Grey Fox Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 We could do a lot worse than this guy IMO. Pace, strength, decent with his head. He's been played out wide a lot for Stoke this season. It's horses for courses, Huth couldn't get into their side and he is ever present in ours.
Ric Flair Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 I rate him, at this point in the transfer window is rather we got him than no-one. A loan deal would be perfect and then go big in the summer.
foxes21 Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Yes he's not the big signing we were hoping for, but looking at it on paper, he'd fit right into our style of play. He could be a good foil for Vardy tbh (which the stoke fans are agreeing with, on their forum). He's big, strong, quick, powerful. He would certainly be an upgrade on Ulloa who should be shipped on in the summer for an even better, hopefully younger, upgrade! This would be a good signing IMO. And he fits in the age bracket.. He's nearly 29!
SheppyFox Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 His record prior to stoke wasn't bad to be fair. (Hannover) Years Team Apps† (Gls) 2012–2014 Hannover 96 57 (26)
Guest BlueBrett Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 I'm warming to this. The more I think about it the more I realise he could actually be a bloody good foil for Vardy
m4DD0gg Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Simple really we will always get players like this until we review the wage cap.
SecretPro Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Now I've calmed down that he's not a 'big name' I think he might be OK.
foxes21 Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Tbh I'm more excited for this signing, then Remy, or Musa. Remy seems like a mercenary and I question if he would give his maximum each game. Because that's what we need. Musa, whilst he is obviously the better player then both, he will need time to settle in with the squad, the country, his surroundings, etc.. He may not get going until 5 or so games in. He'd be a better summer signing for us, imo. I reckon Diouf could hit the ground running, perhaps with a point to prove, knows the physicality of the league. More positives for us signing Diouf, then negatives.
dmayne7 Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 He's decent and would probably fit in with us. Just annoying when Dorsett says big name and it's Diouf
SecretPro Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 He's decent and would probably fit in with us. Just annoying when Dorsett says big name and it's Diouf Yeah it's this that ruined it.
Kasey Keller Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Diouf, Stoke's top scorer last season, has fallen down the pecking order following compassionate leave, a niggling groin injury and form over the past three months cast off!! Sounds a reet krock of shite
foxes21 Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 He's decent and would probably fit in with us. Just annoying when Dorsett says big name and it's Diouf This.
Thracian Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Has pace and seems capable of adding to what we've got. Can't imagine anyone would find it easy marking him, Vardy and Mahrez in the same line-up but videos can be deceptive. Still hopeful of two signings for the day though - and we've not got one yet.
mancunianfox Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Huth wasn't wanted by Stoke. That turned out ok didn't it?
Grey Fox Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 He's decent and would probably fit in with us. Just annoying when Dorsett says big name and it's Diouf I was out so I missed the whole big name thing. I'm therefore looking at it with different eyes. I was beginning to think we wont get anybody so I was actually quite pleased to see his name up there.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 I think he would suit what we're about. His pace could be useful in our side.
coolhandfox Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 how do you know he wouldnt? if he played that amount I don't, but its fact vs what if's and maybes
smr Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 yeah just had a gander on the stoke forum, general consensus from their lot is that they'll be "pissed" if he goes [and joins us] that makes me feel better. Gerrimin!

CosbehFox Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 how can you scout a man not playing? Wouldn't surprise me if we noticed him at Hannover
SheppyFox Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Stoke fan quote from their forum: Unless theres' something we dont Know -I cannot understand anybody who would be happy with our best striker (Diouf) leaving under any present circumstance (other than, a very good fee) Read more: http://oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/thread/249702/mame-biram-diouf?page=22#ixzz3ywkgvo9q And another Stoke fAn: I'll be pissed off if he goes but there's clearly something going on behind the scenes with him.
