DJ Barry Hammond Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 Official link below. https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote Just need your name, adress, date of birth and NINO to do it - takes about 5 minutes. If you're not registered, just do it even if you're undecided at the moment. Seperate thread creating for visual awareness. Happy for it to be deleted later tomorrow.
AKCJ Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 No excuse for not voting. Do your homework and decide what you think is best and vote.
AKCJ Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 How do you know whether you are registered or not? http://lmgtfy.com/?q=how+do+i+know+if+i%27m+registered+to+vote
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 7 June 2016 Author Posted 7 June 2016 How do you know whether you are registered or not? If in doubt, can't imagine there's any harm going for it anyway. If you had a voting card for the recent local elections (if one's were around you) then you're ok.
Collymore Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 No excuse for not voting. Do your homework and decide what you think is best and vote.So from what I can tell so far - older people with a mortgage paid off are better off out but if you're younger and starting out you're better in? just realised there's another thread mods. DJ Barry Hammond Posted 7 June 2016 Author Posted 7 June 2016 Leave the political debate out of this one - just focus on voting registration questions in here and if I can help, I will do.

The Blur Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 already registered. if you are registered you would have had a polling card by now or if you are registered for postal vote (like myself) you will have already had your vote. How quickly did you received your postal vote after applying?
ramboacdc Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 How quickly did you received your postal vote after applying? mrs applied 2 weeks ago and got her confirmation and postal vote a week later. i registered to postal vote in march and it turned up 2 weeks ago.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 7 June 2016 Author Posted 7 June 2016 How quickly did you received your postal vote after applying? https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/apply-for-a-postal-vote Postal voting link - need to get the form into local office at least 11 working days before requiring to vote, so if applying now you might be cutting it fine.
Izzy Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 already registered. if you are registered you would have had a polling card by now or if you are registered for postal vote (like myself) you will have already had your vote. I've had a poll card through the post a few weeks back with a register number on it. Do I just take this to my polling station on June 23rd?

Do I just take this to my polling station on June 23rd? You shouldn't have to - but given the Barnet area **** ups in the locals, it wouldn't be a bad idea to have it with you.

Do I just take this to my polling station on June 23rd? yeah. you don't have to take the polling card but you can if you want. makes it easier for them to find you on the register.

Yeah, I have received confirmation that I will be moving houses this month hence the late request for the postal vote. The problem is that I do not know the exact moving date so I may miss my postal vote. EDIT-The deadline is tomorrow, look like I will be unable to vote then

Wymsey Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 In two minds about voting, tbh. The end result will ultimately have it's critics and positivity, just like the UK now. But will probably will vote to not be the 2% that maybe not vote.

ramboacdc Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 I guess just plan to have a redirect on your post in place as soon you know? Any help? postal votes come in "do not redirect" envelopes. like bank cards.
The Blur Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 I guess just plan to have a redirect on your post in place as soon you know? Any help? 5 working days needed to set it up so it may will be too late. Just found out the deadline for proxy voting is next Wednesday so I will be going down that route. Here is the link if anyone is interested in doing this http://www.aboutmyvote.co.uk/register-to-vote/apply-to-vote-by-proxy
