Guest Danny Clender Posted 11 January 2017 Posted 11 January 2017 http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/busiest-player-in-premier-league/story-30046646-detail/story.html Great article in The Merc today about Morgan. I agree with it, Its some run of games at any level of football. He gets some stick on here for his howlers, but he always makes up for them.
StriderHiryu Posted 11 January 2017 Posted 11 January 2017 Amazing stats really. If anything it makes you wonder if it's why his performances have dropped off this season. Everyone's body catches up with them in the end, and having someone to come in for some games would be useful. Thought that would be Hernandez, but it's not proven to be the case.
M0901 Posted 11 January 2017 Posted 11 January 2017 Everything he's accomplished here in 5 years, and he cost a measly £1m. £1m. His level of consistency and game time is astonishing.
Koke Posted 11 January 2017 Posted 11 January 2017 Wes Morgan goes on to the list of legendary defenders we've had in the last 2 decades. Elliott, Walsh, Taggart and Morgan.
AKCJ Posted 11 January 2017 Posted 11 January 2017 There'll be a statue outside with him lifting the trophy with Ranieri one day.

I think once this era comes to an end, we need to commemorate it with a statue. It would really add a degree of history to our ground- it has seen a lot since it opened, and has really felt far less like a soulless bowl for the past couple of years. The image of Wes and Ranieri lifting the trophy would be perfect. It's amazing how few games Wes has missed since he joined, and the ones he has missed have pretty much all been due to suspension. He's an absolute machine. Anyone know how many games he's missed for us because of injury?

Really hope we do put up a statue of that ilk, outside the ground. I will still say we need more statues and historical stuff in & around the stadium, but this would be a real start for sure.

dannythefox Posted 11 January 2017 Posted 11 January 2017 He doesn't get the credit he deserves. He's been the most consistent player since he came to us.

Aleksander Tunchev - went to the Polish league after us and now plays in the Bulgarian league. Matt Mills - sold to Bolton and now plays in a dire Forest side near the bottom of the Championship. Sol Bamba - sold to Trabzonspor and now plays for Cardiff having bust up with managers. Sean St Ledger - signed by Ipswich from us, didn't make a single appearance for them and now plays in the MLS. George Taft - Binned off to Burton Albion and now plays for Mansfield Town in League 2.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 11 January 2017 Posted 11 January 2017 One of our greatest ever signings, solidified us defensively to get us promoted, keep us up and win the premier league. Thank you Walsh for spotting him, Pearson for turning him into a top flight defender and our fitness team for getting him into great shape.
