Leicester City Statement On E-Tickets

Leicester City Football Club has now completed a thorough investigation into the delays encountered by some supporters entering King Power Stadium for Wednesday’s FA Cup fixture.

The investigation included a review of all ticketing and stadium access processes at King Power Stadium, with supporters now advised that there will be an immediate suspension of e-tickets/print-at-home tickets.

This suspension will remain in place until the Club is satisfied by its ticketing software provider that there will not be a repeat of the issues encountered on Wednesday, which saw some supporters miss kick-off.

Those supporters who have e-tickets for Saturday’s Barclays Premier League meeting with Stoke City will be contacted directly by the Club and issued with a replacement ticket.

That basically reads:

"The machines broke."

Which is something I'm guessing no one would have ever worked out.

In my job we do access control, swipe cards, barriers and turnstiles and when it fails all hell breaks loose. The club should have had measures in place but if it thinks this system will ever be perfect it is very mistaken. The system only has to malfunction for five minutes with this kind of traffic to cause chaos, they should just bin it.

My e ticket worked fine but you could see a lot of people coming in late moaning bout it. I spoke to a steward who said it was people not folding their tickets properly and slowing the queues down.

Sensible idea to scrap the print-at-home e-tickets.

The problem with the e-tickets is that if they require the printing quality to be top notch, and then the ticket to be folded in a certain way, it leaves too much outside of the clubs control, hence the chaos Wednesday night.

The statement really understates the extent of the problem. There were thousands queuing outside and I missed 23 minutes of the first half, not just the kick off.

same here,as i approached the ground i said to my mate that i had never seen so many people outside the ground before

Wait so this was probably down to fans trying to print their e-tickets on dat matrix printers that their gran has in the spare room upstairs/not being able to fold paper correctly?
