The OH bought a brand new car today off @tom27111

Contacted him via FT, told him our budget and want we wanted and  he sorted in super quick time and hassle free.

Highly recommend Tom if you’re on the lookout for a new motor.

It broken down yet?

FFS lol

That's the MG side of our business. They are cheap for a reason.

Sometimes, they're short staffed and us Nissan guys have to help out. Out of the 6 or 7 MG's I've sold, every single one has come back with a fault. The boss just goes "Oh yeah, that's a common fault"

You get what you pay for.

We've just bought a new Nissan Juke for the Mrs, it's lovely.

@Izzy, do you wash your cars in the winter at home or do you go to those garage vehicle car washes. It gets bloody freezing over here and the salt/brine they use is not good for cars.

I gave up watching pan the advertiser he is gone a bit twatish lol watching some other channels but figured I'd ask a real pro there steps and process.

I'm hardly a real pro but thanks anyway bro :D

There's no way I'll go to a garage car wash, even in winter. Auto car washes leave swirl marks all over your paintwork and the brushes on DIY car washes are too course and also cause damage. Even if you take it to a drive through hand wash, they use cheap chemicals, drop towels in the gravel then reuse them, and always miss bits. I'd much rather freeze my tits off and do a proper job at home.

Here's a couple of YT video's on top tips for washing your car in winter (P.S. follow The Detail Geek - he's a fellow Canadian and less of a twat than Pan the Advertiser :D)

Lol. To be fair I assumed he didn't but we get such extreme weather over here compared to there that perhaps he might have another plan. Can't wash outside in -15!

Thanks for the reply. I have learned a lot from various videos but what threw me off was that we get caked on salt/brine which rinseless washes seem to not be able to handle without first having to go to a coin bay wash and power wash it down. The problem is, I tried doing that last year on my older ride and froze my arse off trying to dry it. Hands were numb. We don't always get above 0 weather which is the problem. Perhaps I am over thinking it!

Maybe I don't need to do that part and can just try the rinseless thing but am worried about scratching the surface.  I agree with you though, I refuse to take it through  touchless or nontouchless wash!

Thanks for the videos, I am going to learn some more.

Day off here today so I get to wash my rides. Nice weather for washing as the  high is 8 or 10!

I don't suppose anyone owns a Hyundai Ioniq 5N - been watching videos on it for weeks looks unbelievable and i know has cleared up on the awards front as well. On the shortlist for next EV

My only advice would be, whatever you do, don't buy a brand new EV outright or on finance.

yes - they absolutely bomb don't they once you have clocked a few miles on them

Looks nice but you can get a porsche Macan electric turbo for same price

But then you'd have to drive a porsche that isn't a 911 and thats a crime.

I recently bought (finance) a mid range second hand EV. Just shy of 3yrs old. It was a great deal and only had 20k on the clock.

The original price was nearly £37k!. There are some good deals out there.

Used, absolutely, some really good value to be had, but new, you'll massively regret it financially.

I'm yet to see anyone who bought a new EV have equity in their car. £6000 is the least negative equity I've seen.

The only way you'll get out of a PCP deal on one is to go full term, hand it back to the bank and start again.

Oh god, i wouldn't even go near a new one! I meant good deals on Used. It was always my choice when considering an EV initially. Like you say, the value plummets and it's quite shocking by how much.

Leasing is probably the best option for new, I guess.

I’ve seen £40k negative equity on a Taycan 😳

That was not the case just a few years ago  and when the Tesla's were first released new buyers were selling them on for a profit.  Unfortunately second hand prices have bombed so I will be holding on to mine for some time,  but still expect the market to turn around at some point as people realise how good and cheap these things are to drive/own. If not then it will probably see me out.

Yep I bought my Tesla 3 years ago and rhe used market was really strong. Since then it's tanked though. Which is why I'm not getting rid of mine any time soon.
