Sky. Too much OTT and giving air-time on W.Ham leaving Upton Park

Leicester fans at Upton Park, May 1992.   Against Charlton - we took 10,000 and completely took over the ground.

Honestly wouldn't surprise me if they were told they have to play in an empty stadium for a fair few matches after that. That'l go down well with their 50,000 season ticket holders

The send off's fine and so's tonight's result but what the hell were United doing. They get 2-1 in front. Their principal job, defensively, is to prevent crosses into the box yet they give away unnecessary free-kicks.

You really couldn't make it up. Yet the manager's paid stacks. West Ham are about as ordinary as green top milk. They're willing and committed. But, basically, they're third gear and predictable, particularly second half when most of their adrenalin's been drained.

Yet LVG can't hold onto a 2-1 lead by applying some of the basics of the coaching manual.

Can't believe it really but it happened cos I watched it.

Okay United are about 20% of what they ought to be and have so little fear factor it's embarrassing for a club of their pedigree.

But what the hell are they paying big wages for?

Apart from Martial they'd have made a game of snap seem exciting.

# The other name I refuse to use , it was always Upton Park.

# The OTT 2 days solid coverage meant, Sky shown they are

LONDON bias, with too many London based commentators.

# I missed decent air time reporting of the other 3 leagues promotion and relegation.

# Skysports news didnt fairly deliver other Sports news of the weekend, over the

Monday and Tuesday.

# I enjoyed and was happy with them celebrating Upton Park history

but they left alot of history behind they didnt mention.

#W.Ham with Everton were my Secondary teams, or clubs I just liked

From the Early 60s.We as kids when playing on our local greens,

used to have to choose names not from Leicester City, so for me

I was either GK. J Standen, or Alex Young.

# For many W.Ham/Chelsea were the 60s-70s entertainers, lacking the killer gene.

## Now because of a few idiots, their celebrations and reporting of their big day

will be stained.I hope street camerashave tracked them, so.........

They get jail time, and a life ban.In that crowd there could of been more injuries,

Or worse.A very bad taste is left behind on a club I always loved to watch.

I wouldn't get too worked up about it. Sky have half a dozen sports channels and they have to fill them with something. A club of West Ham's stature playing their last game is sufficiently "interesting" to football/sports fans. It's not like BBC1 and ITV cancelled their schedules to show it.

This game was never supposed to be this week anyway - the last game was due to be last Saturday. The United game was originally scheduled for FA Cup Semi Final weekend but was postponed when United reached the semis (at West Ham's expense). So that gave the last game a more interesting edge.

I see top pornographer David Sullivan has backtracked on his very forthright claim last night that the Man Utd coach wasn't damaged, which he made literally as footage was being circulated of said bus with its windows broken.

Perhaps he doesn't know about the internet and things like that, and how when things happen in very public places full of people that they do usually get recorded now

It's because there based in London, Arsenal had the same coverage when they left Highbury. Anyone else north of watford they couldn't give a monkey's. I don't think we got that much coverage when we left Filbert Street.

We didn't get ANY coverage. It wasn't even live on sky and it's not mentioned on that Premier League years programme.

It is a great shame Upton Park is going, the West Ham fans will be gutted once they realise how bad the Olympic Stadium is in comparison. It may be big but it's a much a football stadium as my back garden. Upton Park was one of the best grounds in the country.

But they're talking about it like it's Wembley. They forget that the ground means nothing to people who aren't West Ham fans.

It's just a typical cockney love in.
