Dickov22 Posted 19 February 2016 Posted 19 February 2016 I'd go with Albrighton for definite. Wasilewski will get minced on the wing by Redmond. Why would he get minced by Redmond? He did very well against Sanchez.
Countryfox Posted 19 February 2016 Posted 19 February 2016 Wasilewksi is a centre half, not a right back. Are you going to tell him ?
LCFCFOX6190 Posted 19 February 2016 Posted 19 February 2016 Why would he get minced by Redmond? He did very well against Sanchez. Yeah i was impressed with his defending until that moment. Is right back actually Amartey's natural position? If Amartey's not ready I'm fine with Was there.
Cadno'r Cymoedd Posted 19 February 2016 Posted 19 February 2016 Wait, if Chillwell can play right back, I'd give him a go. I've no idea what Amartey is like. Bloody hope he can play RB anyway. Not sure where else he'll get in the team, unless for a tactical change. Was is probably the safest choice, or Liam Moore if he's been playing well in the U21 matches he's been in recently. It'll be quite exciting to see what Ranners does. If Chilwell could play RB that would be great. He looks assured and disciplined.
Fox92 Posted 19 February 2016 Posted 19 February 2016 Got to be Amartey. Moore won't be fit enough, surely, I don't rate Wasilewski and I don't fancy seeing Albrighton full back for a full game.
RowlattsFox Posted 19 February 2016 Posted 19 February 2016 I think it will be Wasilweski. Not sure who Norwich will have on their left, Robbie Brady is a dangerous player but he plays left back quite often. Might go for Redmond if they think Wasyl will get the nod. I think he'll do a decent enough job.
Sionnach gorm Posted 19 February 2016 Posted 19 February 2016 I think an Amartey unfit is still faster and quicker that most of our players (I seriously doubt he's unfit at the moment). Anyway, we need to get him involved before the bigger matches. He seems to me to be pretty cold blooded so he's perfect for rb. Time to earn his keep!
FoxFossil Posted 19 February 2016 Posted 19 February 2016 Got to be Amartey. Moore won't be fit enough, surely, I don't rate Wasilewski and I don't fancy seeing Albrighton full back for a full game. Armartey didn't look ready to play as FB, based on the U21 game highlights on Player. Not tight enough to attackers, didn't see him make a proper FB tackle all game, but very good up and down, blistering tracking back so looking more like cover for Kante in CM. Chilwell and Grey clearly looked different class imo, so I'd go for the Chilwell / Fuchs combo.
SpacedX Posted 19 February 2016 Posted 19 February 2016 Wasilewksi is a centre half, not a right back. I don't think we should play players out of position, even if it is against a supposedly weaker side. People seem to be missing this...absolutely agree. Other than last Sunday when he replaced Simpson he started as R/B against Swansea at home last year and Huth had his work cut out keeping him tight..he was quickly pulled at half time and in my opinion was his only dubious performance of the season. Full back is simply not his natural role - I also got the same impression when Benny came on for RDL against Sunderland at home. Not that Yohan is in the equation, so it's a question of opting for Chilwell - who clearly has the talent to cover the right, or the untested Amartey, I suspect that the latter would make an immediate impact but either way Claudio will err on the side of caution based upon his observations on the training ground.
UPinCarolina Posted 19 February 2016 Posted 19 February 2016 I, for one, welcome and eagerly await the addition of either Chillwell or Amartey to the squad.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 19 February 2016 Posted 19 February 2016 Remember when Lloyd Dyer had to play left back one game in the championship? That was hilarious so be thankful that whoever plays against Norwich won't be that bad
foxes21 Posted 19 February 2016 Posted 19 February 2016 Why is there even a poll? Its so obvious it will be Amartey and he's going to boss it!
UPinCarolina Posted 19 February 2016 Posted 19 February 2016 Why is there even a poll? Its so obvious it will be Amartey and he's going to boss it! Except that it's not that obvious, thus why this thread has been on top of the forum for days now and will likely continue to be until we all stop bollocking each other and they release the lineups next Saturday.
Edingleyfox Posted 19 February 2016 Posted 19 February 2016 Rumours on twitter that De Laet may be recalled? Wonder if there are worries re Amartey fitness
TheUltimateWinner Posted 19 February 2016 Posted 19 February 2016 Rumours on twitter that De Laet may be recalled? Wonder if there are worries re Amartey fitness Basically confirmed
Buzzell Posted 19 February 2016 Posted 19 February 2016 Would like to see Amartey but wouldn't be suprised if Was got the nod.
EnderbyFox Posted 19 February 2016 Posted 19 February 2016 "kicked off in training" The 1st team squad are on Holiday are they not?
Sharpe's Fox Posted 19 February 2016 Posted 19 February 2016 Wasilewski is a beast of a centre back but a shocking right back. Remember in the promotion season we played Wednesday at home and he was playing RB and had an absolute mare aganst Connor fvcking Wickham. Basically only ever any good when he doesn't have to move.
goose2010 Posted 19 February 2016 Posted 19 February 2016 "kicked off in training" The 1st team squad are on Holiday are they not? Well Simpson was definitely in Dubai yesterday so even if he is back I doubt he would of trained today.

KingKante Posted 19 February 2016 Posted 19 February 2016 We should play the trailed and tested successful 3-5-2 using albrighton and Fuchs/schlupp (if fit) as wing backs and have a 3 man centre back brick wall in defence with Huth, Morgan and Was!
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 19 February 2016 Posted 19 February 2016 We should play the trailed and tested successful 3-5-2 using albrighton and Fuchs/schlupp (if fit) as wing backs and have a 3 man centre back brick wall in defence with Huth, Morgan and Was! Not a bad shout, worked very well last season with the 3 centre backs and wing backs. Hard to know if it would work again, maybe/maybe not. We'll have to wait and see. We've got a lot of good options, so whoever is picked at RB or whoever comes in for Simpson will get my full support
TheUltimateWinner Posted 19 February 2016 Posted 19 February 2016 "Basically confirmed" *posts picture of a tweet by some random Boro supporter* I think you missed the point
