ranxerox Posted 14 September 2016 Posted 14 September 2016 I hope you do very well. Besides all supporters of English teams should hope for good results for PL teams as its important for the UEFA coefficients.

Thank you I agree on the coefficients so I'll always support English teams in Europe (well, with the exception of Forest maybe - but they'll never be back in Europe again in my lifetime ) It's a bit like the World Cup for me. As a proud Englishman I'd like English clubs to be top of the all time list of European Cup winners (not Real and Milan) the same as I'd like the England national team to be top of the World Cup all time list (not Brazil and Germany).

Not now, the UEFA coefficients used to determine how many places each league gets are out the window and the PL, along with La Liga, Bundesliga and Serie A are guaranteed 4 places each in Champion's league. We should all be hoping the other English sides fvck up their coefficients as the new rules will also distribute market share based on the coefficients. So the higher Arsenal's coefficient the more money they get. Oh and they have also changed the calculation of the coefficients to ensure the historically big clubs now have higher coefficients, so that is a boost for United, Milan and Liverpool's coefficient, but a downgrading on Man City and Chelsea because they have no history. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3787806/Europe-s-elite-shafting-poor-enjoy-Leicester-City-can.html
SheppyFox Posted 14 September 2016 Posted 14 September 2016 Sincerely hope so, I always have and always will continue to support any English club against any foreign club, irrelevant of their rivalry with Leicester too.
StanSP Posted 14 September 2016 Posted 14 September 2016 Article from someone on BBC who takes a sly dig at UEFA at the same time as praising and wishing us well http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37366826
FireFox Posted 14 September 2016 Posted 14 September 2016 Anyone else hope Monaco smash Spurs at Wembley?

I was only just getting my head around the old rules The cynic in me feels that we're just heading towards one big European super league for the mega rich clubs - which would ruin football for me..
Raj Posted 14 September 2016 Posted 14 September 2016 Think the Leicester love in is well and truely over now from other clubs.... BUT who gives a feck eh??
Saxondale Posted 14 September 2016 Posted 14 September 2016 Shedloads of single-digit IQ Tottenham/Arsenal/Man City fans were whinging about how we got an 'easy group', failing to understand that we won the league and were therefore seeded as a top team. Cretins.
Gary Eatfood Posted 14 September 2016 Posted 14 September 2016 I don't really care about coefficients or whether other English fans hope we do well. All I can say is I laughed wholeheartedly at Spurs losing tonight!
foxy boxing Posted 15 September 2016 Posted 15 September 2016 fans of other clubs should want us to do well in europe because England is in danger of losing a champions league spot and all England fans should support their home clubs in europe whether they like us or not
WigstonWanderer Posted 15 September 2016 Posted 15 September 2016 Couldn't stop myself from sniggering while watching the Spurs match.

I think those changes are poor, and the revenue changes you mentioned will also likely end up benefiting the owners of the clubs. Oh well coefficients be damned I still hope you do well because I grew fond of the club during the run in last year.
