Chester Dontlie Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 Wasyl could trade his daughter's chocolate medal with Schluppers
NewEnglandFox Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 One thing the Yanks do correct is they give a ring or a medal to all team members, even those who haven't played. They are right. If you are part of the team you should be getting something! Who knows what contribution they have given without playing? The Prem has barbaric standards! Cheap bastards! If it's the team, it's even worse! The teams pay for the rings in the US. The league is supplying a criterion for medals here. Who's paying makes all the difference and it's frankly absurd to compare Robert Kraft dropping $5M on rings for his team to calling the Prem barbaric for not doing that. I don't blame the Prem for only giving out medals. That's their reward, not the chairman's. The club can (and will) get more medals. We know Vichai's giving everyone an electric Mercedes as well.
Bedford Fox Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 Maybe they are fake or chic like you say but they are more than some players got
Merging Cultures Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 I am proud that these 5 players are the initial ones to come out. It's very brave of them.
Len Finsbury Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 You'd think that all players registered for the season should get one. 25 players in a PL squad, 25 players' medals. No arguments then.
Guest MattP Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 Agree with those who say any player who has played in the PL deserves a medal.
Vicki Vixen Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 You'd think that all players registered for the season should get one. 25 players in a PL squad, 25 players' medals. No arguments then. No. The 25 man list excludes U21 players who may have played a key part in the season. Gray was on our U21 list rather than the main list, for example. The main list included the likes of Moore, Hamer and Kramaric. The squad list is renewed half way through the season, so there may be more than 25 players anyway when you put the two lists together.
AKCJ Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 You should get an "appearance" for being on the bench IMO.
Merging Cultures Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 I am very certain they received medals. But perhaps someone close to the club and email them, saying we are concerned and would like all the players to get medals. I'm sure they will reply positively.
ThaiFox Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 Players on the bench, or not picked for the match day squad can be as, if not more, important. Their attitude, professionalism and support to others can be critical in team sport, where often players are selfish. Take Wasyl, always so committed. If anyone deserves a medal this season it's him. I even remember him really upset after the Arsenal match as his silly foul cost us a point. Look at his celebrations at Vardy's house, and last Sunday. This guy supports the team and is as important as the starting 11. In my view, Wasyl is almost a club legend and one of our best ever signings.
Jimothy Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 The players kids were parading with medals around their necks, so I suspect that everone will have a medal, but not presented on the pitch...at least I hope so. Just saw an interview with Danny Simpson from Saturday, those kids medals were chocolate
norwichfox Posted 11 May 2016 Posted 11 May 2016 Just saw an interview with Danny Simpson from Saturday, those kids medals were chocolate And here was me thinking they were solid gold nice to include the kids with something that looks like "dads medal"
cambridgefox Posted 11 May 2016 Posted 11 May 2016 christ I thought this was going to say half the squad was gay....my eyes are watering just thinking about Was.
WigstonWanderer Posted 11 May 2016 Posted 11 May 2016 Very important to make players on the bench feel involved & fully part of the team, particularly with a potential enlargement for more games next season.
waddadamadda Posted 11 May 2016 Posted 11 May 2016 I noticed that. Mahrez's family all had medals. Danny Simpson briefly mentions this in an interview. His daughter was wearing the real one and he had a replica on. I'm guessing this is case for the others.
Len Finsbury Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 No. Ah okay, I see. Not as simple as it seemed then.
MC Prussian Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 My initial thought upon seeing them five coming out of the tunnel first was "Uh, are they the ones leaving the club this summer then?", as if it was an omen.
