DB11 Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 Over the course of the season, with the exception of eight games around the end of the 2015 and start of 2016, FoxesTalk visitors have been able to cast votes after each Leicester City fixture. I will post a summary of these over the next few days and they will be in three parts. Part 1: Referee and Opposition Awards Part 2: Manager and Team Awards Part 3: Player Awards Referees Best Refereeing Performance : Mark Clattenburg Mark Clattenburg @ Leicester City 4-0 Swansea City : 8.40 Andre Marriner @ Leicester City 3-1 Everton : 7.11 Anthony Taylor @ Leicester City 0-2 Tottenham Hotspur : 6.89 Craig Pawson @ Leicester City 1-0 Newcastle United : 6.70 Anthony Taylor @ Manchester City 1-3 Leicester City : 6.54 Worst Refereeing Performance : Jon Moss Jon Moss @ Leicester City 2-2 West Ham United : 1.74 Martin Atkinson @ Arsenal 2-1 Leicester City : 3.30 Craig Pawson @ Leicester City 2-5 Arsenal : 3.74 Neil Swarbrick @ AFC Bournemouth 1-1 Leicester City : 3.78 Roger East @ Aston Villa 1-1 Leicester City : 4.00 Top Voted Referee : Mark Clattenburg Mark Clattenburg : 6.85 (3 games) Mike Jones : 6.14 (2 games) Michael Oliver : 6.04 (3 games) Andre Marriner : 5.93 (3 games) Peter Tierney : 5.91 (1 game) Peter Bankes : 5.83 (1 game) Craig Pawson : 5.82 (4 games) Anthony Taylor : 5.72 (5 games) Stuart Attwell : 5.62 (1 game) Mike Dean : 5.55 (3 games) Bobby Madley : 5.4 (1 game) Roger East : 5.13 (2 games) Lee Mason : 4.98 (1 game) Neil Swarbrick : 4.67 (2 games) Martin Atkinson : 4.09 (2 games) Jon Moss : 3.9 (2 games) Anthony Taylor took charge of more City games than any other referee, but only averaged 5.72Jon Moss was the man in the middle for the West Ham fixture in which he dismissed Jamie Vardy and awarded two controversial penalties, one to either side, which was rated the worst refereeing performance of the season. If you remove this anomalous result, Martin Atkinson was consistently the worst referee Opposition Best Opposition Performance : Arsenal (H) Leicester City 2-5 Arsenal : 8.39 Manchester United 1-1 Leicester City : 6.82 Leicester City 0-2 Tottenham Hotspur (FAC) : 6.81 Leicester City 2-2 West Ham United : 6.48 Leicester City 1-0 Southampton : 6.46 Worst Opposition Performance : Newcastle (A) Newcastle United 0-3 Leicester City : 2.41 Leicester City 4-2 Sunderland : 3.40 Leicester City 3-1 Everton : 3.56 Swansea City 0-3 Leicester City : 3.58 Leicester City 3-0 Stoke City : 3.72 Opposition League Table (Premier League Only) Arsenal : 7.32 Tottenham Hotspur : 6.44 Chelsea : 6.43 Southampton : 6.22 West Ham : 6.17 Man Utd : 6.13 Watford : 6.05 Norwich : 5.81 Bournemouth : 5.79 Liverpool : 5.68 Crystal Palace : 5.65 Aston Villa : 5.4 West Brom : 5.27 Man City : 4.89 Stoke : 4.86 Sunderland : 4.3 Newcastle : 4.06 Swansea : 3.86 Everton : 3.56 Adding the Leicester City team, based on team performance, would see us finishing in 2nd place with an average rating of 6.88
Fox92 Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 Nice read, cheers DB. Arsenal head and shoulders above any other opposition for me, although I still think Southampton were the second best team to come here.
Swarles Barkley Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 so we won the league but overall fans didnt think we were even 7/10 over the season. How are people voting on this. Doesnt make any sense

Long Eaton Fox Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 The opposition scores are based on the two games played against us so therefore as Arsenal beat us twice they will be top. Our scores are bases on the 38 games played over the season and therefore average out more evenly. That's what I believe anyway.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 Have to agree with Arsenal (h) being the best opposition performance. They were just excellent on the day. As Fox92 said Southampton (h) were also good.
UPinCarolina Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 Our rating was based on our performance on any given day versus our maximum potential (10) = It's fair to say that a team that rates higher than 7/10 on maximum potential can and should hoist the trophy, and that's very nearly what we saw reflected here. It's worth noting, however, that changing expectations over the course of the season can affect voting patterns - I'm sure that we witnessed that.
VLC86 Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 How come Jon Moss got worst performance by a ref? Have I missed something?
Donut Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 Referees are good when we win and bad when we lose. Revelation. I mean look at Arsenal away ffs, that was simply the fact we lost that the ref got the low number. Otherwise, interesting reading.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 So according to that City fans think Arsenal were better than us.
Zapp Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 So according to that City fans think Arsenal were better than us. In the 2 games they played against us yeah. Considering one they hammered 5 past us and the other they were against 10 men Can't think who but someone pointed out Arsenal were up for the 2 games against us. We were up for for all 38. And that's why we finished 10 clear of them
Raw Dykes Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 Statgasm! And this is only part 1! Great work, @@DB11. These averaged out ratings make for interesting reading. Much appreciated.
Koke Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 Newcastle rated as worst performance with 2.41 They were absolutely shocking though. I don't know which Newcastle performance is worse, Newcastle in November or Newcastle last May when John Carver accused his own player of deliberately getting sent off cos he had no bottle. That was abysmal as well.
ScouseFox Posted 21 May 2016 Posted 21 May 2016 Newcastle rated as worst performance with 2.41 They were absolutely shocking though. I don't know which Newcastle performance is worse, Newcastle in November or Newcastle last May when John Carver accused his own player of deliberately getting sent off cos he had no bottle. That was abysmal as well. or Newcastle in the cup last year when their fans booed from start to finish because their players clearly weren't trying. Think I gave all three performances a 1.
