fleckneymike Posted 20 January 2017 Posted 20 January 2017 Even though we have had both Ron and Robert Zieler in goal, they rank 22/23 for keepers in the Prem. ealingfox Posted 20 January 2017 Posted 20 January 2017 Saw this earlier and thought they've definitely just rifled through all the goalkeeping metrics they could find to make Bravo look as shit as poss. Not denying Zieler's been doggo but Bravo wouldn't be anywhere near that list if he'd had big Vinny Kompany in front of him instead of John Stones.

ajthefox Posted 20 January 2017 Posted 20 January 2017 He's not been as good as any of us have hoped but it's one statistic which is obscure anyway. I mean "expected" goals? How is that even quantifiable? It's conjecture.

Using an historical database built using information such as the build-up, distance, angle and placement of more than 250,000 shots, Opta can evaluate 'Expected Goals' - the quality of any chance a player has, and how likely it is to be saved."
Jonno84 Posted 20 January 2017 Posted 20 January 2017 Hes not a bad keeper he won the world cup with Germany but throw and overseas player strait into the prem they appear shite.I'd keep him he's decent dispute his few blunders I'd rather have him with German prem exspeireince that Ben hamers
StanSP Posted 20 January 2017 Posted 20 January 2017 i'm more surprised that Swansea have conceded 49 already genuinely didn't know it had been that many.

Jonno84 Posted 20 January 2017 Posted 20 January 2017 Why not not just tell me how its a dire argument. I'm just saying that good back up gk are hard to find
Jonno84 Posted 20 January 2017 Posted 20 January 2017 What's the point of Birmingham player pic if you care to exsplain
Poznan34 Posted 20 January 2017 Posted 20 January 2017 *2nd worst keeper to face >100 shots. Sure there are plenty worse warming benches.
Jonno84 Posted 20 January 2017 Posted 20 January 2017 Does he play in the reserves Mutch just out of intrest.if he's not proved himself Mutch in the summer we should replace with a proven pl goalie like shwarzers prefeely not in there 40s
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 20 January 2017 Posted 20 January 2017 Still feel happy enough for Zieler to be our second keeper so to speak. It can be very difficult to get players (inc. goalkeepers) who are willing to be non-first teamers. Although he hasn't impressed so far in his appearances, he's evidently a good goalkeeper given his career statistics and honours before his move to Leicester.
iancognito Posted 20 January 2017 Posted 20 January 2017 Rubbish, pointless stats. Played different amount of games than Kasper, probably tougher opposition (Liverpool & United away included) and just completely misleading. People were knocking him for crap distribution but Schmeichel's kicking since he came back has been complete doggo too. Yes Schmeichel's a better keeper but he's the back up. Your best keeper isn't ever the guy on the bench and putting this up 4 games after he was dropped is just being picky.
Fox92 Posted 21 January 2017 Posted 21 January 2017 Not saying he's the "second worst in the division" but like I've always said he hasn't impressed me one bit.
funkyrobot Posted 21 January 2017 Posted 21 January 2017 Zieler is not good enough to be a back up goalie at prem level, simple as that. How this lad has got 6 caps for Germany I don't know. The stats back up what we've all seen. He loves a show pony dive for the cameras but he gets nowhere near the shots.
Chico1958 Posted 21 January 2017 Posted 21 January 2017 So it's Zeilers fault that Huth and Wes have given him little protection. He may not be great but he's had to deal with not much better in front of him. I see Marshall is below him, I'd have him in a heartbeat. Played for Cardiff and he was one of the stand out players in a sorry bunch............... Believe me I know

I'm not sure he commands the box that well. But he's also had a very poor defence in front of him. Sort out our centre backs and I think his record will improve.
