MPH Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 Schmeichel Albrighton Morgan Huth Wasilewski Fuchs Amatey Kante Drinkwater Mahrez Vardy Not quite sure there is a need to change the formation...
MPH Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 Just put Kante at right-back. And Kante in central midfield. And Kante on the left-wing. And Kante up front. No need. He already does that himself...
Guy Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 its 1 game vs Norwich, I'm sure we can cope Yes, we seem to be carrying on in this thread as if it's Barcelona or Real Madrid we'll be facing in the next game as opposed to a newly promoted team in wretched form! I know the banana skin philosophy could apply here and that the likes of Naismith and others are a likely threat of sorts in this game to come but it is the Premier League after all - and I'm amazed this has escalated to a pole being conducted!!
Vardinio'sCat Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 Just put Kante at right-back. And Kante in central midfield. And Kante on the left-wing. And Kante up front. I think you will find he is already playing in all of those positions.
americanfox Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 No need. He already does that himself... I literally jumped out of my bar stool when Kante had that curling effort. I might have laughed the rest of the day had that gone in.
MPH Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 Amartey. Wasilewski is no RB anymore, Moore isn't good enough and relying on Albrighton to play in a new position could be trouble. Yet you'd do that with Amartey in his first ever game in English football?
americanfox Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 Yet you'd do that with Amartey in his first ever game in English football? At least it's a more natural position for Amartey.
Gerard Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 Amartey all day long. He has a reputation of being a utility player and it's the perfect time to blood him with Simpson being out and no obvious contender for that spot. He wasn't injured when he came here but wasn't quite match fit due to the Danish winter break. I was surprised he wasn't on the bench against Arsenal but Norwich is two weeks away which gives him more time for a development squad game and general training to get him up to speed.
MPH Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 At least it's a more natural position for Amartey. He's never played on the right side. He's always been a central player. Albrighton played as a right wing back for a large chunk of last season so I'd put a case forward for it being a more natural Position to him. It's a huge ask for Someone to play out of position for not only their first game for a new club but also their first ever game in that country..

Just based on what I've read around here, it's been sold that he can play RB. But then again, Benny was supposed to be able to play RB too. So get where you're coming from.

I'm fairly sure he's played right back for Ghana, even if its not his main role he has played there
MPH Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 I'm fairly sure he's played right back for Ghana, even if its not his main role he has played there I do know that John pantsil(!!) has been their regular RB for quite some time now...
MC Prussian Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 I think it's going to be either Marcin Wasilewski or Daniel Amartey. Albrighton never has been and never will be a proper right-back, he'd be wasted in a back four. We need his energy and long balls into the opposing box. And I can't see Ranieri breaking up a successful starting XI for Liam Moore, who has hardly played for us and on this level in the past and unfortunately not set the world alight during his recent loan spells.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 Gotta be Amartey. As people have said it's the perfect time for him to come in, we're going to have a lot of the ball and he should be able to recover back into shape with his pace if he messes anything up.
TiffToff88 Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 I don't know much about Amartey, except that he can break the sound barrier when he runs, so he fits perfectly into our style of play. So i'd love to see what he can do, seeing as (As someone else also speculated) his arrival was most likely the reason RDL was allowed to leave on loan
CKB Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 If Amartey isn't quite right yet (fitness, etc) would it be awful for one game to have Fuchs at RB and give Chilwell his first start at LB?

Was played well yesterday and I think he's been given far too much stick on here for conceding that free kick. Some people have suggested we change our formation because Danny Simpson is out, Jees. Was & Amartey are the two obvious contenders but in Claudio we trust.

Guest MattP Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 Doesn't say much about the others when 80% are picking a guy they have never seen in the flesh to come in for his first match out of position. I would have played RDL in a match like this but probably best to stick with Wasyl for the time being. And those wanting to change the formation of a team top of the Premier League, seriously?
Swiper Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 Can we recall RDL? Even if we can, is it worth it for one game? If Simpson had suffered a season ending injury or something, that option would make more sense.
dpjfox Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 im sure Armartey will be ready by the time this game comes round
Gerard Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 If Amartey comes in at RB and does well we should consider keeping him in the team for West Brom for his superior aerial strength. They'll play the Pulis way and defend deep with numbers and try to score from set pieces.
