I don't speak on behalf of The Great Leader or any of his apparatchiks (admins, mods).

 

However, shortly before it disappeared, some of us geriatrics and young fogies were getting a bit animated about aspects of the migration issue.

 

I suspect that the Politics Thread has been cast like a rotten apple into the firmament. In exchange, we've been given this new playground, "News and Current Events". The hope is presumably that we'll stop disturbing posters who want to use General Chat for healthier pursuits such as gazing at celebrity breasts, discussing road traffic issues and sharing "Bill" cartoons.

Think of the usual suspects you might expect to embarrass themselves in a politics thread and you could name them all yourself - and make sure to include me!

Used to live in General Chat but now it's like my parents divorced and I have to be shuttled in between two houses at the weekend. At least I get double Christmas presents I guess.

I like it! Keeps the fun stuff away from the argumentative stuff. Generally, I love debating politics etc but there's some days where I just need to avoid those threads. This makes that easier!

I like it too. I can come here and mark all as read. Before I used to start at the top then click read next unread post. With some content I could not hold back. I apologise if I upset people. It is just my way. 

I do know someone who used to bea poster. Even played Travian a few years back, he has said that he rarely visits  as some of the comments and attitudes would anger him. I don't mean the lefties. He reads but does not post.

I really do not care for politics. A lot of my views are from a social view not from any political party.
