Could've done far better this year domestically (league and cups) but this was always going to be a tough season. Agreed ?
Legend_in_blue Posted 8 March 2017 Posted 8 March 2017 Win all the remaining home games and do over Spurs and Sevilla in that run and I will be happy.
simFox Posted 8 March 2017 Posted 8 March 2017 The important difference is the spread. This year although the points average is low, its tight between 6/7 teams. Couple of wins and you bounce, few losses and your in the mire. Look at Swansea. Looked certain till Xmas, hit form and everyone's talking like they're vying for champions league. I bet they're spitting we bounced above them.

You would this year is going to be one of the lowest in years given Middlesborough are currently 18th with 22 points from 27 games, 35 points should be enough. Was thinking the same thing. "Sky Sports has found"? You mean they took a few minutes to look up the tables on ESPN or their preferred site? We can only hope this crack research team wasn't also tasked with creating that dishy chart. Easy on the eyes, that. Must've taken loads of effort for the child to draw the lines so straight.
fox in the sox Posted 9 March 2017 Posted 9 March 2017 None of the bottom 3 look likely to get to 40 at the moment but Sunderland often get going very late in the season when they look doomed.
lcfc278 Posted 9 March 2017 Posted 9 March 2017 I've had a few attempts at predicting the results until the end of the season at http://www.worldfootball.net/table_calculator/eng-premier-league/ Obviously I wont be exactly right every week otherwise I'd be minted. But I played out the season maybe 3 or 4 times giving us a good/bad/predictable run etc. The best we ended up finishing was 14th and the worst was 17th. I think we could genuinely stay up with only another 7/8 points until the end of the season, however I fully expect us to surpass 40 points myself.
filthyfox Posted 10 March 2017 Posted 10 March 2017 I don't see us going down.... and I never have (this season, or the great escape)
WiFoxes Posted 12 March 2017 Posted 12 March 2017 We now sit 6 points off 10th and 3 points above 18th (albeit with a much better goal difference). The next five matches provide a tremendous opportunity for us. Let's seize that opportunity, lads!
shailen Posted 13 March 2017 Posted 13 March 2017 There are loads of teams involved in the battle to avoid the drop, so I think 36 points will be enough to stay up as teams will play each other.
CosbehFox Posted 13 March 2017 Posted 13 March 2017 After this weekend, here's the stats. If you mirror the results from the first half of the season, 32 points will be enough to stay up. If you use the form on the last six games, 37 points will be enough. If you use the form on the last ten games, 37 points will be enough. If you use points per game, 34 points will be enough. For a reminder, Games against the top 6 Swansea 2/10 Palace 6/11 Middlesbrough 5/11 Sunderland 4/11 Hull 2/10 Bournemouth 3/10 Leicester 3/11 Next weekend - Saturday Crystal Palace v Watford Sunderland v Burnley Everton v Hull West Ham v Leicester Bournemouth v Swansea 1730 Sunday Middlesbrough v Manchester U 1200 Could be squeeky bum times next week.
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 13 March 2017 Posted 13 March 2017 Hard luck West Ham, going down on 42 points is a sickener
