Do you know a CB in the PL, who isn't at least 1,82-85m? I mean, what about airpower in the box? Today, against Llorente, who is 1,95m, he wouldn't have won a single header. Huth (1,91m) did.
drofmor55 Posted 13 February 2017 Posted 13 February 2017 We never seem to win our share of the 50/50 balls or scrappy possession in midfield ..We just seem to get out muscled all the time...If so Kante was a much bigger loss than i first thought. With that in mind i would pack the midfield and go back to a 3-5-2 Kasper Was Morgan Huth Mahrez Amartey Benaloune Ndidi Gray Musa/Okazaki Slimani Was/Morgan/Huth played well together as a back 3 in the "great escape" admittedly 2 years older but whats the alternative ?..Wague is an unknown quantity Benaloune would give us some "bite" in midfield and he looks fairly comfortable on the ball I think we need to start playing like Stoke/West Brom/Burnley/Swansea/M'boro/Watford...fighting for every ball..every challenge being a borderline foul...we have become a soft touch !
Collymore Posted 13 February 2017 Posted 13 February 2017 Kasper Simpson Benny. Huth. Albrighton Ndidi. Amartay Mahrez okazaki. Gray Slimani It's really hard to pick a team that doesn't include a few of the no hopers. IMO Vardy, Drinky, Morgan, Fuchs and Chilwell all need to be removed.

We haven't scored a goal for god nos how long so any young attacking player cant do any worse and defence im more or less 100% sure cant be any worse than that back 4 we started with Yes, absolutely even more spanked. The answer to our predicament isn't to field our 'second team'. It's to stop pissing about, to get it sorted, and to get someone in who can get our 'first team' firing again. Theres still 13 matches left ffs. I blame the owners for apathetically sittting back and not taking control of a situation that has clearly been wrong for months.
Guest Danny Clender Posted 13 February 2017 Posted 13 February 2017 I'm the new manager, first day at work, this is my starting 11. Kasper Amartey Morgan Benny Chilly Ndidi Mendy Mahrez King Gray Slimani Training Day 1 = Brian Clough type shake down.

Ricey Posted 13 February 2017 Posted 13 February 2017 442 is still a major problem in most matches, so I'd love to see: Kasper Simpson - Morgan - Amartey - Chilwell Ndidi - Drinkwater Mahrez Gray Vardy Slimani It can drop back to being a 451 when defending. I know Vardy hates playing out wide but he may finally get a bit more space here to get in behind, plus I can't stand Musa. BUT, we all know that we are burdened with 442 for the rest of the season, so: Kasper Simpson - Morgan - Amartey - Chilwell Gray - Ndidi - Drinkwater - Mahrez Vardy - Slimani Play along the touchlines, spread play and get balls into the box for Slimani. Ugly, but I feel it's our best/only option now. Albrighton to replace Simpson if behind to add extra width.

Christ things are bad when everyone is picking Benaloune in their teams and even in midfield!

Ricey Posted 13 February 2017 Posted 13 February 2017 What makes people think Benaloune, who has had no impact in 2 years and even looked shaky against Derby Reserves, is going to improve things at the back? Likewise Ulloa, who has looked out of his depth all season? Or Mendy who hasn't had a good match yet? Or Wasyl who has been a bombscare every time he's stepped on to the pitch this season? A lot of these teams on here are way over the top. Just because our reserves beat a disinterested, unfit and frankly awful Derby Reserve team doesn't mean they are the solution. Yes changes are required, but just bringing in average to poor players for the sakes of change is not the answer. We need a bit more pace at the back an we need another way to create, but the latter is less about the players and more about tactics.

There's no way the current team can U turn this form. The other teams used a combo of a new manager and a significant influx of new players during the last window. Our only option is to try some of the reserves in the hope that they aren't burdened by the form of the 1st team. It can be much worse tbh. At least we'll see enthusiasm from the likes of Benny, Kapustka etc

Stopped reading at back three with Was, Morgan and Huth. With Benalouane in the middle at that. I'd rather forfeit every single game. That'd be less embarrassing.
foxy boxing Posted 13 February 2017 Posted 13 February 2017 Kasper, Gray, Ndidi should be starting games as for the rest Vardy should be on the bench and then pick the rest of the players from whoever like it will make much of a difference!
Vocey Posted 13 February 2017 Posted 13 February 2017 Kasper Amartey Benaloune Morgan Chilwell Albrighton King Ndidi Gray Mahrez Slimani. get the ball wide and get crosses in for slim. Hope that mahrez wakes up now his mate is back.
Guest Posted 13 February 2017 Posted 13 February 2017 Kasper Simpson Benny Huth Chillwell Gray Ndidi Amartey Mahrez Ulloa - Maybe a risky one, but I think we need to rely less on pace of Vardy and more use of wingers getting attacking and also lobbing balls into the box, could switch week by week between him and Shinji Slimani Zieler Shinji - Sub if we are winning Kaputska - sub if it's a tight game Mendy - bring into hold the ball with some attacking threat then fill the rest with whoever
shade Posted 13 February 2017 Posted 13 February 2017 schmeichel simpson amartey benalouane chilwell ndidi mendy gray king vardy slimani
Jazzy_Jeff Posted 13 February 2017 Posted 13 February 2017 Schmeichel Simpson Amartey Benny Chilwell Mendy Ndidi King Mahrez Slimani Gray Subs: Zieler, Huth, Fuchs, Drinkwater, Albrighton, Ulloa, Vardy In the home games against Hull and Sunderland, go with Ulloa for Mendy 4-4-2.
LCFC1996 Posted 13 February 2017 Posted 13 February 2017 Kasper Amartey Benalouane Wasyl Chilwell King (c) Ndidi Albrighton Kapustka Gray Ulloa Not the best XI based on technical ability but they'll ****ing fight for the cause.
damolcfc Posted 13 February 2017 Posted 13 February 2017 Iv just come on holiday to gran canaria Trying to be upbeat... but read this forum again :-( Feel so useless.... want my team to be at least winning a point or 3 every other week at least. Thought king dominated the midfield vs derby... may just be the standard of opposition at his level? Didn't see Swansea game as just arrived here only heard bits on 5live (when I could sneak it on)
SuperMike Posted 13 February 2017 Posted 13 February 2017 A couple of years ago we were in a similiar situation, Albeit playing much better! The previous season we had won something big ( the championship) and the then manager pretty much stuck with his tried and tested squad. However -at about this time in the season - we were relegation favourites and he realised something needed changing. Two players who were deemed as surplus to requirements at their previous clubs (Huth, Albrighton) were put in the team. Two players, Vardey and Mahrez, were given more prominent roles and other minor tweaks were made to the team. The formation was also tweaked and, obviously, some major motivation was bought to the fore. We all know what happened next......... My point is: If the manager (who also experiened a wee bit of success last season!) Is worth his salt he HAS to bring in other players (Amartey / Benny / Kaputska etc) and he has to change the formation to give some kind of solidity. If he doesn't we are DOWN; if he does - who knows? He has to have the courage to do it - staying the same is NOT AN OPTION! c'mon you blues.
