DB11 Posted 2 March 2016 Author Posted 2 March 2016 Kasper - 4 - All over the place again. No idea when to come off his line or not and his kicking is regularly pathetic. Simpson - 3 - Defensively he didn't have to do much. In a match we dominated, he was way too ponderous in possession and struggles to get the ball under control - a sign of a very average player I'm afraid. Morgan - 9 - Thought he drove forward all game like a captain should and was largely solid at the back. Huth - 5 - Allegedly at fault for the goal but I have only seen it once. We had a lot of the ball and like Simpson, he didn't move it quick enough and seems too happy to kick into touch. Fuchs - 3 - Gave the ball away countless times and looked nervous. A rare poor performance. Mahrez - 6 - The odd run brought people to their feet but he was largely frustrating. Nice assist though. King - 3 - Aside from his goal he was shocking. He's no Kante, we know that, but he just lacked any sort of work rate or intensity. He gave players way too much space and barely won a tackle. Some of the ratings for him on here are ludicrous. Drinkwater - 9 - Exceptional, especially considering he was doing 2 players' jobs in the middle. Another mature display which shows why he should be a serious consideration for an England spot. Albrighton - 8 - Thought he had a very good game and looked dangerous throughout. No idea why he was taken off. Okazaki - 3 - A lot of running around but he's too erratic. One minute his touch is fabulous, the next it's awful. His finishing is consistently poor though, and it cost us big time last night. There's a just a lack of quality from him which is why he should have been replaced with a better striker in January. Vardy - 5 - Did well until he got in the box, where he could and arguably should have scored a hat-trick. Ulloa - 6 - Didn't do much wrong but no telling contribution Schlupp - 3 - Absolute donkey. Take away his pace and he's one of the worst players you've seen at this level. He's too thick to even use his pace most of the time. Gray - 5 - Like Ulloa, did ok but not quite enough. Let me guess - Ranieri out as well?
AKCJ Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 Let me guess - Ranieri out as well? Can we vote for "Kitch out"?
AKCJ Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 Unlike Kitchandro to bring the party down. Also, shout out to Rondon for being the first player I've seen manage to outmuscle Big Wes. Rondon looked superb IMO. Best striker's performance here since Ighalo.

Definitely needs replacing if we want to continue to perform near the top. That's right, he didn't catch or clear any crosses against Norwich... Oh wait... Still, he's not been part of a defence that's been the best for the last half of this season and which has had five clean sheets in a row in the league at home... Oh wait. Whatever. Don't like him. Get rid.
AjcW Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 Kitch really does have the perfect name considering how outdated and old fashioned his opinions are.

Definitely needs replacing if we want to continue to perform near the top. Don't get the hate for Kasper. Who would you replace him with? I can't think of anyone around at the moment who would join us to improve that position. His spirit and passion sum up this team, and I'd bet he'd be first choice for 14/15 other P/L clubs. I agree he doesn't command his area, but after watching the Shilton's of this world for years, I just don't see any goalkeeper dominating their areas like keepers did in those days. It's more about shot stopping and quick feet nowadays. I think this has a lot to do with the footballs. They are lighter, bend all over the place and I suspect are much more unpredictable or difficult to catch, hence why so many keepers stay on their lines and only punch rather than catch. Kasper plays to our style, and his quick distribution, although very patchy, sets up plenty of counter attacks and has lead to several goals. It's the reason we often leave three up at corners and it gives other teams another thing to worry about. I totally agree he needs some competition though, and we should be looking to sign another top keeper in the summer.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 Drinky easily motm. Otherwise sixes all round. Okazaki definitely a five tops
Sionnach gorm Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 You have gotta be kidding me. The team played well and no one deserves a five! I just think luck played a big part in this game. It happens. I much preferred this game to many others. I thought Ranieri did a fantastic job in staging this game. The opportunities were there and there is nothing you can do when the ball goes two centimeters up or down. I trust this team and I trust Ranieri with his choice of players (he certainly knows who the feck is doing what and when during their training).

Sublime_Coatsworth Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 <- MOTM Calling Schlupperman a donkey is embarassing He was easily the best of subs Agreed, Schlupp is an impact player. Gray just worries the crap out of me, he's like a rabbit caught in the headlights and out of his depth on these sorts of pressure games.
ThaiFox Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Agreed, Schlupp is an impact player. Gray just worries the crap out of me, he's like a rabbit caught in the headlights and out of his depth on these sorts of pressure games. 100% agree with both points. I've said it several times in these rating reports that I just can't understand why Ranieri keeps bringing Gray on in critical situations. When he brought him on at Arse'nal I was stunned...a luxury player who has yet to prove himself......yet he took off Mahrez after the sending off. It just didn't make any sense. As for Schlupp, I thought he was excellent against WBA. Looked hungry and dangerous, and pleased to see him back. OK, he is often clumsy and his football brain is far from ideal, but he frightens the shorts off defenders with his pace and they must dread it when he comes on. Like Ulloa, I think both are excellent players to have on the bench. As I've said on here a few times, I often wonder if people voting actually watch the matches or just vote for their favourites, or just want to moan. I always try to be as objective as possible, hence my rating for Okazaki, who played well on Tuesday, but must start stepping up and taking some chances to take some pressure off Vardy and Mahrez.

The fact Ranieri is placing Gray on the bench instead of Dyer speaks volumes. We routinely sub either Albrighton, Mahrez or both in every game, so you'd imagine if Dyer had shown anything close to what we know he can do, Gray wouldn't even be on the bench! For goodness sake, he'll even prefer Kanté on the wing than Dyer!

For goodness sake, he'll even prefer Kanté on the wing than Dyer! I suspect Ranieri has made his mind up on Dyer and doesn't feel him right for the future. I'd now be very surprised if we sign him after his loan period runs out. Personally, I think we need better than Dyer, although I'll never forget his wonderful contribution against the Villa. He was excellent when he came on. Gray has obvious potential and I'm glad we signed him, but with us chasing the highest honour in our history, we need steel in tight matches and I don't get it that Ranieri puts him on in these crucial situations. I'd understand it more if he came on if we were cruising in a match and could then show his flair, but it looks to me he is frightened of making a mistake or giving the ball away when the match is so close.
