Could Shinji be the missing jigsaw piece in midfield??

So Kante jumped ship to Chelski but now that's history!

Amartey looked a bit out of his depth at times yesterday and Mendy is out injured, but as read somewhere for the champions league Okazaki and Musa have been noted as midfielders so until we get a decent  midfielder hopefully silva coming in January don't you think give our little Japanese Dynamo a run in that position?

he's quick tackles well goes at players like a terrier after a bone why not try him there and see how he goes can't be as bad as yesterday?

That then leaves Slimani upfront with Either Vardy or Musa to grab the goals so what's your thoughts on giving Shinji Kantes old role surely can't be worse than what he have already?

I'd rather not. His first touch is poor. His close control is even worse. And he falls over repeatedly. He doesn't have what it takes to play CM.

Okazaki's best position is on the bench.

Shinji has made the support striker his own. He needs to play and he needs to play there.... Musa replaced him yesterday and did what? His link up play wasn't as good as Okazaki's and he didn't drop into midfield like Okazaki does. We seem to be lost when Okazaki goes off, it happened at Hull too.

We're in full meltdown mode 4 games into the season.

Outstanding lol

There's no melt down where I'm conceded Sol it's just a comment regarding a questionable position where some say what we have aren't good enough thats all !!

That's what I mean we miss Shinji when he goes off so to keep him continuing to support the team when Claudio plays Slimani rather have him on the pitch than on the bench ?

i really think he could prove a lot of people wrong in the midfield position !!

I know we're now in a position where we have Mahrez, Albrighton, Gray, Kapuska, Slimani, Vardy, Okazaki, Musa all playing for four positions maximum. We didn't need more and more forwards it was the defence that needed looking at.

You make an interesting point and I'm not disagreeing. Just think Okazaki needs to play every week.

We saw yesterday why Okazaki shouldn't play every week. Completely out of his depth. He is OK running about every week but there is more to being a number 10 then that. I hope he is out the side for a while. Ulloa in my opinion offers more and hopefully Slimani will be a huge upgrade on okazaki.

We didn't start Okazaki against Hull and we completely missed him. His link up play is so good that nobody else, from what we've seen, is better in that position. Not only that but when we're defending he drops. Musa looked out of his depth yesterday, he doesn't even run with the ball.

No worries pal.

My opinion without being rude, Shinji in CM is a no no.

You have got to give Musa a chance he has hardly played. There's no way Okazaki will be in the team once Slimani is fit thank god.

I'm sorry but seriously not a fan of his. I must be missing something because apart from running around he offers very little.

It it was compensated for with Kante in midfield. This year, without Kante it's like we have 9 men on the pitch when Shinji plays. He doesn't hold it up. His movement isn't great. He barely gets on the assist charts and his goals scoring record may as well be non existent. He has to be one who is sacrificed to accomodate Slimani and Musa. Ulloa offered far more yesterday when he came on.
