Langley Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 Amarty is going to be playing tonight might put him in that position to test him out vs Man City U21.
Gerard Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 Amarty is going to be playing tonight might put him in that position to test him out vs Man City U21. Surely he plays RB tonight just to give us options against Norwich?
Guest MattP Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 Can he actually play RB? Everything I've read says centre back or centre mid.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 I can't comment on Amartey as not seen him, out of other choices Was then Liam both have points to prove for different reasons!
Jackster21 Posted 18 February 2016 Posted 18 February 2016 I would pick Amartey as Was is to slow and also it will be good experience for Amartey. If not then Was however defiantly not Moore or Albrighton.
st albans fox Posted 18 February 2016 Posted 18 February 2016 Norwich won't be slow to put pressure on this potential weakness so whoever starts there can expect a thorough examination.
LeicesterAreGoingUp Posted 18 February 2016 Posted 18 February 2016 I'd have Albrighton RB and gray ahead of him
Guest Col city fan Posted 18 February 2016 Posted 18 February 2016 We need to win this game. No excuses. We are pushing for the title, they are a very very mediocre side. Regarding right back, I still don't know why we let Richie go out on loan. That made little sense then and even less now. I'm assuming Amartey will play RB?
4everfox Posted 18 February 2016 Posted 18 February 2016 Harsh. Ranieri could turn him into a much better player in the same way as Wes. He has shown enough potential to be given a chance if he works hard.Very true indeed, good point. I think Simpson would be a better example of the 'Ranieri effect' then Morgan though. He was utterly terrible last season and since Ranieri came in he looks every bit a Premier League right back, incredible turnaround.

He was utterly terrible last season and since Ranieri came in he looks every bit a Premier League right back, incredible turnaround. I think Simpson has perhaps been the biggest turnaround of all. Last season his passing was truly awful. As in.., REALLY bad. This season, he looks just a different player entirely. That said, I maintain that the back four have all benefitted from having a much better midfield in front of them.
weller54 Posted 18 February 2016 Posted 18 February 2016 I'd have Albrighton RB and gray ahead of him Gray at RB?? You are kidding right?
Guest Col city fan Posted 18 February 2016 Posted 18 February 2016 Gray at RB?? You are kidding right? Someone would have Gray at RB? Wtf... has he EVER ever played as a defender?

Agreed, I can't think of many players who haven't improved from last season to be honest. Kramaric(although not given a chance)? Ulloa? After that I'm struggling.
Wymsey Posted 18 February 2016 Posted 18 February 2016 I would give Albrighton a go. Very reliable defensively and better than both De Laet and Simpson going forward.
matty98 Posted 18 February 2016 Posted 18 February 2016 Albrighton as a rightback would ruin us defensively from set plays, we'd be way too small as a team, has to be Amartey unless we play 3 at the back.
Izzy Posted 18 February 2016 Posted 18 February 2016 Wasyl at RB v Norwich for me. He'll be desperate to make amends for his mistake at Arsenal and Claudio will give him the chance to redeem himself - just a hunch...
LeicesterAreGoingUp Posted 19 February 2016 Posted 19 February 2016 Gray at RB?? You are kidding right? I put I'd have Albrighton at RB and gray ahead of him on the pitch, as in Right midfield ...
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 19 February 2016 Posted 19 February 2016 We need to win this game. No excuses. We are pushing for the title, they are a very very mediocre side. Regarding right back, I still don't know why we let Richie go out on loan. That made little sense then and even less now. I'm assuming Amartey will play RB?I would of thought so ColI think the only reason we let RDL go on loan is Amartey being versatile and can play as a defender or midfielder
Foxxed Posted 19 February 2016 Posted 19 February 2016 Wait, if Chillwell can play right back, I'd give him a go. I've no idea what Amartey is like. Bloody hope he can play RB anyway. Not sure where else he'll get in the team, unless for a tactical change. Was is probably the safest choice, or Liam Moore if he's been playing well in the U21 matches he's been in recently. It'll be quite exciting to see what Ranners does.
NotTheMarketLeader Posted 19 February 2016 Posted 19 February 2016 Dunno who said it in the match thread, but that red card could be a blessing in disguise. Simpson's been great but Amartey could give us something extra. Bit like our great escape really. James injury allowed Kingy to come into the side and he was perfect next to Cambiasso. Kingy the saviour?I see someone else has pointed out that we got a point at Sunderland the week after James's injury so that hardly suggests Andys many faces made the difference. That said I will agree he did play well during that period of games, but then they all did.
The_77 Posted 19 February 2016 Posted 19 February 2016 Without seeing anything but some (impressive) YouTube videos of Armatey, my first choice is Albrighton at RB, with Grey getting the start on the wing. Amartey might slot in just fine but I think he should get a taste of the league before he's thrown into a starting position. Also, it looks like he plays the majority of his games in the middle of the field, not at fullback. That said, I think we'll be just fine at home no matter who starts at RB against Norwich.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 19 February 2016 Posted 19 February 2016 I'd go with Albrighton for definite. Wasilewski will get minced on the wing by Redmond.
Gerard Posted 19 February 2016 Posted 19 February 2016 It won't be Albrighton and I'm amazed how many people are calling for it. We lose Danny Simpson for one game at home to Norwich and people are shuffling the whole side around. It will be: 1) Amartey ideally but that all depends how fit and how much he has impressed since being here, that's why he played RB in the last development squad game. 2) Was is the tried and trusted if there are doubts about Amartey. 3) Chilwell could be the leftfield choice. I'd go with Albrighton for definite. Wasilewski will get minced on the wing by Redmond. Redmond plays on the right and Was dealt with Sanchez very well.
Countryfox Posted 19 February 2016 Posted 19 February 2016 Chilwell, Was, or the new boy if CR thinks he's up to speed and will fit in. I wouldn't risk Amartey just yet and would probably go for Was but stick Amartey on if he is having a bad time. Simples !
Dickov22 Posted 19 February 2016 Posted 19 February 2016 I think people are forgetting how tough it is playing against sides who are trying to avoid relegation. On paper we should win, but they're fighting for their lives. It'll be another tough game. Would ideally like to see De Laet but surely if we sign a player for a decent amount of money, then loan out our second choice right back, then said player must come in. Amartey for me. Wasilewksi is a centre half, not a right back. I don't think we should play players out of position, even if it is against a supposedly weaker side.
