ramboacdc Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Of course we are. Our crowds are bigger than their's and we're detined to play in the bloody Champions League whilst they sit midtable. How on earth can you justify us taking players they don't want? i wouldnt say we are bigger than stoke. but i do agree we can do better than their rejects.
Babylon Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Compared to Arsenal & Man Utd yes, not compared to Stoke. I'm not looking for Ibrahimovic here but we can do better than this guy. You do realise there are s matter of hours left. Perhaps you should call the club and give them your targets that we can sign in a few hours.
ramboacdc Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 You do realise there are s matter of hours left. sdb Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Hasn't he been shit since his mum (?) died? Always liked him but more of a 'establish ourselves as a top half team' than a 'go for top 4' player. Bit underwhelmed.
dylanlegend Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Warming to this.... If he plays in a top 2 with Vardy he could be dangerous. Played out wide too much for Stoke
HankMarvin Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Diouf has scored 14 PL goals in 48 games for Stoke, if Kramaric had done that for us he would still be here! how do you know he wouldnt? if he played that amount
escos Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 And to get in the top 4 we may need better players than Mame Biram Diouf. That's my point. There is a middle ground between players who aren't good enough and players who are well out of our reach. But those players are few and far between. If they are available they are very much over priced. Our current squad has got us to the top of the league. We have added two very good players, so if we don't want to risk silly money and sign a back up striker who would fit our system, just in case. The. I can't see the problem.
Riot Van Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 'Diouf and Vardy upfront is exceptional for Leicesters game; massive pace, direct and good Infront of goal. He'd show how good he is if he goes there.' 'Leicester's attack with Mame will be frightening. Hugely envious.' few quotes from the stoke forum
dylanlegend Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 well then the scouting system has failed. we have known we need a striker since December. why are we shopping now but we got the other 2?! Cos nobody want to sell a striker if they are half decent. It's not as easy as FM in real life
BlueJoe Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 We are no bigger than Stoke just yet. They are a established premier league club. We are only in our second season in ten years. There are a lot more that just Arsenal and Man U that are bigger than us. I agree he is not ideal, but he's played in this league and would suit our system. If we get top 4 then we can look at the big name players in the summer. That's small talk mentality talking!!!
HankMarvin Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Diouf, Stoke's top scorer last season, has fallen down the pecking order following compassionate leave, a niggling groin injury and form over the past three months cast off!!
Babylon Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 well then the scouting system has failed. we have known we need a striker since December. why are we shopping now but we got the other 2?!how on earth does that mean the scouting has failed? They scout players not negotiate with them.Ranieri said we needed to get rid of a striker to bring one in. The biggest issue is letting him go before you have someone in... I can only presume to queue for Krsmaric wasn't as big as some would like to believe. Meaning we struggled to get rid.by the time he was gone other targets could have gone elsewhere, clubs change their mind etc etc.

Babylon Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 We're after pace... He's got loads of it. I think up front in a two he'd do well. He seemed shoved out wide for Stoke when we played.
Dan Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Stoke are more established at this level in recent years but this season's proving that maybe being 'established' is over-stated. You'd say the same of Swansea and who's situation would you rather have of ours and theirs? Oh and historically we are comfortably a bigger club than Stoke City.

The. I can't see the problem. There isn't a risk. The PL pays out more next year than ever before so the money is coming in as long as we stay up! (Which is probable now) However our chance to get CL football is real and probably won't ever be again! Now is the time to "gamble" because it isn't a gamble! We have nothing to lose!!!
tyfox Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 If falcao goes back to Monaco loic will stay at Chelsea so it looks even more likely it will be diouf. Very uninspiring
filbertstreet Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 You're thinking of pulis. Pulis hasn't died has he?
crazylegs1984 Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Diouf, Stoke's top scorer last season, has fallen down the pecking order following compassionate leave, a niggling groin injury and form over the past three months cast off!! Ulloa was our top goal scorer last season .....
Babylon Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 we should have identified players earlier. someone is to blame as to why we are sitting here honestly going from signing aboubakar and now honestly trying to talk ourselves into a stoke reject?!Have you missed the last month or something where we've bid for a load of strikers?
ramboacdc Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Have you missed the last month or something where we've bid for a load of strikers? haha no but we didnt seem to bid until the other 2 deals were done. we should have gone for the striker first instead of amartey and gray. the fact we have only spent near 9M shows our "big money deal" hasn't landed.
ealingfox Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Yeah its a little underwhelming but I would back him to fit in here.

We could have had people all lined up and ready to come. But because Kramaric was cack and not wanted by the looks of it so we struggled.
