Grewks Posted 13 April 2017 Posted 13 April 2017 Pretty sure we don't have a 'terrifying atmosphere' in the slightest. A few songs, use of the clappers, many families/older fans throughout the stands...that isn't 'terrifying' for a side which has probably visited grounds in the likes of Turkey and Russia over the past few years.

Do you go to our home matches ever?

Was really looking forward to the game but probably won't go now because Grewks says it's all over. Apparently Atletico are good at defending leads, completely new information to us all of course. What a ****ing buzzkill.

SuperMike Posted 14 April 2017 Posted 14 April 2017 Why all the doom and gloom for the upcoming second leg? We are only 1-0 down, due entirely to a dodgy ref, with the home leg to come at fortress KP. They are good, but they are only the third best team in the spanish league (regarded as slightly inferior to The Premier League?) Whilst we are The Champions of England. We've recently had a six game winning streak with Kasper, Simpson, Benny, Ndidi, Albrighton and Vardy playing out of this world! Drinkwater is due a cracking game whilst Mahrez is due an absolute corker! Vardy and Slimani are both amoung the goals and......... .......it is written in the stars. 3-1 City - Semi finals HERE WE COME!

If we score three goals against this Atletico Madrid side then our name is written on the trophy.
leicesterseddon Posted 14 April 2017 Posted 14 April 2017 Penalty aside, the key decision was from Shakespeare at HT to go defensive and contain Atletico. He claimed in his post-match interview that we wanted to get the away goal, but that was never really true from the second half onwards. Who knows...we're definitely still in the tie, but I can't help thinking that a more open game in the second leg favours them now. We definitely need to score first, but in doing so we risk conceding...and scoring three against this lot is going to be a very tough ask.

Honestly the lack of understanding for a game people on here spend so much time following is truly baffling. Tactics were right, think we could of had a go for the last 3-5 mins though, Grey for drinks perhaps, they looked happy in the last 5 mins with 1-0, the ball was just lumped forward with only slim up there, if he had a bit of support there just for that last 180 seconds, I don't think it would of exposed us much defensively.
burleighfox Posted 15 April 2017 Posted 15 April 2017 I was genuinely worried during that first ten minutes as we just couldn't get anything on the ball, they were just knocking it around for fun. But in fairness, we adjusted and looked a lot more relaxed after that and were only undone by one moment where we were out of position and paid the price with the dubious penalty decision. We weren't completely penned in our own half and had one or two decent opportunities and looking at it can be very proud of how well we played against one the best teams in Europe. I said I'd have been impressed with anything less than 3-0 and we've gone away still well and truly in the tie. You never know, with an electric atmosphere and a bit more confidence and belief on Tuesday we could spring a surprise.
st albans fox Posted 15 April 2017 Posted 15 April 2017 Was strange last ten minutes - kasper rushing to get the ball back into play whilst the defence and midfield kept telling him to calm down and slow it ! I wondered what the measage from from the bench was - it clearly wasn't understood by the whole team
