We're singing loud for you Leicester
Our only love since 1884
Oh we'll always fight
For the Blue and White
And the city that sits upon the Soar

Maddison secretly fuming that he’s not got a chant…. After seeing his response to his twitter q&a! He really needs one!

Surprised the club have not given him the heads up on it, they know about it as referenced it on social media.

Maddison has got one but apparently a large amount of our supporters are illiterate and can’t deal with too many words.

What is it? I know the darts one has been sung a few times but it’s very rarely aired.

The darts one. I remember when it got a fairly consistent airing last season many complained that it was too complicated, which it obviously isn’t.

It's not that it's complicated

  • It's not a familiar tune that many people (probably over 30 anyway) know
  • It refers to him being pissed at the darts which even by today's standards is old news
  • his name barely features in the song
  • Chants need to be fairly slow and that's so fast you don't get a chance to even catch the words
  • so few people pick up on it and join in it's no wonder he doesn't know he even has a song. Even the people that know the words are mumbling by the end.

Honestly, at this stage you may as well just sing "Maddison" to an Edelweiss tune. The whole point of player songs is to give the players a lift, at least he'd hear his name rather than a mumbly Chasing the Sun coming from one corner. Think Heskey, Cambiasso, Vardy, Ndidi, Castagne....slow paced, clear words. The reason "There's only one **insert player name here***" was sung for so many players was that it didn't need people to pick up on the words or learn it, they just knew.

- Chase The Sun came out in 2001 and is widely chanted at football, darts and elsewhere. If you don't know the tune (not that it's a hard one to pick up anyway) you've been living under a rock for 20 years.

- Maddison likes having a beer and enjoys darts. Reckon he'd enjoy that reference.

- The first two words are 'James Maddison'. Most football chants mention their subject's name just the once.

- It could be a bit slower, but also needs to be sung with a bit of energy otherwise it just sounds dreary.

- Well, whose fault is that? The people singing or the people not bothering?

Not sure any of three chants we have for Vardy are sung any slower either.

Someone like him would play for our team

Our number 10, he's the one

And he goes by the name James Maddison

What are the lyrics to this one(?), couldn't catch them.

James Maddison plays

Down at Filbert Way

Then gets pissed at the darts

Without any doubt

Shits on Grealish and Mount

Leicester's Superstar

I generally love witty lyrics and I think these lyrics are objectively clever but people are forcing words into this one. The fact that it’s the darts tune in and of itself really says it all (everyone should be able to connect those dots). Just belting out the tune like people do at the darts with “MAD DIS SON” instead of “Hey! Hey! Hey!” would be way more raucous and get everyone joining in.

I’m positive Maddison would be completely aware of what everyone was doing and would get a kick out of it.
