davieG Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Champions Leicester account for half the 10 nominees for the Barclays Premier League Player of the Season award. Riyad Mahrez, already named PFA Player of the Year, is on a 10-man shortlist along with Football Writers' Footballer of the Year Jamie Vardy. N'Golo Kante, goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel and captain Wes Morgan are also in the running along with West Ham's Dimitri Payet and Mesut Ozil of Arsenal. The final three nominees come from Tottenham - top scorer Harry Kane, PFA Young Player of the Year Dele Alli and defender Toby Alderweireld. The winner of the award, inaugurated in 1995 and chosen by a panel featuring administrators, fans and members of the media - will be announced on Friday.
thybluefox Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Kane hasn't finished top scorer yet. Jamie bags two against Chelsea, Kane & Aguero don't score, Vardy wins it.
Koke Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 PFA player of the year FWA player of the season Premier League title Golden boot (hopefully) Golden glove (hopefully) 4 LCFC players in team of the year. We came, we saw, we conquered. Cleaning up awards for fun. I don't think the magnitude of this will sink in for a few years.
mikey_b Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 it only said he is top scorer, which he currently is - jeez!
Stevosevic Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 This isn't a big award is it? Vardy and Mahrez won the traditional more established awards.

Mampi Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 In my opinion Vardy should win this award. His and your clubs story are phenomenal and ought to be recognised. At his age there may not be many future opportunities. I sincerely hope he carries his form into the Euros and starts upfront running off Kane.
fuchsntf Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 N'GOLO Kante... The only choice for me. Admins, Fans, media , alike always put him forward, for the power house, and that something extra special, when the theme came up over the whole season. Mahrez, Vardy harvested his work, Wes and the rest of the defence knew there was a stubborn natural barrier in front of them, the rest of the team knew, Kante with Drinkwater gave them breathing space and the engine of the whole teams movements. Not forgetting this engine ran smoothly and not once spluttered or broke down...N'golo is the only choice..!!!
foxy boxing Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 i would imagine kante will win the award, vardy and mahrez have already bagged an award and kante has been phenominal for us this season,
fuchsntf Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Riyad Riyad Riyad Riyad MMMMMMMaaahrez https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xTXY0r7FsMc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgUx7bIeroo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6exoKbyJ0Q https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTqAu6wt3H4 Hes had his recognition, more times over and deservedly so. But now its time for another to rightly take the plaudits.. Kante...end of !!
Shelf Side Spurs Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Kante for me, amongst many equals, but he is the engine that makes everything else work right across the team. The defence and goal keeper deserve much (unheralded) credit....if you aren't going to score many, keeping them out is equally important. We've been a goal or more up this season against Stoke, You, Newcastle, Chelsea, Southampton, WBA twice and Arsenal twice, and have drawn or lost those games....that's a lot of points and why 1-0 wins are as important as any other.
Master Fox Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 N'golo is the greatest player that ever lived. Every single player can leave, but as long as we have N'golo we're winning everything. Best player I've ever seen, ever. Love N'golo

I agree with the point you're making Shelf Side, and yes it's even more prevalent when you consider that for a large chunk of the season we were actually the top scorers. Then at the business end we tightened up in our ruthless pursuit of the title.
