closer, and continues to stay that way, and carry taking pts off each other. If european commitments do tire citys competitors. If Man.utd, Spurs, W.Ham, another, dont find an exceptional run of form. If doesnt excist for me, I dont like to rely on it. So I will just enjoy the ride, as it developes, or we get silly statements like, if only Mahrez had scored his penalties. Because we will end up, where we do ,when our team turn out the performances, they actually turnover, not the ifs wished before each game.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 21 January 2016 Posted 21 January 2016 Strangely nobody spouting rubbish about this anymore is there? Feet on the ground children . . . .
Vardinio'sCat Posted 21 January 2016 Posted 21 January 2016 Strangely nobody spouting rubbish about this anymore is there? Feet on the ground children . . . . Well, we have been watching the Fa Cup funnily enough. But I quite like people reading about how you think 10th would be amazing, it makes me smile, talk about spouting rubbish. You must have been hilarious last season.

I'm happy that we are having a great season generally bud so wherever we finish will be amazing As high as possible I hope, just think we are one or two players short of finishing in the top 4 (but I hope I'm wrong)
