Players like Diouf & Gayle are not without merits in this division but whichever way you look at it they are not the sort of players who you want for a side in the Champions League. A signing like this hints at a lack of ambition for me.

Overall obviously I'm very happy with our recruitment over the last few seasons before anyone moans saying 'ooh but Steve Walsh got us Mahrez and Kante for 20p and half a pack of wine gums'. But, that doesn't mean we should allow ourselves to get to this point of the window and be this ****ing desperate. Surely we've known we've wanted a 10/9 all jan so why wait Til now to get bloody Gayle Diouf etc? Obviously we had to wait on Kramaric to leave but surely that was a given? Silly
