HankMarvin Posted 14 July 2016 Posted 14 July 2016 CLAUDIO RANIERI has revealed he will sign a bumper new four-year deal before the start of the season. He then urged Chelsea target N’Golo Kante to follow his lead — or come clean and admit he is off. Having persuaded Jamie Vardy to snub a career-changing move to Arsenal, Leicesterboss Ranieri now wants Kante to turn his back on Antonio Conte’s Blues and his other mega-rich suitors. And the Italian, 64, says he is ready to set the perfect example by signing a double-your-money £70,000-a-week deal to commit his own future to the defending champions until 2020. Ranieri revealed: “I have the contract and the chairman wants me to sign it. “I don’t have a problem, I am happy to stay. “I think before the season I will sign. But it’s not important because last year I signed a three-year contract. “When my agent comes to me and says ‘sign’, I will sign without looking!” With keeper Kasper Schmeichel and winger Riyad Mahrez also set to stay, Ranieri knows retaining Kante is key to his dream of keeping his title-winning squad together for their first taste of the Champions League. Chelsea, Real Madrid, Juventus and big-spending Chinese outfit Shanghai SIPG are all itching to trigger the France midfielder’s £20million release clause. Leicester have offered the 25-year-old a £100,000-a-week contract extension and Ranieri wants an answer on it — now.
sylofox Posted 14 July 2016 Posted 14 July 2016 Good a sign or fvck off so we can plan. To me that's good news we are not going to be held to ransom. CR was never going. But nice this is sorted.
fuchsntf Posted 15 July 2016 Posted 15 July 2016 For all the young fans, unlike your fellow aged/older fans, you will witnessing the Golden Era of Leicester city football club, listen to your olders, we never dreamt of a period was possible, behold the wonder of the next few years, but listen with awe of the stories that we followed and had to live through to get our beloved foxes, to this pure, purring, relaxing Positive, unequalled competitive tranquillity. Youve never had it so good until a British bull, crashed through the barn, then a smooth, cool, amusing, hard , honest dedicated, clever and sly italian Godfather, coupled with a fine spirit of King Richard, got his charges ,his skulk from volpe to supply the greatest harvest ever. A true FOX whisperer our very own silky italian Claudio Ranieri
foxfanazer Posted 15 July 2016 Posted 15 July 2016 Fully deserved. I like his sentiments regarding Kante too. Yes he's probably our most value commodity but life will go on without him and if he's not fully behind our what we're doing here he needs to go
Bayfox Posted 15 July 2016 Posted 15 July 2016 Not sure he needed a new deal and 4 years is a long time. A lot can change. But as the players seem to love him it's a nice sign we will all stick together and move forward together. If he has issued Kante an ultimatum then that's ok. If it sorts the issue. Playing devil's advocate. Didn't he do this with Esteban and he chose to go. Would hate to hear later on that Kante was happy to stay one more year but didn't because of the ultimatum. Hope mendy is the new Kante if he goes.

As a manager you want to know as soon as possible what players you're taking into the next season so I think he's saying the right things. We might be stalling on a bid for another player until Kante makes his mind up

Bayfox Posted 15 July 2016 Posted 15 July 2016 Well it all worked out for the better didn't it? Granted it did. But I do wonder how long we can keep pushing our luck .
foxy boxing Posted 15 July 2016 Posted 15 July 2016 great news keeping everything in place so we can keep improving and evolving and establish ourselves as a regular force in the premier league enabling us not only to compete with the traditional big boys but to better them as well
