Forgotten Fanzines

With my brother, his mate and with occasional contributions from my Mum, I used to co-produce a City fanzine in around 1996.  It was called "Foxed Off" and I reckon it must have run for about four or five editions.  None of us can locate a copy now.  Does anyone remember it?  Does anyone have a copy still??  We used to sell it outside the ground before home matches.

One of the highlights was a haiku my Mum wrote about Neil Lennon. The first line was "Oh Ginge..." and that's all I can remember now.  She's passed away now and I would love to get a note of the whole thing.

As I remember it, there were one or two other short-lived fanzines back in the 1990s.  Again, I can't remember any of them.

That was done by John Regan I think. I saw a copy recently at my dads house but can't think where it might be now. Pretty sure the same guys did the Athletico postcards for McGhee

Anybody remember one that used to posted out from the club in the early 2000s? A4 size. I'm sure there's copies in my parents' home with Lee Marshall, Akinbiyi and co on the front, the glory years.

I'm sure I had something similar for being in the 'Robbie Savage fanclub'.

A friend and I did one called O'Neill and pray...dreadful name but I had to go with it as he was the printer. It was A4 size and we landed an interview with pierpoint right in the middle of the o Neill saga...he wouldn't answer anything related to Martin though. Lineker also got in touch but sadly we never got to interview him. The copies were heavy and I remember selling a few but binning loads one matchday! Saw one on eBay once!

I stopped getting the Fox, but about 10 years ago I was an obsessed teenager and got all the back issues when they were available cheap.

As you get to 2017 you realise that the issues from the 1990s are really valuable historical documents. Of course they are opinionated but the diary section and goings on at the club are brilliantly reported. In an age of the internet and forums, where every news story, article and rumour is available via a Google search or link, to be able to draw on these is fantastic.

I still get The Fox every month, and have done since the early 1990s. But I used to love Where's the Money Gone: one of the best covers was an issue I bought at the Watford home game in November 1996, just after Spider Kalac had that disastrous game against West Brom. The picture was of him signing autographs, and the bubble coming out of his mouth read "Have you got another pen? I dropped that last one."

OK, so you had to be there...
